  1. Some stupid things have been committed by Pink Team alliances of late, but I prefer to base my judgment off of actions taken by spheres as a whole. Thinking back on things, I still believe that the biggest mistakes committed by an entire sphere came from Maroon.
  2. Nothing could possibly go wrong with Nitemare as Shogun! Congratulations to all involved, especially this none person that you've appointed to Daimyo of Foreign Affairs.
  3. I was Thunderforge, and to all the rest of you: you're welcome. You can thank myself, Schattenmann, and all the other former Vox by not making us do it all over again.
  4. We just choose to exercise different portions of our ODAP with FAIL than the rest of Rebel Virginia's allies.
  5. It is with a heavy heart that I announce the resignation of our Mundokiir, Stormsend. Oceana wishes him well in his return to the Mushroom Kingdom, and know that he will prove to be a valuable asset to our protectors in the future. However, in keeping with our Book of Law, which states: ...well, we obviously need to appoint a replacement. Having the blessings of Splash Woman, the former Mundokiir, and the remaining Conclave members, it is my honor to announce that Vedran of Arctica has been appointed to the position of Mundokiir of Oceana. Vedran is a founding member of our alliance dating back to its first incarnation numerous years ago, and has served our alliance both faithfully and skillfully both then and now. Signed in Her Holy Name, Alexei Solstian - Thurokiir of Oceana Ebony Wings - Azukiir of Oceana And, of course, the part you've all been waiting for - a personal favorite from my collection of Splash Pron:
  6. Congratulations to RV. You've certainly earned this.
  7. Once again, FAIL takes the moral high ground. Keep fighting the good fight!
  8. Let's hope it doesn't escalate to that level. Cooler heads may yet prevail in this mass of nonsense, though I doubt it. Edit: Removed a rogue quote. How'd that get in there?
  9. My, what an interesting little turn of events.
  10. I see what you did there. Also, congrats.
  11. Well, let's see... Most of my morals and values (or the lack thereof) transfer from myself to my character, though I think I'm far more provocative and aggressive when I'm in character. The Splash Woman worship is also purely IC, though it's often joked about amongst Oceana's members on IRC. Oh, and I'm reasonably certain that my desire to see the world go up in a blaze of nuclear flames is purely IC.
  12. Having been in both alliances that utilize democracy and those that don't, along with a few who use combination tactics...I'm mostly against the idea of democracy in an alliance. The main reason I go against democracy is that it typically doesn't work in a meritocratic fashion - that is, the person elected to any given position might not be the person most suitable for the job, but rather somebody who compensates for their lack of competence by being the most charismatic (or best known) of the candidates. I also feel that democratic alliances lack consistency. An alliance's stance on the same issue could change radically between elections, and interest groups both foreign and domestic can easily capitalize upon this fact to try and steer an alliance in a given direction.
  13. The hour is getting a bit late at this point, but I'll put it on my to-do list for tomorrow (providing somebody doesn't beat me to the punch before then).
  14. I've thought of some ways in which he could acquire the means to get his hands on a Manhattan Project without much difficulty, but I'm not going to mention them because I don't really want to give him any ideas he doesn't already have. My apologies for that much. Perhaps we could meet privately one evening to discuss the matter, along with your assessment of his character, if you feel so inclined. Moreover, I find that announcing the intent to go nuke rogue is pretty much just as bad as actually carrying out the threats. To that end, I really can't see any reason to allow him off the hook any time soon.
  15. He's already stated that he intends to go nuclear rogue on the lower ranks of the Mushroom Kingdom. They happen to be our protectors, so I take special offense at that notion. The only way to help secure the safety of our own nations and that of our allies is to remove the nuclear threat that Sileath presents - and there's only one way to get rid of a Manhattan Project. As far as him being a decent and sincere individual...what in Splash Woman's holy name are you smoking? Do I really need to recap his recent "antics" to prove my point here?
  16. I would have to agree here. The rest of the Conclave does as well, which means that the ODP is still active and that we're still technically in a state of war with Sileath even though we've never managed to get a war slot and probably never will now that he's using TPF mode. Easiest. War. EVER.
  17. You're absolutely right, and I hate you for even bringing this point up.
  18. I'm certain that Her Holiness will forgive you. Now, onwards to meet the Mallard threat - all of Planet Bob depends upon you in this hour.
  19. Fear not, proud Shroom. I'm certain that Splash Woman will receive you in your noble death. Know that your spirit shall be revered in our halls, even though you couldn't remember our name.
  20. Could this optional treaty network forming around Rebel Virginia be the start of something grander? A political movement? A new super-bloc? Only time will tell.
  21. So the group responsible for Leverage isn't protected any longer? This is going to end fabulously.
