1. finally a message from noted mk founder nero "Hi this is Nero, I made polls for MK for over a year and coined the term "pollmaster". I barely played the actual game of CN. I think I won." 'I didn't even buy improvements'
 2. tbh my original statement was the best statement and my statement is this:

rip mk
 3. bros asked me to write a statement given my status as the one other founder of the Mushroom Kingdom still active today, but I'm really not sure what to say. For a start, I suppose I'm not sad about this disbandment, I'm proud. Ultimately, I believe that MK has been the best alliance in the game for a long, long time and it pleases me to see that, rather than let that tradition slip, we all know that the time is right to move on. Certainly, I'm a little wistful - discussion of our imminent disbandment has brought back old friends and memories - but just because the alliance may be gone, doesn't mean the relationships fade too. - Kamichi. Current Lord High Something. Notoriously forgettable Prince and founder.
 4. Names are irrelevant. It's the people that matter. Doom House culture is engrained in them, just look at their name.
 5. like all good bad cn ideas, it was better when i did it in my version, the draft was kept secret, so the 'best' alliance was decided via poll keep it simple otherwise you'll kill it before it even starts
 6.
This could not be more mistaken. The acts of Umbrella are clearly acts of war and Ai's allies are clearly defending them. Your tight spot is a personal problem that you can lay at the feet of Umbrella for placing you in or your own FA for not being more clear in terms of direction. Unless you are implying that Brehon should fail to honor his obligations to his treaty partner. Something that you KNEW from past conflicts he would not do. NPO is defending Ai.
now please tell me has this argument ever actually worked like, ever
 7. i can confirm archon has always been nothing without those behind him it was trace and i who kept mk afloat in those early days before roq took over i can prove it with logs
 8.
Unrestricted RW FTP level access means that one reads/writes the files, pretty much doing and accessing anything and everything. This doesn't mean that bros did or didn't spy, just that the "he couldn't have done it with FTP access" defence is flat out stupid.
it depends on the setup, I would assume. One could have an FTP account without having unrestricted FTP access. for example, using the shared hosting that the MK (and LUEnited Nations) boards used to be hosted on, the databases couldn't be accessed from an FTP account at all.

 10. Today? Today is judgement day. The third place playoff and the grand final are taking place tonight at the same time as usual (2:30AM UK time, 9:30PM Eastern) but I'm not going to be there. Instead, I'll be leaving you in the capable hands of AirMe. I've taught him all there is to know about copying and pasting links to youtube so everything should be just fine.

 15. Important news everybody! The live viewings of the group stage matches will be held at 2:30AM UK time (9:30PM Eastern time). You will be able to join us for the live viewing on IRC in #nso on irc.coldfront.net. Links will be given out in chat as soon as the videos are made public. I doubt he even knows it, too A travesty!
don't worry lads! What might actually be of slight consolation to you is that after the draft finished, I came up with a plan to make the whole tournament pointless. I introduce to you: the Significant Other XI II. 16. Rosters I thoroughly underestimated the time and effort that would be required to transcribe the rosters in full detail. So, staying true to the spirit of the Digiterran Football Association, I haven't transcribed them at all. Instead, you have a much better looking image of the table we filled as the draft went on. You can see the draft as it unfolded, as well as the pool of players the managers were picking from here. (DFA forums account required)

 17. Tournament Format Each all-star team will play each other once in a round-robin format. A win get a team three (3) points, a draw gets a team one (1) point and a team will recieve no (0) points for a loss. The two teams with the most points after the round-robin is complete will go on to the grand final to determine who the true all-stars are. The two teams which finish third and fourth will also compete to see which manager really should be invited back. Matchday One (9th January) team one vs Disparate Elements United Atletico Moralista vs Dog River River Dogs Matchday Two (11th January) team one vs Atletico Moralista Disparate Elements United vs Dog River River Dogs Matchday Three (13th January) team one vs Dog River River Dogs Atletico Moralista vs Disparate Elements United Finals (15th January) Third place playoff: ??? vs ??? Grand final: ??? vs ??? How to Watch The group stage matches will take place at 9:30PM Eastern time / 2:30AM UK time. All videos will be uploaded to my Youtube account. However, you have a choice of three easy options on how to find direct links to your team's matches without relatively complicated searching. 1. Master List The spreadsheet which is used to track stats will have a master list of fixtures, ordered by date, including a link to each match. These lists will typically be updated within an hour after the videos are released and are the easiest way for you to find match links without spoiling the result. There will also be no rules about spoilers inside this topic, so make sure you check the master list before reading the rest of this topic if you want to stay spoiler free. 2. Live Viewing As soon as matches are released there will be a live viewing in the IRC channel of choice, where everyone present starts watching each match at the exact same time to simulate a live match. We've found that it's a lot more enjoyable this way, with taunts, curses and tears of joy everpresent. Spoiling the live stream by skipping ahead will be rewarded with a ban from the channel. Unfortunately, unlike with past tournaments hosted on the DFA forums, I don't own the CN forums and can't ban you from them, so I will have to settle for being very cross with you. 3. Youtube Subscription You can subscribe directly to my Youtube account by clicking here. This will link you to matches as soon as they're uploaded. Bear in mind, matches could be spoiled by the preview image which is automatically generated by Youtube, so I do not necessarily recommend subscribing. Having more subscribers on my account will boost my ego though! Spreadsheet The spreadsheet is a single document, hosted on Google Documents, which we use to keep track of each team's progress among other things. It contains all the information you need to follow along and support your team:

Master List is a list of all matches in chronological order, sorted by stage, complete with links to the video. There will be no scores recorded on this sheet, making it spoiler free, meaning it should be your first port of call when finding a link to watch your team's match.
Standings is an sheet containing the round robin table as well as the results from all games.
Leaders is a leaderboard for individual goals and assists.
The spreadsheet can be found here.

Previous tournaments under the DFA banner involved alliances represented as football teams, with alliance members as their players, participating in FIFA-esque World Cups and Invitationals. This time, we have dispensed with alliances and simply given the four most successful managers in DFA history free reign to pick whoever they want in a multi-cultural, international jamboree. These four All-Star teams represent the very best the world of virtual football has to offer. What makes this different from the plethora of other CN-ran tournaments is that you, the viewer, actually get to watch the action. All matches are recorded and uploaded in their entirety for your viewing pleasure, complete with quality commentary from some of the best but mostly the worst wordsmiths to ever grace the beautiful game. I will be using Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 to simulate the matches. Both teams in any given game will be controlled by the Top Player AI and at no point will I, or anyone else, have any direct influence on the game itself. If you have followed previous DFA tournaments then you will notice very few changes. If you're an interested newcomer then be aware that you've been coerced into watching a computerised football match with which you have no involvement, while being shouted at by a British man with a strange accent. I hear it's a lovely way to spend an evening. If you have any questions about this all-star series or about Virtual Football in general then feel free to query me. My nick on IRC is either be kamichi or xKAMICHIx. Frequently Asked Questions Please do ask any and all relevant questions so I can feel important and loved! Q. Why don't you stream the games? A. My connection is now good enough to stream games and we might look into doing that in the future, but not for now! Q. Why don't you use a better method of synchronisation (ie synchtube)? A. Because we would all miss the dramatic IRC countdown to press play. Q. Are these actually the four most successful managers in DFA history? A. no Q. When is the next real tournament? A. I have been convinced to hold one last World Cup. WC2012 will be held this June, to coincide with Euro 2012. I'm hoping to get 32 teams together for one last hurrah, so if you're the type of manager who needs six months to prepare, consider this your notice!
 19. you can't be considered a proper alliance unless your leadership have held a meeting irl
 20. I'm sorry, but tonight's matches (Group A, matchday two) will be postponed until tomorrow. That means that the running order on the 23rd, from 8PM Eastern onwards will be: O'Samurai vs C&G Albion Hearts vs Paradoxia AFC Tetris vs Francograd Partytowne vs MK Dons Reasoning for this is that I was travelling back from London by coach overnight on Monday night/Tuesday morning. Got home far later than expected then immediately fell asleep. Woke up at 10PM, which, if you were (or are!) a responsible child, you will know that that's far too late for any major shouting or noise. All four matches will be combined into a super midweek matchday tomorrow on the 23rd. Again, I apologise for the delay, but clearly National Express are to blame.
