1. I joined TORN during the Karma War because of the awesome DoW announcement then faded to obscurity after seeing DR back on top. What a ride. It is weird to see years of work and time die. I loved this alliance, I loved its history. TORN was a small alliance that inserted itself in big things. More than anything, we were a central member of Duckroll and were committed to shaping that institution into something special. We began the Karma war, and in being spurned by NPO we added one of the great twists to this planet's histories. We were a central instigant of the bi-polar war, involved in the planning of the preemption, and actively pushed for that maneuvour, frankly in a more prominent way than our good buddies in TOP who get the credit. We were involved in the formulation of a strategy in the wake of the bi-polar devistation, and helped in our own way to set DR on a path where it could thrive. How many 40 member alliances can boast that sort of resume? Truely, think about it. We were never the main actors, always a supporting role, but we always punched above our weight class, in war, in diplomacy, in whatever. It was quite a ride. I really enjoyed my time working with all of you. Working with great allies, and partners, was really a pleasure. To the members of IRON and the members of Valhalla in particular, thank you for your constant support through our history. Our story, is also your story. What a legacy. TORN, you will be missed.
 2.
Now there's a fight I can get behind. Fight the good fight, people. 3/100 or nothing.
I favor a flat tech tax.
 3.
Going by his posts they are sad tissues...not happy tissues.
They could be a weird combination.
 4.
Unless they pull a repeat of that brilliant pre-emp they did not too long ago
oh yeah, well
 5.
There was a time where we worked well together--that's true. Staying together because we used to work well together is nostalgia, not wisdom. TBH, the timing of these two course corrections is basically coincidental. There had always been a degree of clash with Argent because we wanted to be dynamic and disruptive, and they wanted to play conservative. Having never settled on a unified course or even established common values or methods, it was really only a matter of time. Doubts about our relationship with IRON began well over a year ago when we stopped recognizing about 90% of the people on the IRON Council. Once MCRABT became the senior-most Councilor, the writing was on the wall.

Well that's one way of describing it.
Yeah... thought so "The difference between how you look and how you see yourself is enough to kill most people" edited: to add in WN's quote for context
 6.
There's still the odd miconception, I see, that TOP was the leading force in how that war played out. MCRABT, amongst others who were present, can tell you that this was not the case. The preempt was a joint operation by TOP and the signatories of Duckroll, and the decision to launch it was formulated and agreed upon by all involved. Where this treaty is involved, we haven't had much in common with Argent since Janax left. I won't bother with the "good luck" or "this was sad but necessary" or other assorted nonsense, as it is all trite in the extreme. Cybernations has been taking a dump for years now. These things happen and I care much less about them than I used to. Everything there is to do has been done before, and none of it is very interesting anymore; CN has not much of a future left, and even less at stake.
As an aside, while your apathy may be an effective shield against any sort of attachment, it doesn't do anyone any good until Armageddon does occur. If you're truly that apathetic, take a step back, because while many scoff at your credibility, I'd hazard a guess that your word still holds some merit in certain circles., like TOP.
Whats funny, is I believe you have personally received most of the blame when iirc, you suggested perhaps waiting another day. We were all there, and we were all responsible for the decision to go ahead. The really sad thing to me, is how you guys interpreted that situation as compared to ours. We came out of that grueling war with drawn out negotiations (mainly stayed over the attempted foisting of absurd reps on you and TSO), with a gramlins post game for IRON, tighter nit than ever before. You guys apparently did not see the situation the same way.
 8.
Obligatory rectum reference.
It is implied.
 9. I suppose the band aid has been ripped This is sad to see.
 10.
It's more than a bloc, it is more evolved than a bloc concept, it achieves everything a bloc ever can without the restrictions imposed by it's mandatory clauses, because the groups continuing existence is dependant on the friendship that binds us as one it operates outside of the sphere of political pragmatism, we are one made up of constituent parts, each part does what it must to preserve the body and strengthen it where possible, all on the basis of free choice. One constituent may sacrifice for the whole or we may gorge together, whatever we deem to be necessary for the benefit of the collective. Trust and Friendship are to Duckroll what life is to a biological cell and because this is the fundamental concern of the group and because we protect those at all costs they are unwavering. Duckroll thus has a continuity and a sense of direction that cannot be paralleled by any bloc.
/slowclaps Rab, a tear.
 11.
Caustic is more than happy to take queries to share his testicular fortitude.
Honestly, if people go into that query window, they were asking for it.
 12.
Duly noted. IF pissing off IRON, TOP or GOONS was of a remote concern to me I might take your advice. Considering that all three alliances have a level of disgust for me that pre-exists this thread, I do not see how poking the edges will hurt me or Polaris at all. In fact nothing I can do or say right now could ever change how we all feel... l will go back under the bridge and await the pace of the politics around here to catch up to what is inevitable. Then when that is resolved, maybe I will still be awake or maybe I wont, either way there is no repairing of relationships with your alliance, or most others involved, so my care factor will likely be as it is now, nil.
I'm quite sure the vitriol is mutual.
We know exactly why they decided to cancel the treaty but we thank you for trying to help us out.
Say it ain't so Feanor! I've got to say, I hold you personally in high esteem, and I am quite depressed to see how this turned out. Not how I envisaged things so long ago.
 13. I'd like to wish the best of luck to our friends in BFF, and specifically those from one of its predecessor's FEAR. I will always remember the way you guys stepped up on our behalf during bipolar, and jumped into the fray immediately after our decision to preempt. There was no question about what you would do, even after Polar left and we knew we would be crushed. We even explicitly stated we did not intend to activate the treaty, nor expect you to jump in. But there you were. Things have obviously gotten more complex since then, and the world has changed. I fear that sort of commitment, both from your side and ours, may have been strained under these new realities, and it is with that acceptance that we break these bonds. Don, I too hope our paths cross someday. Good luck.
 14.
Rape as the theme/backdrop to a treaty is to put it mildly, disappointing. Was that really the best you guys could come up with?
God, I kinda wish it was rape. Now i just question judgement.
 15.
I'm not sure but I feel like you're trying too hard.
Its not just you.
