The European Economic Summit of 2013 opens! Prussia, The Worker’s Republic, and Uppland Duchy all have representatives that are attending. This summit is purely economic. All talk of foreign affairs or issues with another nation that does not pertain to the economic affairs of the European continent will be stopped, and the representative asked to leave the room for the remainder of the day. The topics that will be discussed are tariffs, infrastructure, research, and trading. The current topic on the table are tariffs. There are no conditions on this topic, but remain on topic or we will have to intervene. Our host, Uppland Duchy, will be represented first, and have opening remarks. ~ Leonardo Gomez, International Mediator for the Summit Thank you Mr.Gomez. First we would like to thank all nations that have sent a representative for the next couple days. Our current stance on tariffs is minimal. Together we can grow and limiting the tariffs on all European goods will allow us to do that. A small tariff will allow our own industries to develop, but not damaging enough to hinder any national imports and exports. A tariff of 3% on imported European goods, and a tariff of 5% on imported non-European goods will still give our domestic industries room to expand while giving other nations’ industries expand even further. The rate is debatable, but we believe that non-European goods should have at least a double tariff on them. Otherwise our industries and markets can easily be taken over by North America, or the Asian industries. ~ Adina Eklof, Minister of Economics

King Charles would like to invite all the representatives that are going to be attending the summit to stay in Drottningholm Palace. The Winner Is... August 10th, 2013 The elections ended last night at 12:00am. There were many claims within our borders that one party had won majority of the house while the other side claimed they did. Today the King would like to announce the number of seats given. Conservative Party - 54 seats (45%) Liberal Party - 48 seats (40%) Labour Party - 11 seats (9.1%) Socialist Party - 5 seats (4.1%) Environmentalist Party - 2 seats (1%) As the results of the election has shown, no party will have a majority in the house. However, together the Labour and Conservatives have had a historic political alliance, thus giving the majority of the house to the Conservatives and Labour parties. With that alliance, the Liberal Party had no choice but to form an alliance with the Socialist and Environmentalist Party. With these alliances in the house the Conservatives lead the majority (54%) while the Liberals lead the minority (46%). King Charles made the following statement. This election has made history for our great country! We have elected our first representatives and begun to develop our once destroyed country. This outcome shows my cabinet, and myself that the country has its divisions, but the entire country has been represented accordingly. My hopes for this house is to continue to develop Uppland Duchy, and expand our economic prowess to aid the entire European continent. The Catholic Church of Uppland Duchy grieves the loss of the Pope. The church aired the following message on the National Upplander Television Station (NUTS): "We are all full of grievance due to the most recent events in the Vatican. The Pope has gone to our father, and we all shall see him one day. We ask that all flags within Uppland Duchy are dropped to half mast. This weekends masses will be in honor of the Pope. Praise the Lord!" The request of the church was not an obscene request. All government buildings will be flying their flags at half mast till Monday, August 12th.

Elections Open for the First Time August 8th, 2013 With the successful reunification of Sweden, a new chamber needs to be elected. All citizens of the former Sweden, and citizens of Uppland Duchy have the right to vote on their representative. For any new citizens, your polling place will be your local fire hall. Please attend this great event in our history, and vote for your very first representative as a new nation!

Ports are Re-opened August 6th, 2013 While our military was pushing through the country it managed to destroy the former ports in Stockholm, Malmo, and Helsinborg. The military managed to take these ports early in June. Ever since then the government has organized a program to get the ports up, and running. After months of working on them 24 hours and 7 days a week, Stockholm is fully functional while Malmo, and Helsinborg are working at 70% efficiency. These ports now allow us to ship Lumber and Oil to any country in the world.

A New Nation Rises From the Ashes August 8th, 2013 After years of turmoil, and unrest in the uncivilized Swedish homeland, a new nation has risen from the ashes. The former representatives of Uppland have banded together to help form this new nation. They took the basic government structure of their former nation, and put into their region in early June 2013. It didn't take long for the newly former nation, military, and economy to trump the surrounding counties. The Upplander Army advanced throughout the forests, plains, and hills with much success. The small nation quickly pushed throughout the area, and conquered all of Sweden. With this accomplishment, the former Uppland County shall now be called Uppland Duchy, and control these lands. The government opens its borders to the nations of the world to discuss issues, trade, and advance together.

I claim Sweden as the Uppland Duchy.

The rebels of Valencia have fought 154 days to secure their control of Spain. On this day, 500 rebel soldiers secured the Congress of Deputies, and shortly after, captured the Palacio de Villa. The beer, wine, and whatever other alcohol the rebels could find, was drunk. The rebels have established their control over Madrid with minimal losses, and forcing the Spanish government to abdicate. The president of Spain, and his family retreated back, with the remnants of the Spanish military into the cities of Salamanca,and Zamora. The main rebel force chased the remaining government of Spain into the cities. Quickly, the cities became major battles. The defenses of Salamanca were bombarded for two hours, while the rebels waited for the sun to fall in the once beautiful city of Salamanca. As the sun fell over the city, the horizon became a firestorm. Rebel tanks, stolen from the Spanish armory at Barcelona, fired armor piercing shells into the city. The shells chopped men in half, blew buildings sky high, and even destroyed the ammo depot in the city. The tanks quickly roared into the city with rebel soldiers on the top firing wildly into the Spanish soldiers. The rebels managed to cross the mile gap between the two armies in less than three minutes. The overwhelming speed of the rebels threw the Spanish soldiers back almost through the entire city. In Zamora, the Spanish defenses were weaker than Salamanca's, but they still managed to hold. The rebels did the same strategy as they did in Salamanca. As the sun fell, the Spanish attacked the rebel defenses, over a mile outside of Zamora! The rebels were forced to retreat to the high grounds of Monotana Salio. The rebel artillery in the hills managed to halt the Spanish attack, just ten miles outside the capital of Madrid. The rebels regrouped, and prepared for a counterattack on the Spanish left flank. The Spanish had forgotten about the small town of Galgapar. The rebels pushed through the town, and reappeared behind the Spanish mainline. The rebel force cut off 100 Spanish soldiers in the small grassy area, 200 meters in front of Monotana Salio. The small grassy area quickly became a firestorm that looked as if hell itself was coming straight out of the ground. By the time the sun rose on April 14th, the rebels had managed to get into the outskirts of Zamora. So let's party in the new capital, Valencia! The beer is great, and the women are even better! In this interview, I tried to stay neutral, and to try, and just get the facts instead of the biased answers from both sides. Here it is, and feel free to comment. Someone actually proved the images were never altered although their formats were changed. Impero gave me the screenshots and asked me to download them to my computer and upload them to a site that wasn't connected to him. The image format wasn't the important part, what WAS important was that they didn't come from a link associated with Impero. So when I downloaded the <Lennox> images (as .jpg) I reuploaded them to imageshack which automatically uploads to a .png format. Thats why in the image link you will see xxxxxxxxjpg.png <Lennox> A CN member actually proved that was the case and that the image was identicaly pixel for pixel with the .jpg original. <KarlP> Alright so you double uploaded the screenshots to cover the tracks? <Lennox> Let me try to explain again if I was unclear. <KarlP> no i got it <Lennox> Impero sent me links that were associated with one of his accounts online. Revenge? Boredom? <Lennox> Mainly boredom, revenge was pretty much just a cover I used. I pretty much forgave Polar for what they did to NSO, even to the point of leading an effort to restore relations with them. As the war developed, NpO eventually secured peace for themselves without telling NSO and continued to let us be attacked. (We were fighting some absurdly unbalanced war both in in number of nations and sheer nation strength).
