  1. Quoted myself since you obviously missed my reply to Mogar. The fact is that any Pacifica applicant is provided with the information BEFORE they are admitted as a full member. And given that the policy on desertion is extremely common, it should not be unexpected. Moreover, in the case at hand, the members that left were all veterans, or at least that is my understanding. Therefore, they were well aware of the policy and the potential ramifications of their actions. That being said, I am not labeling them as deserters, scum or any other insulting term; I am simply stating that members of NPO are justified in stating that the prodigals were in violation of Pacifican law. You would have had a similar reaction from the proletariat of just about any alliance around. However, cooler and wiser heads (in this case one with horns and the mandate of heaven) prevailed and exercised a rather admirable degree of wisdom in dealing mercifully and pragmatically with the situation. If you want to troll NPO, please feel free to do so but at least pick subject matter that is worthwhile and justified. This particular topic is certainly neither.
  2. LOL, of course not. The quote was simply to demonstrate your hypocrisy in criticizing NPO for adhering to a policy that you, as a Triumvir of IRAN, support as an integral aspect of your alliance's policies and procedures. True enough, NPO's charter is a model of brevity and simplicity. However, I do believe that the membership requirements are included as part of the academy process. Any nation applying for NPO membership will (or at least should) be aware of those requirements before their membership is finalized.

  4. ...During peacetime, a member may elect to leave IRAN, but is required to give 72 hours advance notice. Members are not allowed to desert during any active war without express permission from a majority of the Triumvirs. Any member that deserts IRAN without notice during peacetime or without permission during war will be ZId... That is from IRAN's charter on their Wikipage. ...Leaving during a declared time of war is considered desertion. You may leave Ragnarok if you so choose, but you will be considered a deserter... That is from Ragnarok's charter on their Wikipage. ...A member who leaves during war will be classified as a deserter... That is from Soldier's charter on their Wikipage. I could add more, but I think you get my point.
  5. Laws are laws. People who join alliances are able to review the laws before they join and agree to abide by them. If you don't think through the consequences before you join, then the fault is yours, not the alliance's. I happen to know that Mogar's current alliance has the same definition of desertion in its charter...hypocrisy much? Purposely ignoring the facts about graduated stages of hostility and the requirements imposed on members during each stage, just comes across as purposeless and idiotic trolling. But I understand that you have to go with your strengths, CSM. See comment directed at CSM. True enough. I enjoy each episode of TWIP, but not for the journalistic content. Rather, it is the plethora of mindless responses spewed by the audience that I find entertaining and which cause me to remember the quote from Albert Einstein: "Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former." This episode also brings to mind the title of one of the Immortal Bard's plays. Much Ado About Nothing
  6. I must say that I rarely agree with the statements made by the various members of Vox and their proponents, but these words have the absolute ring of truth.
  7. It is a takeoff on the preamble of the US constitution.
  8. The only thing I have to say about this is that resorting to OOC attacks in response to IC actions is an admission of IC failure. The same applies to people who reroll and continue their previous nation's persona and/or vendetta. If you have deleted, then your IC character is DEAD. Deal with it and move on to another IC character. People that reroll and continue the previous character are by definition OOC. The word that best describes anyone that pursues OOC actions is "pathetic".
  9. EDIT: THE CIRCLE IS COMPLETE! OK, you guys should know the drill. The 3 bonus resource set gives you Construction, Fast Food and Beer. The variation I am looking for has Uranium for nuclear capacity. This set gives the maximum population boost, good infra reduction costs and a good happiness boost. Some consider it to be the best trade set around. This will be a PURPLE circle; if you want to join you will need to switch to the Purple Team. I have also posted a thread in the RE forums and have sent out lots of pms in the game. As responses come in I will update here and in the RE forum thread.
