Congratulations STA. You weighed up everything and went with the massively superior side (56m V 118m) in this war to fight against the people who had your back only a a week or so ago for the side you were fighting against. This will never be forgotten and regularly brought up in the future. I cant see it as anything other that picking the larger side, which is sad because I never expected an alliance like STA to do something like that.

You're right, STA are in the wrong. I am sure there is a clause in their treaty with MK that absolves them of all obligations should MK find itself on the larger side of a war :v:

<&Moridin> Jaym a better name would've been "An UINExpected Party"
    <&Moridin> let's be honest here

    Repeated for great justice.

    Congratulations to both parties!

    So. Much. Better.

Either way, o/ UINE. Glad to have you guys for allies :)

  3. One thing I think this discussion is missing is the curious timing of TOP and IRON's DoW's. It was clear that they could enter the war via treaties several days before they posted their preemptive DoW. Why did they wait so long? Given the following (correct the assumptions I've made if they are not true), it seems as though none of this conspiracy theory stuff would have ever popped up if they had declares even one day prior:

    1. Grub made surrender terms clear from the very beginning, and made it known that they could be accepted whenever.

    2. \m/, for whatever reason, decided to wait until one full round of wars was complete before they would accept the terms. Grub was not aware of this, but the \m/ front was going to end on the night that it did regardless of other goings on in the war.

    3. TOP and co. were planning on hitting CnG, a fact that I assume Grub and the rest of the coalition leaders were aware of. The orange alliances did not act immediately for some reason or another, which lead to their declaration coinciding almost exactly with a peace agreement that couldn't have really been anticipated at a given time.

So this leaves the question- why did the orange alliances wait so long? If it was at Grub's urging, this indeed suggests a setup. Otherwise, simply a coincidence of epic proportions. This by no means absolves Grub of failing to inform TOP and IRON of the peace deal as it was being finalized, but I think it can put to rest the issue of a setup.

Just read the replies to any Polar announcement from the last month or two and it should be abundantly clear that TOP liked Polar before this war began.
Or they wanted to portray themselves as liking Polar. Everyone knew this war was coming, and NpO and allies were really the only power group that could be counted as an "unknown". So it follows that TOP would want to give them every reason to end up fighting on TOP's side rather than CnG's.

This war was comming either way, our little tiff just provided a bigger spark than the Athens-TFP incident. I believe and I hope its true for Polaris that when our thing kicked off neither of us seen it going down like this. Although I hope some are coming to understand the real tragedy of a mexican standoff.

o/ NpO, you were awesome adversaries.
Pretty much this. Even if this were a trap (you've got to be pretty daft to think so), it's not like it would have changed anything. It should have been clear the moment ODN started getting all cozy with CnG who the winning side was likely to be.

It's truly a shame that this is happening, I for one had my opinion of TOP and IRON changed for the better when I learned they were going to step up for us. (Of course, I didn't know that they would be preemptively attacking our allies instead of defending our mutual allies in NSO  ) I'd rather not see them rolled like this, but it's just the way things worked out.

o/ \m/, it certainly was fun while it lasted.

Stronger then TOP is in reference to the countless posts by NSO that run along this line of thought here: http://forums.cybernations.net/index.php?showtopic=79563
NSO has claimed in the past that it has set several new precedents; which is debatable :)

Ah, I see. Well that clears it up quite a bit then.

But I still disagree... so I must find a way to to criticize it...

    Paint. The best tool ever.

I understand the general anti-Sith sentiment of the piece but... what? "Stronger then[sic] TOP"- In what way? "Creator of precedents" - which precedents would those be? What does either thing have to do with the NSO content? I suppose the piece is a success if its goal is to leave the viewer vaguely angry at the creator, but other than that... :gag:

On closer inspection the part where his name is mentioned look a little wierd.. the text is slightly higher than the rest of the line.

The font is a bit off too, looks bolder than the rest. This could definitely be altered.

    Paint is all the rage.

This would be an extremely scathing bit of propaganda if it resembled what actually happened in even a vague sense. As it stands its not really an anti-NpO piece. More like anti-ignorance.

Edit: or anti-AUT, whichever you like.
