So, I have decided that my next blog will be one of being a fantasy Santa Claus. Anyone who wants to know what gift I would give to them or to their AA, post in this thread and when I make the blog I will give an adequate amount of thought to each individual or AA on what would be a perfect (IC CN) gift for each and every one of you. Please when you reply, tell me if you are requesting a gift for your AA or for yourself or for both. Good luck, and remember this is all in good holiday fun.

Like I said, it's not any assumptions at all (well, except the obvious assumption that nobody in TOP said to anybody in Mi6 "why dont some of you STFU for a little while and stop wrecking our sphere." I make that assumption because it is the impression I get.

I believe I speak for alot of people Rey, when I say "huh?" Look, I have never been, and still am not an Umbrella fan. But I watched as they signed their Aztec ties , they were cheered by the likes of Mi6 and TOP because they thought it was solidifying their position. Their flirtations with NPO had been going on for a really long time, without the trigger actually being pulled on paper. Could they have said "Maybe after we go to bat for TOP because they will need it." sure they could have. But where was TOP when Mi6 were running around literally ruining every FA avenue, where was TOP to tell Mi6 "you know you guys are literally sealing the deal with getting our sphere rolled." To my knowledge, Umb very vocally asked TOP to lean on Mi6 and shut them up for the sake of the sphere.... and it was not done. What choice did they have but to leave a sphere that took no interest in securing its own future? Roq has always been a realpolitik 1st kind of guy. If he could not improve his position through the sphere they were in, why would they stay? Treaties and the relationships therein are a two way street. Maybe you should be asking TOP what they did to address Umbrella's very legitimate concerns. Granted, I am , as you are, posting from 3rd hand information on the TOP-Umb-Mi6 dynamic, but I trust my sources are more accurate than inaccurate.

You have many members that I genuinely like. That does not detract from the damage already done by having an entire culture based on spending the last year and a half trying to land 1 line zingers on the OWF rather than making an effort to forge new bonds.

And this is part of the problem. Your "pride." Continue to think that delusion about why you are reviled is true. Almost everyone in every alliance in this game speaks with and acts with pride concerning their alliance. Lost of other alliances are exceedingly visible and are not reviled. It is not about you, or how proud you are of yourselves, it is 100% about the discourse you have where others are concerned. Keep on keepin' on Myth.

I hope you have mountain-climbing gear. Looking down your membership, you have an uphill battle ahead of you my old friend.

There really is nothing that you can surprise me with. I watched the last 18 months unfold. I watched Mi6 form.... based on "playing the game differently" and "being something new and different." I watched as your 1st moves to be "different" were to ally the sphere hell bent on carrying out the oldest line in the game... "Lets roll Pacifica." You know what though, I did not even mind that, at the end of the day, I knew that the new and different thing was just BS being used to lure members, and at the end of the day, you would fall in line and play the exact same political game that every other alliance played. And so you did. But then, once you had achieved what you felt like was a strong long term position, you began trying to act out like some bastardized conglomeration of MK-GOONS-mentalities. You were dismissive and arrogant to anyone not tied directly to you or your daddy in TOP. You openly flaunted, over and over again, every poaching effort you made and/or succeeded at. I personally could not give a rats hiney about poaching, but the reality is, a great many do. But your entire alliance was too hell bent on yucking it up and having your hearty little belly-laughs about it(because you thought your position was stronger than it was), with zero regard to your alliance's image. Then the war ended. TOP sought out new bonds, because they realized they needed them. Almost every effort they made was met with "your allies in Mi6 are !@#$%bags" and was a factoring reason in why every FA overture was shut down. Still you carried on like bored, petulent children. Always seeking to land that one-line zinger (from gov all the way down to membership), with zero regard to what it was doing to YOUR FA and your spheres FA. Now that you have been completely neutered, and you know exactly how weak your position was, and how you are nothing new and different. NOW you talk about how you want to reinvent your image. How you wish and encourage your members to be less egotistical towards other alliances. And what does this do? It reaffirms that you are nothing new and different, you are just like everyone else. When you are on top, you take liberties, when you are facing a beatdown, you are suddenly reformed and have a new image. Who knows, you may even make some progress post-war with the new image thing. But it will not be because you are different then than you are now. It will be because it is the only option you have. It is not coincidence that every alliance in this game's desire to re-shape their image is directly proportional to the size of the barrel of the gun they are facing down. Congratulations, in your quest to be new and different, you have discovered you are just like every other alliance Planet Bob has spawned. Good luck picking up and moving on though, and THAT I truly do mean. I consider this war the culmination of nearly everything I told Chim when he tried poaching me. And for my personal vendetta, the score is settled.

Wait a minute... the folks in Mi6 actually tried to blame someone other than themselves for the fact that 95% of Planet Bob reviles them?

You say this as you reside in the alliance who brought us "A Declaration on one is a declaration on all." Now that is some rich stuff.

To be honest, its as much the fault of the sphere you are tied to. They used PM statistics (that were not even out of line with what every alliance does) to put terms on the non-target of the last war... so pfft.

You literally aligned with the "A declaration on one is a declaration on all" sphere... no stinking treaty ties needed.

No need to overdo it? If only your alliance had learned that with the smug... where might you be...

What I miss is the unwavering loyalty that C&G and DH had to that war. That may never be seen again (I mean loyalty of that level.)

You could always tell those who are content to claim a moral high-ground and soak up honor while doing nothing to put their allies in a better position(and remaining silent while tertiary allies make the position even worse) to sod off. I respect and applaud your efforts to try. There had to come a point in the last 3 months though, where you realized that your BFFs did not want to make any effort, and at the point, to be blunt, you should have cut them loose and not tied your fate to theirs. Had they TRIED and you tied your fate to theirs, nobody could fault you. But you remained attached to dead weight even as people were telling you how dead the weight was. That is where you failed, and for the 1st time in Sparta's history, you deserved better than you got, but you did not put yourself 1st, you chose to put the dead weight 1st.

This is the biggest load of crap I have ever read. Pacifica started the war with 79 nations over 100K, ended the war with 23 nations over 100K... Stop flipping posting this lying nonsense about hiding. They were in the neighborhood of 25% of their +100K nations being in PM the whole time... That is mind-numbingly average and every single alliance approaches that very same number.

Dear Dajobo, You and your allies can prosecute or defend this war in any way you see fit. What it is that makes you look worse during the war than before the war is as follows: 1) Nobody who has played politics in a war coalition for more than 3 seconds believes, nor should they, that the conversation went like this : Polar: Let us defend you SNX: No. Polar: Please. SNX: No. Polar: Pretty please? SNX: No. Polar : With a cherry on top? SNX: Fine, you win, defend us. The mere suggestion of this is an insult to the intelligence of anyone with 3 brain cells to rub together. Residing in a pompous sphere where nobody will give you or your allies the time of day because of your exuberant arrogance probably makes this insult to the intelligence of literally everyone, serve no other purpose than to exacerbate the prevailing opinion of you and your allies. 2) That you have allies who sit out this little event, while watching you spout such nonsense (again allies that nobody will give the time of day to because of the arrogant , dismissive nature with which they treated those who now oppose them (between EQ and Disorder)), does nothing to strengthen any hope that they may have for opening FA routes in the future. They will, in fact, because nobody believes they are "waiting for you to ask," be more widely viewed as cowards and or war evaders. Stop me when we get to the point where that puts any of them in a better position. 3) Making your alliance a martyr has never worked in CN history, why you think it would now is puzzling. Like I said, do what you will, but spare those of who know better, the theatrical speeches about allies chomping at the bit but being held at bay, and about allies "needing permission" to defend. 7 years ago when Planet Bob was full of plebes , that may have worked, 95% of those who remain are grizzled veterans who know the stench bs when it wafts into their nostrils.

So basically Polar wants to put itself on a cross so their allies can be saved. How noble.
