Forgotten Arm 2: The Creeping Hand? Forgotten Arm 2: Electric Boogaloo? One cool thing about RL place names is that almost every place was called multiple things in its day. If you have a 'favorite' country you're modeling yourself on, there's bound to be something else it was called, or called itself- and you could use that. Or you could use a descriptor, maybe based on what kind of government it has. "Kingdom" is pretty cliche, but there are others. (like Suzerainty, Dominion, Khanate, Hegemony, etc.). You can check this out for more: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_forms_of_government. It depends what sort of impression you want the name to make, really.

Ah. OK. And actually, thanks for being the one to explain it, 'cause I picked Fiji. (And even then- I'm not the only one there.)

Just got linked to here from another site, and set myself up, today. Nimataka is the name of my nation, and I hope to pick up enough from listening to you guys to make a good run of it.

Just started, and didn't see this in the FAQ (or anywhere else yet), so bear with me: Am I right in concluding that I should have "checked" with someone before picking where my nation went? (I'm looking at the Atlas, for example, and it essentially says you should work out something with the people who already "Called Dibs" on a place.) If I'd known it was in someone else's "back yard" (and thus cause all sorts of OOC issues) I might've picked somewhere else.
