  1. Has it occurred to anyone that winning this game now involves developing a strategy to destroy DBDC? They have positioned themselves as the "end boss" of this video game.

Unless you enjoy playing to lose, you should all be thinking about that dynamic. I may be biased, but I am also undeniably correct. Sooner or later the only way for all of you to not continue being losing losers who lose is to confront DBDC. Any non DBDC alliance strategy, of any alliance who wants to not be losers, should answer the question "how do we destroy DBDC?"

If you are not playing to win, why bother continuing to play?

This is said with no resentment to DBDC, the only alliance, in fact, comprised of winning winners who win. They are the winners and you are the losers. Even their lackeys losers who are pet and fed regularly. Submitting before the power of winners does not make you one.

Seriously though, everyone... why protect your pixels, if all you are going to do with them... is lose? Are you all more satisfied to have a big stack of lose than a little one?

Member of WTF telling people that if they dont play to win, why bother playing. Seems legit.

Has it ever occurred to you that your alliance, which has given nothing to the community for years, made 0 contribution in any way shape or form to the "game", does not have one single member that has the standing to tell ANY of the rest of us how to play the game? You chose a do-nothing, play-nothing alliance, you did nothing, you played nothing. Enjoy the "fruits" of that, I do not care if DBDC  and all their allies leave smoking craters of every WTF, GPA, OBR, or any other non-player in politics. I simply do. not. care.

  2.

    Cool your heels Jim.

I'm just some guy. Ultimately, whatever we would do would be up to the entire General Assembly. Democracy, I'm not Gov, etc.

Like I said I'm not against raiding or going to war for whatever reason you like.... You just have to handle the heat for your decisions. I am mostly against anyone "rescuing" DBDC. It's not that I don't like them or that they have ever done my alliance wrong. They wanted to play. They are big boys...supposedly the terror of Bob.... Let them handle it......

I understand friendship and in this case if you are DBDC's friend and they want you to help...it's on you to drag your own alliance to that table. I don't recall DBDC making any overtures of friendship to GATO.

While what you say, in practice may be correct, I just want to point out that Thriller did not "handle the heat." They tucked tail and disbanded. So coming from you, it really is ineffectual commentary. If you do not practice what you preach, do not preach it, memories are long.

  3. So, to fulfill an outstanding debt, I am here to finally finish the last gift delivery , albeit very late, of Santa Rush for Christmas 2014.

Kashmir - While nobody will confuse these guys with any of the power-players behind CN politics, nearly everyone is profoundly aware of who they are. Possessing one of the brightest creative and political minds in CN history (SirWilliam), these guys have been a refreshing change since they arrived on the scene. Many alliances have strove to be "new and different." Nobody, save these guys, have successfully accomplished it. Whether it is ticking off central members of the previous power sphere by sticking to their guns and sharing all official discourse with their entire membership, making cute elephant signatures that I personally consider homage to me (even though they are not) or simply just celebrating the fact that they are indeed different, they have achieved a status based on principle without forging the official bonds that all alliances immediately set out to forge.  Most of their membership, save the esteemed SirWilliam, who will always hold legendary status within C&G gov channels, have been largely unfamiliar to me. As such, I have watched and observed for the past several months. They have a few luminaries, Margrave and Master Hakai for instance who actually do a very good job of representing and defending both what Kashmir is intended to be and what it actually is (and both are pretty damn close to the same thing.) To me, they appear to be a group of people that basically decided and acted on the philosophy that we all agree on (that this game is broken and continuing to play it the way we play it breaks it further.) I doubted, and I told SirWilliam as much, that paperless could be successful long term. He was right, I was wrong. Anyone who knows me knows that is not an easy admission for me. These guys SHOULD serve as a model to the community that trying something truly new should at least be given a chance. Sadly this community, and myself included, probably lacks the drive and energy to trailblaze, and their existence  will remain as both testament to what they have set out to do, and trolling the rest of us for our lack of courage to be different.

Margrave, I hope you find this suitable and worthy of what you expected from me. Until next Christmas, Santa Rush bids  you all adieu.

  4. No, in this case it's neither of those things. You said you "know" that roll NPO will remain policy. Knowing something requires it to be a fact. Thinking that might be the case would still be incorrect because you are defining a black or white situation where they either want to roll NPO or not roll NPO.

And I can almost guarantee you that you are wrong.

Within the political confines of Planet Bob, one does not need X to happen to play the political game based on the belief that Y is a fact.

  5. As per the title... Moments that unite us.... anyone who was in any form of gov position in C&G the night that noCB kicked off, will tell you, that was a moment unmatched in this games history for the sheer spirit, loyalty and comradery that was born that evening. One of the worst rollings any group had ever endured, was still a night that will be forever regaled for the bonds that it forged.

  6. I have pretty mixed feelings here.

I find DeathAdder to be a pretty decent fella, though I do not much care for Sparta. I have more friends than I can count to in Mi6, and I think very little of them as well, but looking at this as an observer, my guess is it went something like this:

Between the last 2 wars, Sparta was, for the 1st time in their history, trying to make meaningful moves to cement the sphere they were a part of. They were met with tons of resistance by everyone they approached, and their treaty with Mi6 was a LARGE factor. They resigned themselves to their perdicament, fought the losing war, decided to move on. In some ways, this is to their credit. By the same token, over the course of the last several months, the folks in Mi6 have had an epiphany, and realized they needed to change their image, this too, is to their credit. There should be no reward or brownie points given to the fact that Mi6 defended them, paper and broader coalition strategies led to this much moreso than anyone in Mi6 going "Sparta needs help, lets go help them." You 2 both seem to be better off without one another, and for that you should both be happy.

I, for one, am happy to see some vitriol in this cancellation, not because of my personal feelinsg towards either alliance (honestly), but because treaty cancellations need more honesty about them... and all of the "well wishing" and the "we still love you, best of luck" posts, are a total detriment to the political game. When moves are made to change political directions, you are basically telling people "we are really better off without them" and this SHOULD create more political drama. Kudos to both of you, in this case, for not honor-sucking and for letting honesty and reality flow. (I really truly do mean this to both of you)... well played.

  7. I'm really upset more by the fact that the OWF community seems fine with setting the precedent that private intra alliance communications are in any way justified to be posted to the public forums. This has always been a despicable issue with people I've known and while today's logs may not show anything of value (and these magical "reserved logs" won't show anything either) somebody out there has dirt on somebody else's alliance and I'm just not sure we want to go down this road.

I'm not saying we have anything to hide, but surely this is a bad move all around.

You had played the political game shrewdly and admirably up until this paragraph. Now this paragraph does not detract from all that you have accomplished, but it does show what amounts to you taking an "honorable" and a "noble" stance that what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. Since the inception of planet Bob, this has been false. Every time someone with an axe to grind has those same personal and private conversation that can be spun to a political whim of their own choosing... it is only a matter of time until they use them. Using these is not a betrayal. It is a divergence of philosophy. Nearly every war in this game has begun with someone telling someone something that was never meant to be shared. The community has ALWAYS been accepting of this from day 1. You would be better suited not to give the impression that you are taking an almost "moral" stance based on political agendas and how to achieve them. I do not know what is and is not real or true about any of this, nor do I care, but your assertion here quite simply is, has always been, and will always be, incorrect. It is only despicable if you are the betrayed or close to the betrayed, and it is also only celebrated when you are the betrayer or stand to gain through the betrayer. We have ALL, without exception, been on both sides of this coin.

  8.

Ranked #69 of 307 alliance nations

Pretty awful coverage you've got there. Seriously, the alliances fighting us only need to cover 5 or 6 nations each to get total coverage down to me. Seriously, this is the single worst coordinated beat down I've ever been on the receiving end of.

I'm fairly happy with our political position, right now. We have allies that we can trust and who trust us, and we have the respect of pretty well every alliance I give a damn about. Puckering up to DBDC's arse wont help with either of those things. When peace is available on reasonable terms, we will consider it. Until then, we'll keep the nukes flying.

What depleting war chests? If we need to, we're perfectly capable of keeping this war going at its current level for a whole lot longer than the rabble of alliances fighting us have the will to do. The alliances fighting us are taking a beating too, in their most vulnerable, and in some ways, most valuable (good luck growing your upper tiers when your tech sellers are all on fire).

You must have missed Equilibrium, When the losing side , for 3+ months MASSIVELY outwarred the winning side for the only time in CN history, if you think THIS is the most poorly conducted beatdown.

  9. It's not failed leadership if the people who were necessary to bringing about such a strategy would never do so in the first place.

One thing that has defend the great leaders in Planet Bob history, is being able to convince others that they should do something that they would a) normally not do and b) do not particularly want to do. As I said, there is no really good leadership in this game today, but Cuba and TB outclass literally EVERYONE else.

  10. At no point could Polar have destroyed DBDC of its own leadership. I was in coalition high command during Disorder (outside of Polar) and though we might have had great hosts on our side on paper, in practice there was no way we could have ever got all the disparate factions that made up our coalition to get together and grind down DBDC. Heck HB's largest nation hated my OWF politics and played a big part in my removal as Hand.

I know you know it just doesn't work that way, theres no way Polars Emperor or anyone else could get the entire upper tier mobilized to sacrifice themselves, especially when DBDC didn't really pose any strategic significance in the war.

One MIGHT call that failed leadership. If one were inclined to do so.

  11.

War/Peace Preference: war.gif War is an option for Golden Empire since 11/8/2013.

Why would we need to into peace mode? No, what's taking the sting out of it is that most of the alliances fighting us are barely managing to keep up enough of a declare rate to bother calling it a war. Seriously, I've never been in a war against superior numbers where I've been able to spend this much time sitting in war mode with nobody declaring. I didn't even bother going into peace mode when I was away for a week in the middle of the war.

This just in... the lower your NS, the less likely you are to be attacked. More at 11.

  12. I'm pretty sure Polar fought back in addition to Pax Corvus and RIA.

Polar rolled over at least 2 times before fighting back. I made a long winded thread about it in the last war about how TOP-Polar had the numbers needed to take down DBDC. It was met with "Rush just wants to see us lose more stats because while we probably can grind them down Ramlins style, it will weaken us too much statistically to do so." Get Dajobo a mirror. Make sure the TOP flag is visible in the background. Gaze into it. What you see are the reasons why you are where you are right now.

  13. As Sarkin has pointed out, Riot Society are doing tech deals with DT (odd but I digress), and I have not been approached to stop, cease, or discontinue said deals, we also have a tech deal with Umbrella. Fark can sit here, and say that they've gone to people tech dealing with DT (albeit we only have maybe 2 deals with them) but I've yet to hear from them. I only know one other AA who was approached by Fark, and they told them to shove it that they were going to keep dealing with DT, yet they weren't attacked,

So from my own dealings with another AA who was approached, said $%&@ off, who actually has nations 50k+ ranges, and nukes; were not attacked. I was not approached about our deals with DT, maybe not as many as WFF, but still on the opposite side of Fark. This is just very silly for Fark to continue to claim anything else other than we targeted them because they were weak, and wouldn't fight back. Which I don't have a problem with it, but don't hide behind saying you've talked to others, and the others have said they'd stop, when that's simply not true.

Impossible. Fark has approached all of them. They said so.

  14. The beauty of all of this is until 3 months ago, I held 0 titles. Still, I was the voice of TLR. I told people I held no title. Still I was the voice of TLR. I got a title, upon getting the title the entirety of the gov and myself communicated that it was a ceremonial title given to me because I did not want it (which was, somehow completely overlooked by everyone), and again I am the voice of TLR. You see... y ou WANT me to be the voice of TLR. You NEED me to  be that voice. So much so that there was 0 change in my status from when I was Trium.. to when I had no title, to when I was trolled (internally) by being given a title. It is not my fault that so many of you want to insist that "title means relevance" after having spent 20+ months of preaching that no title STILL meant relevance because none of you knew who Kestral, Elorian, or Hombre (or DC or rifleman) was. The reality is you want to ASSIGN a level of importance to me, and the facts and reality will be reshaped around whatever it is you decide to ascribe to me.

  15. Oh cmon Rush, MoFA title or not your words represent how TLR is perceived. With the MoFA title, your words represents TLRs stance. I think you're wise enough to know the difference.

If you don't want the latter association, resign from MoFA. Don't expect the apathetic masses to remember that you're specific title is meaningless. TLR is not exactly at the forefront of politics these days.

    You are, quite simply, wrong.
