  1. Well, we did offer white peace... [ooc]So, is it considered an OOC attack to put down my "assets?" :P[/ooc] Edit: Typing be hard
  2. A Message from the Emperor of the New Pacific Order The New Pacific Order values her allies. We entered this war in order to defend one such ally - the New Sith Order - from the aggression of the Polar Coalition, and our nations have fought admirably for that goal, receiving a total of 9.8 million NS in damage and dealing back 10.5m, constituting (with a large margin) both the highest damage received and highest damage dealt in this war. This is an achievement which would not have been possible without the help of all our allies, who have also shed a lot of their strength in the process of trying to counter the vast numerical superiority of our foes. However, recent developments have made it clear that at least one of the goals of the Aggressor's coalition is not just the settlement of any grievances with the New Sith Order, but also the crippling of the New Pacific Order's post-war position as well. Throughout several weeks of negotiations, the aggressor coalition has consistently demanded terms that would see all our remaining top and mid-tier nations - 33 in total - be removed from all post-war economic activity via aid-restrictions for a period of over 4 months. These are cash-laden and infra-heavy nations that are capable of aid-bombing our hard-hit lower tiers, and are thus crucial to our economic development. The economic suppression of 33 nations over 4 months would deny us the use of 2376 aid slots - equivalent to 14-21bn of cash aid (depending on the usage of FAC's). Considering that the average schedule in our world sees a war every 6-8 months, the denial of this amount of aid would severely compromise the Order's ability to meaningfully contribute in a future conflict by hitting hardest the nations that have fought a lot in this war (and will not be able to get aid to recover their infrastructure) as well as reducing tech-dealing levels across the alliance. We do not hold any grudge against our opponents for wanting to push hard terms on us. When an alliance is capable of causing 10.5m damage on you (and particularly when it is an alliance you dislike), it is understandable to make efforts in crippling them so as to prevent a repeat performance. Whilst we do not generally share the sentiment of pushing for harsh terms, and have resisted them since our reformation in Karma, we do understand the strategic vision behind them, and can respect our opponents for their foresight. However, that does not mean the Order will simply capitulate. A peace that cripples us before the next war whilst allowing everyone else to recover is a peace that is worse than the status quo of continuing the war (where nobody's lower tier can rebuild at 100% until it is over) - and thus we cannot accept it. This does not mean that we do not want peace - we will continue negotiating for a settlement - however we will not be strong-armed into accepting an awful deal. Even in a losing war, the Order has plenty of fight in it. We do realize that the New Pacific Order's continued fight against the aggressors that want to maim us also means that our allies continue to suffer damage at the hands of those same foes - allies which, for the most part, are able to exit this war without consequence. We have made it clear to all our allies that we consider all obligations and bonds of friendship between us to be satisfied with the current level of fighting and suffering they have gone through, and we will not force or ask them to continue fighting if they are able to get a way out. The New Pacific Order is fully prepared to fight for our post-war economic freedom alone, even if that will mean getting further dogpiled. To date, our allies have been horrified by the harshness of punishment that the aggressors seek to inflict on the Order, and have refused to leave - but we welcome them to seek a settlement at any time. With or without our allies however, this war continues. Not because of any need to "protect" the New Polar Order from a "threat" (any NSO threat having long since been neutralized), or because the New Pacific Order will not be "reasonable" in accepting a !@#$%* deal, but because of one simple truth: Both sides are fighting to influence the post-war strategic environment. The Aggressors want to prevent their opponent's recovery, and the Defenders want to preserve their economic freedoms. However, as the English dramatist Douglas William Jerrold said, "We love peace, but not peace at any price." 3. Context, as in everything, is key. Read the verses after. [ooc]ITT: We learn Tywin forgot not to take the Bible literally.[/ooc]
  4. You are completely and offensively wrong. Polar's fighting hard. Your allies? Yeah... not so much. I am legitimately sad that you've thrown CCC into our meatgrinder, all reports I've gotten so far show that these nations are horribly built for war. One of my targets has a 6 mil WC at 10k... and hasn't had a war since March. Ouch. You can keep on harping on us for the PM thing, but our percentage (last I looked, 28%) isn't that much greater than Polar's (19%) and is significantly less than TOP (51%), Sparta (44%), and MI6 (55%). So, like I said earlier in this conversation, those in glass houses...
  5. This feels really weird to say but... o/ GOD
  6. OS, I look forward to working with you. Let's not forget a huge o/ to OsRavan for finally retiring all his hard work.
  7. If your side would actually deign to, y'know, offer terms, we might be able to counter offer. That's generally how these things work. It's hard to counter something that hasn't been first offered. # of nations in PM * amount of aid not able to be sent = around 20 billion. It gets even worse when you figure in the lost income of those nations.
  8. WANA's making sure everyone's on the same page. Which, laugh all you want... but that's not something you can always say is true around these parts anymore :P
  9. I meant more that even though our coalition is grossly outnumbered, coalition v. coalition the damage output has been fairly even. This is likely because your coalition has targeting problems. Even out numbered, for example, we've been able to cycle people in and out of PM to restock. That's pretty sad. I just want to point out the hilarity of this statement in a DoW thread against one of those alliances.
  10. It's not the number of allies you have, it's what you do with them.
  11. I suppose Polar wasn't able to do enough damage to us, so they're moving on to Us? [/terrible pun]
  12. As usual, I've lost IQ points reading one of your posts. Can I have them back, please?
  13. I'm not sure it's possible for you to get any (un)classier, IRON.
  14. Notice of Cancellation This world is one noted for its many relationships changes. Over the years, alliances shift their allegiances; friends can become enemies, and enemies can become friends. Relationships are fluid, changing just as alliances themselves change. It is therefore all the more notable when a relationship remains steady throughout such upheavals. For almost seven years the New Pacific Order and the Independent Republic of Orange Nations have maintained the Cordiality Accords; a treaty of Civility, Non-Aggression, Intelligence Sharing and Optional Assistance in Foreign Conflicts. During these seven years, our relationship has had many ups and downs, but both parties have always stood as friends, never opposing each other on the battlefield. For both the Order and the Republic, it is a relationship without equal in its historic significance and resilience. It is therefore with immense regret and no small amount of debate that we had to deliver the notice of this treatys cancellation earlier this evening. Per Article IV, Section 2, this treaty shall be void in 3 days. For seven years, the Order and the Republic never stood on opposite ends of the battlefield; however, this changed when IRON decided to enter, via a treaty of optional aggression, on an aggressive war upon our sphere and specifically upon our ally in TLR. Whilst we can appreciate the reasons that led IRON to this decision and hold them no ill-will for deciding to pick the side on which they have the most allies, we can also no longer in good faith maintain a stance of non-aggression with them when they are in the middle of beating down our ally. To do so would be a disservice to the bonds of allegiance between NPO and TLR, as well as our duty to our allies in the wider coalition. We can also no longer in good faith maintain a policy of intelligence sharing with the Republic when IRON without sharing this information with the Order has actively been involved in the planning and execution of a coalition whose end goal (even if by unfortunate necessity rather than desire) can only succeed by inflicting widespread destruction on the New Pacific Order and its allied sphere. We can no longer maintain a policy of intelligence sharing when, in return, the New Pacific Order is forced to take a leading role in a coalition that has to plan a defense against IRONs attack a defense that by unfortunate necessity will mean damages for the Republic. To do so would be a great disservice to our duties to all of our allies in our coalition. Whilst we greatly appreciate the many conflicts of interest and hard decisions that IRON has had to make over the past few months, hard decisions can only be called so because they have a price. In this situation, the price has been one of the worlds most long-standing and cherished relationships. Despite our disappointment, and despite the necessity of this war forcing us on opposite sides, the Order bears no grudge against the Republic for its decisions. We will continue to regard them as a friendly alliance, and commit ourselves to maintaining the atmosphere of civility that was enshrined in this treaty. It is our sincere hope that, whatever path they have managed to gain access to through these decisions, they will come to find the benefits to be worth the price. Farrin Xies, Emperor of the New Pacific Order The Lone Star Emperor Red, Imperial Regent of the New Pacific Order
  15. Y'know, I can agree with at least the second half of this statement.
  16. Pacifica truly is the greatest evil on Planet Bob, to unleash such aural attacks.
  17. Welcome to the fight, NATO and TIO. A couple of damned good allies, there. o/
  18. In possibly related news, NG's been bitching about back pain.
