  1. OOC: I'm forced to leave the forums due to a loss of internet access. I wont have internet for quite some time, and I want to apologize for the short notice, I really only found out today. I had lots of fun everyone. Good luck. IC: Due to the lack of stability in the tiny Vatican City, the Pope has decided to rejoin Alvonia, uniting the Italian penninsula and placing the difficult problems of the situation in the much more capable hands of the Alvonian government.
  2. We can accept this offer due to the minial risk factor because of Alvonia's closeness to the Vatican. We have reopened a major route connecting Vatican City and Alvonia.
  3. *********CLASSIFIED********** Because of the dangerous cercumstances I will accept your offer, although no decoy will be allowed to take my place. The Vatican must be notified of a prolongued absence, but I will not release my location.
  4. OOC: I'm not sure what you mean. If your talking about the Vatican military, that has only been suggested, no move was taken yet.
  5. Emergency Meeting Tonight Vatican officials attend an emergency meeting baricaded in the Vatican. Security attempts to monitor every inch of the surrounding area, as heavily armed patrols walk the almost empty streets. The call for an emergency meeting of this magnitude came from Vatcian Secretary of State, Amano Moretti who had this to say, "Due to the current risks involved in further opening borders for foreign personel, we currently cannot accept any aid. This meeting will last most of the night as we decide what action to take in the face of recent sophisticated, organized, and well armed terror within Vatican City. We will announce our decisions in the morning."
  6. Exiting the plane, the Pope was greeted by the Chairman. "Hello Chairman, I am also honored to have been invited to Canada. And my trip was very comfortable, thank you."
  7. Landing in Canada, Pope Paul VII felt a little heavier with stress. Vatican City was facing major threats within and is on the verge of possible great changes. He tries to forget, at least for the visit and with new enthusiasm he exits the plane.
  8. Borders Tightened Today the Vatican Secretary of State declared a tightening of borders, limiteting travel almost completely to air travel, and chocking off much of the usual tourism. Today squads attacked several small targets again today leading to a much larger confrontation with the Vatican Guard. Out numbered and out gunned, the Guard took many casualties retreating again and again attempting to gain a foot hold on every street corner leading to St. Peter's Basilica. Civil Guardsman- "We eventually had to move the bulk of the entire active guard to the streets. The shootout was like nothing we had ever experienced, I saw men on the front lines droppiong like flies to shotguns, automatics, and even sniper fire. We have no clue as to where these guys got these weapons, why their doing this, or even who they are." After hours of fighting the squads retreated and disappeared from sight while snipers kept guardsmen from advancing. The bloody confrontation left 19 Guardsmen dead and 34 wounded while the squads quickly carried away their dead and wounded. The current situation led to an emergency Vatican meeting even involving th ePope by phone to decide on a course of action. Our cameras where not allowed in but we were allowed to listen in a bit before being escorted away by guardsmen. Several cardinals immidiatly called for a large militant Vatican force. Their calls grew in number eventually being joined in by the Vatican Secretary of State. How a large force could be managed or even put together is beyond anyone where able to speak to. As the events of the week continue to unfold, it becomes less clear to anyone.
  9. OOC: if you could hold for a while I'll certainly be part of this RP but I think its important to follow my tour in as much order as possible.
  10. The Vatican sees no reason to accept the accused Father Abbanov especially if he is found guilty.
  11. "Simply tell me what you need. Man-power is lacking, but political or financial support is available. Just tell us. We are currently in the midst of orchastrating certain "events" within Vatican City that will push, even the concent of the Pope for a Vatican military. While the total population is small, millions of tourists come each year and thousands from around the world come to be trained mostly as missionaries for the Vatican. Our plan must work around our lack of population to amass a huge mercenary force to operate effectively as the Vatican military. In time we would effectively be able to send this recognized force to locations around the world, publicly aiding forces such as your own. We are also working swiftly to infultrate major corporations, but I cannot say much more than that now."
  12. Terrorism Hits Vatican City *Special Report* Early this evening a highly organized terrorist attack shattered a peaceful day in Vatican City. Officials say coordinated attacks took place in several parts of the city. Up to eight car bombs detonated simultaneously while 3 groups of heavily armed men stormed several buildings. An official released this statement, "3 of these squads where reportedly seen meeting at the monument of St. Peter seconds before the blasts began. From there these squads of 6 or more men each split up. The first group hit the Civil Administration Building but where slowed down by a shoot-out with security there, the 2nd group hit the more vulnerable Radio Station killing 5 people and holding the rest hostage, we have surrounded the Radio Station and are attempting to open a dialogue with the men now, while the 3rd group abondoned their target once quickly running into heavy security in the direction of the Basilica." The attacks come to a surprise to every inhabitant of the city. Everyone rests a bit easier knowing the Pope is still abroad on his world tour, and is not in any immediate danger, but for the rest of us here at home what will come of this terror? And why has it arrived in Vatican City, and with such force? VCN will be launching an under cover operation following investigatiors and city officials as everyone tries to piece together this dangerous puzzle. All people are advised to stay indors and travel only in groups, keeping a vigilant watch on their streets for any suspicious activity. Empty streets of Vatican City
  13. We can send 630 missionaries followed by another 320 once the later complete their studies. After that no more ready missionaries will be available until the next portion complete their training and studies. In one month we will have several thousand more missionaries prepared to dispatch to other parts of the globe.
  14. We are prepared to send up to 1000 missionaries to Alvonia as long as there is no problem with the Alvonian government.
