1. To those whom we fought against, it was well fought and a pleasure going against you. Best of luck to everyone in rebuilding.
2. Best of luck with this. I'll definitely be interested in viewing the findings and solution of this community effort.
3. While the Native Mexican government had hoped for a quick recognition of status to begin properly begin their administrative efforts once more. They were not naive enough to believe it could be accomplished without the proper details of discussion among the powers arrayed with an interest in Mexican lands. It was no surprise to learn of the Hudson Bay initiating an international conference within the capital; and to a degree it was relieving to most of the delegated officials within the party who were more concerned with returning to their districts to restore the balance of powers needed. It was as such that former Presidential candidate Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador would head the Mexican delegation sent to the conference across the city. Given he had nearly won two previous elections in the Nations better years he was considered a widely experienced and likable man within the country who would bring legitimacy to the fledgling Mexican regime taking shape. Alongside him would be Anthony di Maria Bourbon, the great grandson of the former Monarch of New Spain Enrique Bourbon... widely known for disinheriting himself from his families great wealth in order to pursue a life in service to the government free of the long held bonds of his family name. He worked hard and rose to the position of District Attorney in the capital and was widely credited with the reduction of crime within the city and more importantly, culling the drug trade that used to plague the region. His contributions to the delegation were to provide a technical knowledge of the region as well as discussing means to coordinate relief throughout the nation alongside other domestic concerns. Lastly, Patricio Inocencio Ramires would bring to bear the diplomatic prowess to bear as a nationally renowned scholar and diplomat within Mexico. Although he never officially served the former regime he often times acted as an adviser to previous administrations on various national security and foreign policy matters. However, with the nation in turmoil he found himself forced to abandon his position at University and answer his countries pleas for governing. He would provide knowledge to the team to asses and address whatever concerns the arriving delegations would bring to bear. As the members of foreign governments and emerging ones began arriving into the conference room the native Mexican delegation would take their seats in the conference room and begin pouring over documents to get an idea what each of the groups were aiming to achieve at the conference. They would greet each delegation with a smile as the entered "Hola y bienvenidos a México mis amigos."
4. Capitol Building Mexico City, Mexico Citzens of Mexico, we will not stand idle while the land we've toiled to create falls apart due to a lack of a functioning government. The accomplishments of our forefathers were vast and without comparison in these lands. We built a thriving nation full of technological and social wonders that were viewed with as the envy of the world. But the days of our forefathers glorious have long since past... we've all bear witness to the gradual degredation of our nation over the last few months. We were not shocked to hear of the regimes collapse, how could we be? It is thus, that we began planning for such an event in the lower house... we drafted our plans for such an event with remorse. With the aide of Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, and many others we have drafted the constitution of a new government to lead the nation into the future once again. To create a perfect Republic for the peoples of this land, and to restore the glorious history of our past into the present, and future. It is as such, that we the former members of this defunct government and prominent citizens of Mexico humbly declare this nation as not defunct; but rather reborn as the land of the República de México. We hereby assert the claims of our former government on the lands of Mexico, Cuba and extend our rights to reclaim the protectorates of our former state in Central America. We have heard word of the rise of successor states in our former Northern American holdings and give our blessings to the native peoples of those lands to forge a government of their own peoples. Over the next few months we will begin working on the restoration of our nation and opening up diplomatic channels with the nations of the world once more. Dios bendiga a México! 5. Claiming Mexico in it's entirety as well as asserting the rest of the Central American as a protectorate for the continuation of Mexican politics as the Republic of Mexico.. DoE is being written and will be up by midnight. Edit: Adding Cuba to the list of initial claims as well.
6. OOC: Vidarr, I've taken the liberty of introducing your diplomat to the throne via hitchhiking alongside a local traders caravan. Feel free to continue the encounter. It was a chill spring morning and the farms of Ancara were buzzing as laborers began their morning toils. The locusts would often times accumulate at nights and begin their daily devouring of the local agriculture... it was not an uncommon sight. Yet this morning an unfamiliar sight dotted the landscape; a caravan of traders from the east had arrived to peddle their wares. Yet the most valuable item was not gold, or gems, or silks, but instead, a diplomat from the Southern Distopian Kingdom. He would be greeted by the Steward of Ancara Muhammad Suleiman, the Uncle of Sultan Behzid and his caretaker for many years. "Salaam and welcome to the land of milk and honey. I am Muhammad Suleiman, Steward of Ancara and Uncle to the Sultan himself."
7. While I do agree that the numbers initially proposed are a bit high... I also think that RP'ing with complete realism would be a bit off-putting if we are to treat this RP as something more then just a regional affair. As a historical military would severely limit the amount of colonizing one could accomplish without the fears of overextending ones forces. That said, I do think we should have some sort of statistical basis for the purposes of this RP... I'm just unsure what direction would be best; realism, or fun.
8. Thank you for your contributions UCON... you guys were stuck in some of the thickest fighting and didn't blink or play it soft; that's an admirable trait and one not too common these days. Best of luck rebuilding!
9. National Standard of The Ottoman Empire In the 14th century a young emirate from Ghaza rose to unite the Turkish peoples from the plains of Anatolia into one of the worlds most preeminent Empires in the world. His name was Osman I, the fabled founder of the Great Turkish state. Yet, this new found empire had not yet established it's complete dominance in the world just yet... instead, it stood beneath the shadow of the Byzantine Romans and their vast walled city of Constantinople. For hundreds of years, attacks would be mounted against their arch rivals; all of which would falter or fail against the seemingly impenetrable walls of this vast capital city... until the wise military rule of Mehmed II's advent of gunpowder and cannons were adopted into the Imperial Jannisary forces. The fall of Constantinople was fast and brutal and the conquest of the Byzantines all but complete. The vast amount of treasures found in the city were unlike anything ever seen in the Turkish lands, a vast array of knowledge, art, linguistics, books, and other technological innovations were housed in the city and with it's conquest the transformation of the Turkish state seemed to take place over night. From this position the city was renamed into Istanbul, and from it the great seat of Ottoman governance was seated upon it to reign for eternity... Or so was the hope of the Ottomans when they took the City... and for a time, that hope was a reality. The Ottoman Empire had threatened to bust into the very walls of Europe itself; standing at the doorstep of greater riches and plunder. However, that is neither here nor there anymore... the books of history are simply pages of a long forgotten past, the triumphs of the Ottoman Empire now long forgotten. No longer did the Ottoman Empire threaten to plunge a knife into the heart of Europe, no longer did the Empire hold Greece, the Balkans, and the Mediterranean in it's hands. After decades of decadent Sultans mismanaging the Empire on pointless luxuries, wars, and cronyism, the once former Great Power had receded from nearly all of their expanded holdings...and worse yet, had lost the fabled capital city to Western powers. The Empire was reeling as Behzid Osman I rose onto the throne... a young Sultan at the ripe age of 20 years old. Yet, unlike his cousins and uncles he was a man who found the comforts of rule in the palace as disdainful. His rise to power was among one of the few things the late Sultan Murad III had accomplished in his tenuous role of 16 years... the old Sultan had been plagued with a number of misfortunes and among them was the painful reality of sterility. As a boy the Sultan had a tragic accident in a grand camel race that left him crippled and for many years; unable to reproduce. For years the old Sultan drove himself mad trying to produce an heir to the throne... his personal harem numbering in the hundreds. Yet, it was not until some divine miracle that Allah himself gifted the mad sultan with a son. Murad II threw a lavish celebration across the Empire to celebrate the birthing of Behzid; even as the thousands of commoners starved in the streets... the feast was lavish and the splendor of it unrivaled in Turkey. Yet Murad in his joy, drunk himself so much that he later slipped off a balcony, breaking his neck and ending his reign. Thus began a long rule by the Regency of Osmali, Murads most trusted adviser... a eunuch of unremarkable talent of stature. Indeed, he was a dwarf of a man and badly maimed... yet for whatever reason he managed to find himself in the good graces of Murad. Osmali however while a capable adviser to the old Sultan; proved to be an incapable steward of the Empire...it was under Osmali's regency that the fabled capital itself was lost. Behzid had been born in Istanbul; yet he had no memory of the city... as his mother has him stewed away in Ancara to undergo education in secret. It was here, behind the walls of Ancara that Behzid was groomed into becoming a great Sultan... unlike his father and uncles before him. It was here, that Behzid took to power, and it was in Ancara were his government would begin it's reign. As the coronation of Behzid Osman I was undertaken from the Regency of Osmali; riders were sent to every province indicating the peaceful transition of power from the decrepit old regent. Furthermore, a message was sent to the world at large. "People of the world, I am Behzid Osman I, Sultan of the Ottoman Empire, Khan of Khans, Sultan of Sultans, Commander of the Faithful and Successor of the Prophet of the Lord of the Universe, and rightful Custodian of the Holy Sanctiaries (the Holy Cities of Mecca, Medina and Jerusalem), and Emperor of Rome. I stand before you to relay a simple message... We, the Turkish peoples are the heirs of Osman the Great, and it is through the divine grace of Allah that I stand before you today to deliver a simple message...that we, the heirs of Osman, shall rise to greatness once more."
10. On second though, please give me the entirety of Modern Turkey, minus Constantinople of course... labeled as the "Ottoman Empire". Any color will do I suppose.

Howdy 4

Only 4 years old... my my, goldie, you make me feel like the crypt keeper. Congrats!
12. I see... hmm, well in that case I've revoked my claim.
13. [Edit] Redacted due to mislabeled map.
14. I've spent years of my time here being allied to both DT & GLOF... When I blow them kisses, it's out of a well versed recognition of their abilities. But I suppose I'm not the only one grasping tonight?
15. You'd be surprised at how effortless it is to simply point out the facts. In this case, the fact remains that the competent alliances arrayed against us (DT & GLOF) have been shoved to the side by this move... now you can dispute it all you'd like; but the beauty behind facts are that they remain no less valid in the face of criticism.
16. While there's been 19 pages of various arguments, I missed partaking in all of them. So if you'll allow me a moment to cut through the bull and summarize this announcement for what it truly is; which is a Declaration of Distrust in the coalition of alliances arrayed against us. Ole' daddy needs a seat at negotiations in order to insure that future peace negotiations go according to current coalition plans as they don't trust the current composition of leadership in handling negotiations with us. That means, they cannot accept anything short of our unconditional surrender; as anything less would be a fatal blow to their coalitions fleeting morale standing. I mean sure they've claimed that they've entered to provide some relief in the lower and middle tiers; but anyone worth his salt knows that's only the actionable reason for involvement to justify this movement to the naive members of this world and ultimately, that relief they provide is not really important in the grand scheme of things. Now do we in TOP fault NPO for believing this way? To a degree we understand that TORN cannot be relied upon to act in an intelligent manner when conducting negotiations...but I do question why NPO lacks faith in DT or GLOF to handle their own affairs...but I digress. Just don't expect us to sit quietly at the apparent masking job being undertaken in this thread though, so we'll call it out... if only because it's a welcomed distraction from the task of fighting, plus it's been fun to watch NPO backtrack at the realization that it's slapped members of it's own greater coalition in the face. Perhaps out of arrogance or naivety they didn't see it blowing up in this manner, but given the track record of those Pacificans I'll air it to be the former rather then latter. So yeah, all of these posts espousing the apparent confidence in the 12 alliances arrayed against us in the last 19 pages of this topic are as meaningless as Ted claiming to be dominating the war with TORN; as the actions here speak plainly to anyone with half a brain in their skull. The writing is on the walls folks, I can see it, you can see, everyone can see it, so cut the bullshit already and recognize it for what it is... a Declaration of Distrust.
17. Watching the other side sitting uncomfortably is delightful... welcome to the party dudes.
18.
You say it's respect I say it's fear, we have no ways to prove who is right since it's a matter of perception, let the people believe in whoever they want.
Read my signature... it's been in place for months and serves it's purpose in this very moment.
19.
All I said was that MK/TOP had a problem with AI hitting their dear friends in Umbrella and will make Ai pay for the mistake, but NPO and IRON are free to punch Umbrella how much they want to since because your fear (strategy) you'll let your dear friends in Umbrella get beaten by them. I'm glad you agree with me too, well besides the scared part, but as I said, no problem, you don't have too.
NPO & IRON won't be beating on anyone... NPO have a single nation capable of touching Umbrella and IRON has not been in a real upper tier conflict in years. If Umbrella is struggling with them then we have bigger problems then you or anyone else would know... but thankfully, they aren't.
20.
I never said that use strategy to win the war is a terrible or a wrong thing to do, you is who are implying that. I just pointed out that TOP and MK were avoiding NPO/IRON on purpose because you were scared of NG - a pretty obvious observation I confess. After that my post was met with plenty of angry replies just to after a few argumentation we discover that what I said was indeed the case and you and rush agreed with me. Of course you'll not confess about the scared part, but you don't need to.
It has nothing to do with being fearful of anyone. Now, the suggestion you're making is a silly one and you know it. Your side of the web aims to bring NG over to it; if we attacked IRON or NPO then that would force their hand. So we did not... that's the end of it. There is no reason for us to gift wrap this victory to your ilk; you'll have to earn it the hard way. In short, you want us to hand you the keys to the city...and we're not going to do that. Call it cowardly all you wish... it won't change our strategies in the slightest.
