Actually, it has been my experience that what is commonly believed to be "diplomacy" in this realm is not much more than politics. Diplomacy is the rousing of the nations. Diplomacy is burning down your neighbors house while having them over for dinner. Diplomacy is saying the nastiest things in the most polite way but still saying them. Politics is playing nice with everyone. Politics stagnates.

What is this "diplomacy" you speak of?

Things were so much simpler when you created an alliance/coalition one war at a time.

I got warned for that earlier today, even though this is an IC forum and I was simply commenting on my personal beliefs on the position of women in the state of Sha Ka Ri as Imhotep, leader of the nation. So, since the rules of the RP forum do not apply when it comes to perceived sexism (although I could post the national flag of Sha Ka Ri as a Nazi swastika according the to rules ) I will refrain from commenting on that particular topic.

I will praise good gameplay from any corner when it is good. Gameplay and the art of IC politics seems to have left this world. Stupidity and ineptitude, especially among those proclaiming themselves "leaders" is unforgivable. Also, since I have taken the time to read up on the ongoing topic, in my time many topics were moved to the Lock Box on the NPO forum. This may be to the cruel and heavy fisted nature of my personality, one of the reasons I was couped was that I was not personable enough with the IOs. I am not up to date on current policy but I recall more than one occasion during my time as Emperor and Commandante (when I was commanding the Order during the second and third Great Wars) when I chastised the alliance leadership on IRC for allowing dissenting topics to remain in the Body Republic unchecked and unmoved.

I have never stated that I would not utilize certain avenues to reach a desired end en masse. The forced move against an opposing alliance by the collective body over a perceived indecency is different than the individual crying over someone picking on them in IRC, in my opinion.

Considering the quality of posts that I observe here of late, you are correct.

First, being able to distinguish what is rhetorical and what is literal is your friend. I know "why" people come on here and say things about people picking on them on IRC etc etc. The bleeding hearts love a victim and if you give them one they may take up preference for your "side". It was more of an admonishing than a legitimate inquiry. I daresay I know how to move the masses and manipulate the psychology of the populace better than most here when you get right down to it.

Right but at what cost? Why would anyone willingly wish to make themselves look so weak and frail?

Do you have a point with this pathetic attempt at a jab? Do you mean the "basic psychology" that dictates people respond to stimuli based on emotional state and thus more often than not make swift decisions that can lead to making them look like a complete jackass, as you have just done? Or did you mean something else? Educate me.

I don't keep up with much here. I am a bit of a showboater and blowhard and I just pipe in on occasion to either stir the pot or piss people off. But, I don't quite understand all the concern over supposed threats over the computer. This may be because I am old but I don't think so. If someone tells me on IRC that they hope I die in RL I will say "good, one day I will" and move on. If someone says they will kill me I say "now I have to launch my IGNORE bomb at you". If someone says you live at X address and I am going to come over and $%&@ your wife then I will probably contact the appropriate authorities. At no point would coming onto the forum to !@#$%* and moan and whine about it be an option. So why do so many of you do it?

So long as they stay in the kitchen women can do what they want as far as I am concerned.
