1. First of all, thedestro has his numbers wrong. Originally furs gave 10% addition meaning 110% of the normal growth amount. Now furs triple normal growth, give 200% addition that is, meaning 300% of the normal growth amount. So the addition they give is now 20x the original addition (not 30x) and the total growth is 3x normal (whereas it used to be 1.1x normal). Secondly, my nation of 577 days of age and no furs has 288.631 miles naturally grown land. That means ~0.500 land per day or ~182.583 land per year. With furs this would be ~1.501 per day or ~547.748 per year. If this brings you anywhere near of having half as much land as you have infra to get the environment bonus, you're doing something seriously wrong. With Agriculture Development Program wonder and furs you'd get ~274 citizens per year due to natural land growth. If we assume a healthy $420 daily gross income per citizen and a tax percentage of 30% we can see a year's land gives ~$34.5k extra income per day. New nations don't have such gross incomes as $420 per citizen. My nation would receive ~$34.5k extra per day if I got a $1.18 gross income boost for my citizens. Because furless nations also have natural growth the difference is only 2/3 of that so, +$0.79 would equal the advantage a furred nation gets in land per year. Let us make comparison with silver that effectively boosts income with +$6. Furs give +$3.5 leaving only a gap of $2.5 to reach by land growth. While a year's extra land given by furs equals ~+$0.79 it only takes 3 years and 2 months for furs to be equal with silver. Truly a super resource. Thirdly, I'd be bold enough to claim furs actually harm new nations. These days every war is nuclear which leads to a lot of land being destroyed and since new nations have little to start with they won't be able to loot much from each others. This practically means new nations can opt to stay under navy land by selling from very little to no land. As long as their natural growth wont force them over 1k land. New nations wont gain anything by fighting bigger nations' navies. The only things that will happen there are ships sinking and money burning on both sides. It's the new nations that are tight on money. Besides fighting you can count $5k-$30k daily upkeep per ship and $0.3M-$2M initial purchase cost per ship. Nations without fur can avoid this and spend their money on infra/tech/warchest for 3 years, 5 months and 20 days. Nations with fur can avoid this only for 1 year and 10 months.
2.
I don't see the reason to. I mean, I literally don't see one constructive reason for the server load and annoyance of it. Imagine during a war when you're fighting nations and rapidly clicking around all over CN deploying, attacking, buying, etc. And you are constantly barraged by 1-2 seconds of music on each page? The choppiness would drive you crazy.
Not only this but at times of big wars eg the search function is disabled to lower the server load and still it's something like 50-50 chance whether or not the game throws you out at close to update for it can't bear the load of all the players. Adding music seems like a weird idea since the game already lacks the server capacity to run fully at times of rush.
3. Slots filled, thank you for your interest.
4. I'm buying technology for $3M/100tech price. The first deal is done so that you send me 50 tech, 10 days later I'll send you $3,000,000 and another 10 days later you send me 50 tech. The deals that possibly follow will be done so that I'll send the money first and you'll send me 2 shipments of 50 tech each later. If you accept my offer you can just send me the first shipment of tech. You can also PM me eg to notify if you wish to make just one deal or more. Here's my nation link. Edit: One slot open.
5. I'll blame our CoFA for any information that was false.
6. 1)When I asked about this from my alliance's comissar of foreign affairs he told me the following: The game has an (un)official irc channel which isn't really in use. All alliances worth of anything have their own channels (mostly at Coldfront). All the politics and communications is mainly done through alliance irc channels and allience forums along with this forum and the wiki.
7. I'm not sure why exactly everyone just ignored my suggestion. It would cause "nuke turrets" not to lose tech any more or quicker than now and let them be superior compared with nations in their range. Still, it would make them cause smaller damages by limiting their range to nations closer their infra. I would like to hear at least why all of you ignored it.
8. One solution could be limiting the military use of tech. It could be limited eg in such a manner that only infra*1 or infra*1.5 or infra*2 of the tech would give damage bonuses and NS. In that way a nation having eg 1k infra and 10k tech would only get 1k or 1.5k or 2k tech worth bonus damage and only 5k or 7.5k or 10k NS from tech. This would cause "nuke turrets" cause less damage and to smaller nations with cheaper infra and faster rebuild. The rest tech would be "in stock" waiting for the nation to get more infra and also giving economical advantages if the nations happens to have GU etc.
9. Face the reality: There are thousands of nations willing to buy more tech in CN. Hundreds of them have problems with filling their slots with deals. We could of course create rules which deny offering more than 3M/100t for tech. The fact just is that the buyers who then won't get their slots full will rather break the rules by offering 3M/50t than just sit and watch while their rivals keep getting more and more ahead of them by getting tech. And the sellers would eventually stop selling for 3M/100t for they would know that they'd be able to get higher price. If you get tech for 3M/100t then good for you. But if the price goes up and you won't find tech anymore with that price would you be ready to pay 3M/50t? I haven't yet done a single 3M/50t deal. Nevertheless it seems to me that we're living a gray perioid and the price is slowly getting up. If I stop finding deals for 3M/100t rate I'm more than happy to start buying for 3M/50t because I need tech and should this be my situation, I would only get it by paying that price or 17,2M/50t at "Purchase Technology"-menu.
10. I started at ~1k and went to ~1,5k. Now I'm at ~29k and have bought my 5 first wonders and have a somewhat healthy war chest. I must admit my alliance gave me a boost.
11. I'm sorry about that bkphysics, when at war I deal with my wars first and only then check forums where I saw the peace announcement. If you want you are welcome to do your attacks for the day and then offer peace, I'll accept it without retaliation.
