1. Um, that is what I wrote. Sal seems to have mistaken the comma for a period.
2. I see your mistake... Pro tip: It's not a good idea to stop reading 1/2 way thru a sentence.
3. Oblivious to the fact that it's in part a 9/11 memorial itself. Funny how that detail is ignored...
4. I'm aware of that. I was responding to a claim that they didn't have a legal leg to stand on unless they owned the land.
5. The point? They already operate out of the location, only when trying to expand did this blow up into an issue.
6. The above is known as Amendment 1 - Freedom of Religion, Press, Expression; Constitution of the United States of America. To deny Muslims the right to build this mosque is, if nothing else, a gross violation of Constitutional Law. Our gov't can't establish any 1 or number of religions as official, our gov't can't establish any 1 or any or number of religions as preferred over any 1 or number of other religions and most relevant to the subject at hand, our gov't can't bar anyone from practicing their religion (no matter how much we all want to muzzle the Scientologists ). The above alone, at least legally, should end the debate but the subject is far more complicated. America is or so we claim, to be a land of freedom, enlightenment and tolerance. America is "the city on the hill". To deny American Muslims or any American the right to worship is to forget ourselves, to abandon the ideals of the Republic and to go down a path that will lead to the end of our world honored civilization. It is a path of darkness, decay and tyranny. It is a path, that being recognized for what it was, led to the foundation of American civilization itself. To abandon this heritage is nothing less then treason. Having noted the legal and moral flaws of the opposition, let me end with a bit of strategic thinking. We have, no matter how much we wish to forget it, caused great harm to Islamic civilization over the last century and over the past 3 decades, they've returned the favor with the vigor and zeal that would be admirable if better placed. So long as extremists on both sides reopen old wounds while throwing salt, our world shall never know peace. To allow the construction of this American mosque, in this American city on this most hollowed of American soil would be a testament not only to the ideals of our great Republic but to our commitment to peace and values of the Enlightenment. It would give us the morale and political high ground while removing the credibility 1 of the enemies greatest weapons, the propaganda that we are at war not with extremism but Islam itself. Let us defeat those who twist the word of God with honor and truth, to continue as we have is only to aid their efforts. Where is the logic in that? Let peace and honor become our watchwords. Let us abandon the path of darkness that, blinded by fear, anger and hatred, we have mistakenly tuned down.
7. OOC: Sorry, was a way for a few days them my internet crapped out when i got back... I can't find any towns on the maps I'm looking at, can we just agree that it's some railroad town? We have a few major railroad crossings after all.
8.
OOC: Okay, then give me the name of a town (RL) along our border, I will RP out an incident in which my forces would cross the border to engage a few of your rebel troops, ostensibly with high ideals but technically an invasion, k?
OOC: Sounds good.
9.
OOC: I will not attack within your land as I have no IC cause to do that. If your rebels attack my border posts, i will retaliate, otherwise for all intents and purpose it is your internal RP.
OOC: I understand that, that's why I said RP a minor attack on a relatively important target and then retaliate with a raid on a rebel base of some sort (a radar station maybe?). I just need cause for the rebels to escalate things, you don't need to RP some game changing decisive battle. I'd do it myself, but I don't know what you have and don't want to RP an attack on a non-existent target.
10. OOC: I'm at a lose here. The rebels will win but how and do they win this battle or do they get driven off and have to come back later? Cochin, please launch you attack as I PMed you. Nothing big, just a small counter attack to some terrorist attack on a fright train station or something. I need to escalate this but need a reason for the rebels to do so.
11. Evil? Na, not anymore. Frankly, I'm getting bored with the lack of major alliance wars. Still, peace is proving to be quite profitable for me, so meh.
12.
People seem to hate me, kicking me out of where I was all the time. Is someone in the Oceanic Pact or elsewhere in Asia willing to give me some land? Thanks.
http://forums.cybernations.net/index.php?showtopic=89605 Just thought I'd throw that out there. You get to be a crazy, Protestant, theocratic, terrorist, ultra nationalistic rebel nation! Oh, and you can't be conquered (only applies to your starting land) without my say so, so you can be crazy too!
13.
I can has land?! /JED sees the words "anyone who isn't in RP but wishes to join" Aww...dang. Will you make an exception for me? Plwese?
Um... Not unless you reroll.
14. I'm currently engaged in an RP, Trouble in the South. Overall, it's a free RP which is to say the story line isn't set and can go in any direction based on the actions of the RPers. Their is 1 glaring exception, my southernmost provence will fall to the rebels and will remain under rebel control once the RP runs it's course. Once I RP the rebel takeover, I'll offer control of the rebels to anyone who isn't in RP but wishes to join and while I'll oppose you as an illegitimate state, you will control the provence as if it was your own nation. The only restriction is that I reserve the right to crush your rebellion and reclaim the land at anytime (not that I'll be a dick and do that). So if anyone wants their own nation but wishes to RP with a twist, apply here. I'll make my decision when the time comes. And yes, being a free RP you can overthrow my gov't and take over the whole nation, though the above restriction still applies and I'll continue to RP as a royal pain in your $@! trying to get my country back. 15. New Ulaanbaatar, inside the Constitutional Convention building: Jacob appears on tv screens across the nation, "Still you refuse!" He walks over to a guard, the camera following him reveling a young 20something Mongol woman, takes his weapon, an old AK-47 and opens up on the hapless woman. Turning to the camera, he smiles, "Do you not know our resolve? Outside the Constitutional Convention building: Lt. Gen. Yesugei looks away from the communications station with a look of disgust. After a few moments he looks to his men, For the Mongol Federation... For the great Khan Batukhan, we shall drive out these rebels, we shall deny them this victory!" He then turns to an aid, "Gather the general staff, I have orders that need to be given." Temüjin Station: Thomas looked on in disbelief, he knew that a loyalist counter attack on Air Sector had, against all odds, been repulsed but this wasn't what he expected to find when he arrived. Rather then a battered and dejected force, in aw at their luck, he found a jubilant force, at nearly full strength and now in control of the CCC and even a small barracks building at the edge of Army Sector! "Well... This is... Not what I expected." A solder, sent to escort him around the base, smiled, "God himself gave us the strength to overcome. If you can spare reinforcements we can take the base and..." "...With it the entire khanate," Thomas finished. "Yes sir, the local forces here are sparse, it's why we were able to use it as a staging area. Take the base and resistance will fall apart here." Thomas smiled an evil smile, "For that matter, it'll cripple loyalist forces across the country."
16. After a few hours, Thomas, now clean, once more appeared on the national airwaves, "Still the false khans refuse to surrender. And so still must the hostages suffer." An older Mongol woman, as before, is shoved into view and presented for the nation. "This delegate is from 1 of the oldest tribes, tracing her lineage back to Mongol unification under Temüjin." Thomas once more pulls his sidearm, this time walking behind her as the guard backs off, places the gun at the base of the neck and fires. The woman jerks forward as Thomas, this time unblemished, continues to stare into the camera. "Surrender!" After the camera stops rolling, Thomas pulls his 2nd, Jacob, to the side, "The government will not stand by as we systematically execute the delegates. Knowing Batukhan and his ilk, he and his 'khans' will ether bow to our demands or come in, guns blazing, to hell with the hostages. I intend to leave lest I find myself here and the 2nd scenario comes to pass as I expect it will. You will remain to avoid suspicion." "So you intend to sacrifice me?!" "If I did, do you think I'd tell you of my plan? No, they'll not move until the next execution. It'll take at least an hour for them to get in place, so wait 1/2 an hour. If they capitulate, my absence will allow you to claim the glory of victory, if not you'll still have 1/2 an hour to get clear yourself." "God's will be done," Jacob bows and walks away.
17. Amazingly the 2nd pilot managed to survive the attack and upon landing was given a hero's welcome for forcing down the interloper. Meanwhile in the capital, Thomas led a daring raid on the Constitutional Convention taking the delegates hostage. On every major news station in the nation, he appeared. As the people watched on in horror a delegate was roughly dragged into view and forced to his knees, a robed guard leveling an AK-47 at his back, "This man is a source of weakness for the Mongol people. Only I, armed with the power of God can lead our people to greatness!" Thomas then looks coldly at the hostage, pull out his sidearm, a Glock 32, placed it against the hostage's temple and pulled the trigger. With a crack and flash, the hostage's head jerked violently to the side before he fell dead, his brains and blood splattering on Thomas' side. Calmly looking up, Thomas smiled, "I'll keep killing them until the false khans capitulate to my rule."
18. Warnings rang out, and the lead pilot quickly radioed his wingman, "SAMs just went active, this !@#$%^& isn't worth it. Return to base." "Screw that, I'm going in for the kill." "He hit the deck! You'll never get a lock." "I'm almost in cannon range, time for a dog fight." The lead pilot looked at his radar, "Be advised, they just left our airspace." "I don't care..." Finally in weapons range the 2nd pilot gets a bead on the Merat and opens fire as the lead pilot holds position just inside Mongol Federation airspace.
19. I'm with Fizzydog, you're to awesome to have an empty comment page!

20. Anyone remember the "Scramble for..." threads? Fun times.
21. The lead pilot smiled, they had no idea they were hostile. On a secure channel he radioed base, "Enemy contact has misidentified us as Loyalist forces and is withdrawing, requesting orders." "Engage if they remain in our airspace at intercept, if they manage to get across the border 1st, return to base." The pilot frowned, "Roger that." He then radioed his wingman (OOC: still secure), "If we want this kill, we need to catch it before it leaves our airspace." "Roger that, going to full military power." The 2 jets flew ever faster, wether or not war between the CLA and Cochin started with this encounter would come down to a race.
22. Mongol Federation/Kingdom of Cochin border: Looking at his radar screen, a CLA rebel noticed a contact approaching the border. As it came to within 5 miles of the border he radioed an airbase that the rebels had constructed for their captured aircraft from Temüjin Station, "This is Early Warning Station 5, Cochin contact approaching the border." Receiving the warning, the commander of the airbase got on the base intercom, "All pilots man your aircraft for intercept, I repeat all pilots man your aircraft for intercept." Within 10 minutes 2 F-15s soared into the sky and approached the enemy contact.
