1. How things can change over the course of just 2 years..............good luck FARK!
2. In honor of our MDoAP “Lets FOKing GO” treaty: http://forums.cybernations.net/index.php?showtopic=68700 We activate the defensive clause of that treaty:
Article VI - Mutual Defense Guru Order and FOK hereby agree that any direct attack on either signatory will be seen as an attack on both. In those times of need, the signatories will use all means to defend the other signatory from aggression.
Hereby we declare a state of war against the alliance by the name of Ascended Republic Of Elite States. There are no hard feelings and frankly speaking we know very little about ARES, what we do know is that their nations are attacking our ally and that is all that matters here. 3. Great treaty with a great alliance, hope to see this relationship flourish
4. Note: The below has been credited to JmanofAus of Jmalaxia.
On this day, two years ago, the young nation of Guruland under the direction of its leader, Mentor, created the Guru Order Alliance Affiliation. It was the first nation of many to do so, beginning a two-year-long tradition of growth, unity and friendship. We've come a long way since then, overcoming numerous struggles and meeting great people in great alliances along the way. We've prepared a short history of the Guru Order, to help us reflect on just how far we've come: After Mentor founded the AA, he began to recruit as many new members as he could, by August 30 the Guru Order had 22 members and was a listed alliance. It became quite clear that the Order required some external source of revenue to help grow its member-states, and as such it went on the search for an alliance to sell technology to. We were fortunate enough to run into FOK:
October 2008 Guru Order came to us in search of a crazy amount of techdeals. We were only interested in hot naked girls at that time and Guru Order was willing to trade them. And aren't hot naked girls always the beginning of a beautiful friendship? We're totally happy with the [s]naked girls[/s] friendship and we've seen GO grow from a peaceful newborn alliance to the fullgrown alliance it is today. Mentor's done a great job, along with the eternal assistance of his loyal minions of course. FOK is up for another 2 years of beautiful friendship (just don't forget the naked girls).
We started negotiating with the Mostly Harmless Alliance for a protectorate around October, and ended up getting a protectorate with the whole of the Trident. And so, on October 28 the alliances of Farkistan, the Mostly Harmless Alliance and the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation became our protectors and great allies. Around this point the Order consisted of 112 member-states and an alliance strength of 550,000. Without the terrific support from out Fark, MHA and NATO it isn't likely that we would have made it as far as we have. We continued to sell technology to FOK and Farkistan as well, and we entered into a Treaty of Amity with FOK in the new year of 2009. Come February we consisted of 174 member-states and an alliance strength of 625,000. We increased this to a membership of 303 and surpassed 1,000,000 alliance strength in April as a result of a large recruiting push and our tech dealing. Then, of course, the Karma War broke out towards the end of April. The Guru Order declared its neutrality due to conflicting protectorate agreements. With our external tech buyers at war, and the majority of our member-states being new nations, the Order suffered many losses with its membership dropping to 162 nations. During July the Guru Order upgraded its protectorate to a MDoAP with each of its protectors, and was once again selling a large amount of technology externally. The Order sat at 174 member-states and hovered above 1,000,000 alliance strength. With recruiting again on the rise, a large influx of nations brought with it an influx of new minds with new ideas, who all helped to increase the activity of the Order greatly. By the end of September the Order entered into a MDoAP with our allies in FOK and reached 226 member-states and an alliance strength of 1,300,000. The Order saw a shift in the type of nations it consisted of, with many nations breaking the 3,000 infrastructure barrier during the months of October and November. It achieved a membership of 214 nations and an alliance strength of 2,000,000 before the end of 2009. With the Second Unjust War not far away, and the Order finding itself once again with an ally which would be fighting on the other side of the conflict to that of the Order's other allies, it reluctantly cancelled its MDoAP with NATO on December 28. On January 27 of the new decade, the Guru Order declared war on an alliance for its very first time. The Order declared on the New Sith Order in honour of its treaty with FOK. It also declared war on The United Front and Menotah. The Second Unjust War was considered a victory for the Guru Order, it gave the Order a chance to test its potential on the battlefield and fight for its allies. After the conclusion of the war, the Order returned to operations as normal. The majority of the Order's member-states recovered, partly thanks to a substantial amount of war aid which was generously sent by the Mostly Harmless Alliance during the war, helping many nations to keep up the fight for longer. From March onwards, the Order began to focus on strengthening it's upper-tier nations through militarisation. Its nuke count almost doubled to over 200 in the space of 30 days with plenty of room to rise. In early April the Order had a solid membership of 260 nations and an alliance strength of 2,175,000. It entered into a ODP with Ragnarok, which was upgraded to a MDoAP 26 days later to reflect the great relationship the Order and Ragnarok had formed. The Order continued to grow, reaching 2,500,000 alliance strength and 280 member-states by mid-May. This growth gained the Order its very first appearance on the Amazing Sanction Race. On July 10 the Order entered into a ODP with the Commonwealth of Sovereign Nations, who at the time were one of our main technology buyers and close friends. This treaty was upgraded to a MDoAP 19 days later on the 29th. Now here we are on the 19th of August, 2 years after the founding of the Order which has a desirable 240 member-states and is sure to surpass 3,000,000 alliance strength for the first time by the end of the month. It is also well on its way to accomplishing its 500 nuke goal, with under 75 nukes remaining to be purchased. The Guru Order has come a long way, and although the history above may not show it, the spirit of the Order has developed to be very strong. The members are united as one and surrounded by fantastic allies in the Commonwealth of Sovereign Nations, Farkistan, FOK, the Mostly Harmless Alliance and Ragnarok. There are a number of people without whom the Order wouldn't be where it is today, and it is only fair that they be recognised in this announcement here today. So, the following people are thanked by the entire Guru Order for their contributions towards the alliance: Adroidia Agealia blahsay Bonkers captainsls C Community Repub CkGordon ComradeR Coverzin Crazy Rightist crosscountry2 Cubanese darthzen123 Derailer Die Wüste Districtor djdamode donpalze DPrentice eljesus Emperor Coheed Empire Of Gaia Federation of States Feministing Flapjackers FreedomMrtn Gardner gaulamos gauntelakor Golden Throne Haywoodtown Helmut Cole HF Tech High Elves hllaan Immortal Land Jmalaxia katskip Keubzeikevr Kingdom of Cuba kleven316 LongviewCt Lord Bendom Lugue Lzbth m88sword matt13 Mentor Mitchieland mneten Naughtyn8 NearX Pale Mail Pandorum Raein REALPAL Rio Rancho Rockford Rockos Republic Rocks Royal Ron Mock Rymar10 saladville Scifos Sir Garion smokey78 Smontag snoitan streak324 Tarrenh Teko1 Terga The Fortress The Holy Dictator The Ville tom1995 Tom Vahara tomspray Trevaina Troika Vannah Volckertia Waldie Land XxXVitalityXxX ZaphodBiblboks Thank you all for providing a wonderful home here on Planet Bob for the Guru Order to stay. 5. Good luck NSO, you are going to need it allot. /o ROK
6. good luck, GGA has been on the downturn for some time now
7. this is the right decision, to be honest i thought Gremlins disbanded, cannot find them on the alliance list
8. this is not really a change, simply we are not renewing the old one
9. i know Duncan King was a very capable leader, good luck with this one.
10. You guys cannot imagine how long it took to decide on this one
11. I like the layout of those newspapers, got to use those for our forum news.
12. Finally GO gets into this, been a long time coming
13. Guru Order is recruiting currently, we have increased our numbers by +4 in the last 2 days
14. Good idea, we instated a filter system a few months out, one of the best things we did so far.
15. Note: This guys also seems to have robbed several alliances of tech money, good luck with your ZI
16. This is a very logical decision o/ MHA!
17.
A worthless treaty. I don't understand the point of optional agreements. GO is mostly inactive and small.
This is essentially not an ODP, it is a temporary period to see if a higher ranking treaty is worthwhile, hence the 30 day expiry clause.
GO is mostly inactive and small.
Inactive? 128,000 internal posts in our forums prove otherwise (not bad for a relatively young alliance) about being small check the stats, not quite as small as we used to be
18. good to see that most alliances found a reasonable solution, peace to all
