1.
This is an interesting viewpoint, and I suppose I can understand it. But Heft saw it differently; he didn't think that war could happen from something this dumb. We were not intent on picking a fight here, regardless of the fact that the actions we took might reflect that.
This isn't a crack or anything at you guys, just my honest, personal opinion, but if that's the case, NSO needs to take a close look at how they select their government. Sadly, as has been proven to be the case over the last 1 or 2 years, anything can cause a war, no matter how dumb it may or may not be. As well, Heft ordering that aid sent was the LAST thing anyone should have even thought of doing, much less actually do in this whole situation. Granted you all in NSO know Heft better than me, but based on his decisions and logic in this whole process, I personally would not feel safe or comfortable with him still being in any sort of position in government and being able to make decisions that affect the entire alliance. Again, not taking cracks or anything, that's just my blunt, honest, personal opinion.
 2.
And perhaps Heft would not have been kept in his position had RoK chosen to negotiate as NSO desired. But I suppose we'll never know at this point.
Oh, so because NSO thumbed their nose at RoK and did EXACTLY what Hoo said would result in a war if they did do it, RoK is just supposed to say "oh hell, we were just joking, lets sit down and talk"? Could RoK have continued negotiations? Sure. Were they required to? Hell no. As soon as that aid was sent and Heft/NSO did EXACTLY what RoK warned would result in war, RoK didn't owe NSO a damn thing and sure didn't have to listen to NSO's requests nor care about their desires. RoK warned that sending aid would be viewed as an act of war. NSO sent the aid. RoK called NSO out on it, decided the time for negotiations was over, and declared war. And if you want to play the conspiracy theory/perhaps game, fine, I'll play. Perhaps NSO just would have used the negotiations to allow all of their members time to jump into PM and then say to RoK "haha, you can't touch us". Perhaps NSO would have just kept committing one "minor transgression" (as you call it) after another simply to continue pushing the boundaries and "make a stand" against RoK. Perhaps the full NSO government did actually order that aid sent in an intentional move to dare RoK to do something about it, and now that RoK did exactly what they warned they would do, Heft is being made the public scapegoat and the NSO government is trying to claim they tried to "reverse the error made by Heft" so as attempt to shift any blame off of themselves. See how easy that is to just make claims?
 3.
I love me some pancakes in the morning.
Who doesn't love themselves some pancakes in the morning. Pancakes are the single greatest food ever made, in my opinion. And don't even try to bring waffles into the conversation. I'll !@#$%* slap those pansy waffles back to wherever the hell they came from. Edit---
I work in TV production and its the same in my industry, my company phone is on 24-7....just in case.
Ah yes, you understand where I come from then. Yeah, it sucks having the phone on 24-7, especially when you are taking personal days and what not, but it's always those "just in case" issues that could pop at a moment's notice, and always seem to do just that. And if you do go and ever intentionally turn your phone off for even a couple hours, and something major comes up, well, then comes the fun of trying to explain to the bosses why they were unable to reach you when you were needed most and they were calling nonstop trying to make contact with you.
 4.
And as I have demonstrated numerous times in the past, this was Heft's doing, but it was not the doing of the NSO. The NSO did not support Heft's actions, and instead sought to rectify and reverse Heft's error. The attack on NSO is thus unjustified in that NSO is not responsible for the act, Heft is. NSO would only have become responsible had they supported Heft's action or refused to negotiate. Instead they actively sought to negotiate and resolve the issue from the instant that Heft erred.
Is Heft a member of NSO's government in any shape or form? Last I knew, someone in an alliance's government represented that alliance in everything they do on here, and thus actions they take are reflected upon that alliance. I know if I were to pull a dumbass move like Heft did (or any of R.O.C.K.'s government members and leaders for that matter), I would expect those that I (or others) committed the act against to come against R.O.C.K. as a whole as my actions were done while as an official representative of R.O.C.K. When you are a member of an alliance's government, in my eyes and I know for sure in many other eyes, there is no he or she in regards to actions taken by that person. It's viewed as actions taken by an alliance as that person was elected/chosen/promoted to represent that alliance as a member of their government.
Heft IS one of the accepted voices of the NSO. Get that into your head please. If you give someone the power to negotiate on behalf of your alliance then his actions are also on behalf of your alliance.
Basically this.
Who keeps their phone on at the beach? Living your life Wrong.
When I work for a radio station, and since the transmitter has a "phone home" feature that it calls numbers on a list until someone picks up whenever the transmitter goes offline or has an issue, and my number is one of the very first numbers on that list, then yes, I keep my phone on at the beach. If the issue with the transmitter is potentially simple enough that punching in a couple of codes on the keypad on my phone is all that's needed to get the transmitter back up and online again, then I damn sure better have my phone on. And if it's something that requires one of our engineers to personally go out to the transmitter, then it would probably help to have my phone on so I can receive the transmitter call and then alert the engineers to the issue. That and it's company policy to ALWAYS have our company cell phones on and with us wherever we go. So for that reason alone, regardless, I would have my phone on at the beach. Sure, it sucks having work always able to reach me, especially when I want to take some time off, but hey, welcome to life in radio and welcome to real life with a job. Also, as they are our dear allies and all... o/ RoK
 5.
And yes, we would be dying in the first place because our head honcho in charge of those things is too much of a warmonger, idiot, jackass and a pancake to actually say "No!" when it'd be a clever choice.
Damn skippy! And I feel sorry for whoever we would face in that situation, because I'd make sure that if R.O.C.K. had to go out in one last great battle, it'd be the greatest and most glorious war/exit by one alliance ever in CN history!
 6.
Oh don't you worry, you'll be glowing green in no time at all.
Looking forward to it. My nation hasn't glowed green since taking on IRON back in the Karma War last April. It's been too long since I ate a nuke.
 7.
its always easier to come to an allies defense when they are on the side with statistical advantages. With that said, your DoW makes no sense. Its funny that you consider TFD attacking back against RoK to be "hurting" them. Its laughable really, to consider the exercise of their right to defend themselves from attacks as an attack against RoK. And your nuclear policy, stupid, one nuke means you can nuke all of your opponents? So if your at war against multiple alliances, you get one rogue nuke and hit them all? I lol'd. Impressive all around, you certainly are.
I'm sure some parts of the DoW might not be quite as clear logically. The reason that would be is due to the fact that I was the only Defense official on during the time everything happened yesterday, meaning all of my attention was on putting together target packages for our members who would be fighting. Typing up our DoW was a secondary item and something I did literally minutes before I posted it. However, overall, the point does get put across. We were requested by Ragnarok to battle TFD and relieve some pressure from RoK's many fronts that they are fighting on in this war, and we responded. And about the nuclear policy, again, being written in haste has caused one or two errors. As I am in control of R.O.C.K.'s nuclear ordinance, I will only authorize nuclear attacks against those who nuke us first. As for "one nuke means you can nuke all of your opponents", in The Foreign Division's case, then yes, I will authorize release at will for those fighting TFD nations. As far as any other alliances, if nations from other alliances attack us, then our nuclear policy as to their nations is something I will look at at the time such a thing occurs. In a game where one nation can potentially cause a boatload of issues for alliances by a simple action with their nation against another and nations these days seem to be constant representatives of their alliances no matter what or where they are, then I consider one nation of TFD to be a constant representative of their alliance, and a simple action by them can result in action taken against the alliance as a whole. Heck, that's how half of these wars anymore seem to get started for. R.O.C.K. nations are not permitted to release a single nuke without my direct, explicit authorization. Our members have control and can exercise that control. Therefore, as long as no TFD nation first strike nukes a R.O.C.K. nation, no TFD nations will have to worry about being hit by nukes from R.O.C.K. nations. We as an alliance have no issues with fighting this war in purely conventional warfare methods, therefore no nukes. But if TFD decides to take this war to a nuclear level, then we also have no issues with doing the same, and will do exactly that. So it's purely up to TFD and their nations as to if this becomes a nuclear war or not between our alliances.
I don't think that is the reason R.O.C.K joins in. I know that if RoK fought the world, they wouldn't fight it alone because of R.O.C.K
This. SpiderJerusalem gets it 100%. It would not have mattered to me if RoK really was fighting the world, RoK versus every single other alliance in existence. We still would respond and fight by their side, even if it meant the absolute, guaranteed death of our nations. We will go to hell and back for RoK, no matter the circumstances. That is something RoK, and I know for a fact others, recognize. We don't join wars because they are in our favor to win, we join wars because our brothers in arms request our help, and we answer. That is why our treaty with RoK has survived without any danger whatsoever of collapse for all these years. That is why our treaty with RoK will continue to survive for as long as both of our alliances exist.
 8.
Honoring treaties is bandwagoning?
Apparently. We hadn't even planned on joining this war. We were under the assumption that we would spend this war watching and enjoying the rising GRL and dying environment. We went from having nearly all members completely inactive on the forums due to real life, to being officially in this war in less than 12 hours, all at the simple request of Ragnarok. A request that took me less than 1/2 a second to say yes to seeing as they are our longest and closest allies and have had our backs and us theirs since Day 1. The day I decline to come to RoK's aid when they ask us to, is the day that I leave CN forever, which isn't happening anytime soon.
 9.
The Bandwagon grows bigger.
Yeah, that sounds about right coming from someone like you.
 10.
I had no idea you guys were still around. Congratulations, and good luck.
Yeah, we're awesome like that. We're like ninjas. We silently creep along, no one knowing we are there, then all of sudden, we pounce!
You certainly should be. R.O.C.K. are indeed brothers to us and it is great to ride to war with them again. I am shocked to see a lack of RoK/R.O.C.K. puns in this thread though. Heh. Note: Once this war is over, I will resume my attempts to recruit SmoothPancakes into Ragnarok.
And you will also resume your failures at attempting to recruit me into Ragnarok.
 11.
TFD is not trying to hurt Ragnarok.
Maybe not in the sense of them declaring on RoK. But in the sense of them attacking back against Ragnarok, then essentially they are trying to hurt Ragnarok. In any regard, we are just simply coming to the aid of an ally as we were requested to.
 12. Royal Order of Confederate Kingdoms (R.O.C.K.) State of War Over the years, an enormous number of treaties have been signed. In the beginning, treaties were a special bond and a special show of affection between alliances. Sadly, as times have gone on, treaties seem to be as common place these days as toilet paper. Some alliances seem to sign a treaty one day and then dump it or break it the next. Others sign a treaty with every single alliance that they meet. R.O.C.K. meanwhile, since our birth as an alliance many moons and years ago, holds our treaties very close and dear to our hearts. We view our allies not just as temporary war help or frat buddies, but as brothers and family. We have long held a belief that we will only sign treaties that we view as worthwhile and with those alliances that we view as worthy of our trust and safety. Ragnarok is one of those alliances. Ever since the birth of Ragnarok, our alliances have been friends and brothers. They have had our backs, and we have had their backs, even when it meant taking on alliances 3 or 4 times our size, because we are always there for our brothers. When you mess with one RoK, you mess with the other R.O.C.K.. Therefore, due to Ragnarok's request of military aid, we hereby recognize and declare a state of war between R.O.C.K. and The Foreign Division (TFD) as per our MDoAP with Ragnarok. Also, to help keep Yellow on the upswing, R.O.C.K. hereby announces that it has no intentions to fight any fellow yellow alliances that have join the other side of this war. As well, even though the beautiful nuclear weapons have been flying already during this war, R.O.C.K., per our non-first strike policy, will not release any nuclear weapons unless a first strike is launched upon us by The Foreign Division or other entity involved in the war. However, the second a single R.O.C.K. nation is attacked with a nuclear weapon, the entire nuclear arsenal of R.O.C.K. will be authorized for release at will against any and all enemies of R.O.C.K. Signed, R.O.C.K. Royal Nine tl;dr: As per our MDoAP with Ragnarok, R.O.C.K. recognizes itself in a state of war with the The Foreign Division (TFD). Nothing personal, but we loves us some Hoo and will not stand for those trying to hurt him (and I suppose the rest of those in Ragnarok ). o/ R.O.C.K. o/ Hoocakes o/ Ragnarok o/ Allies o/ Radioactive green environments
 13. Welcome to the war. Edit: Holy crap. My first first, and a true first first.
 14. Thanks for all the hails and warm welcome everyone. We are happy to fight beside our allies. Also, today is a big day for R.O.C.K. Before today, only one member in R.O.C.K. had ever been nuked, which happened last summer. Today, 5 R.O.C.K. members, including myself, have eaten a nuke (our first ever nuke eaten for all five of us) for R.O.C.K. and for Karma. o/ eating nukes!
