What’s their excuse to those fighting? Do not get me wrong, I can see Non Grata loving this arrangement. I imagine the snickering behind the rest of your backs is a lot of fun. Convincing your former enemies to do all the fighting against your other enemy. Sweet. Tell them you’re coming in later. “Support” them on the OWF enough and maybe their membership will assume you are fighting too. Blah blah blah blah. Words are cheap

Not even close. CLAWS would have agreed to a 1 on 1 CLAWS vs FTW fight had we been asked. A little nipsy-tussle for old times sake. 💯- yup. All other allies stay out, etc. FTW never asked for that type of slow dance so...

I’ve had my share of being raided. I can not speak for others but in my case, raids were actually part of what kept me playing. I got more active, found friends/allies by seeking them out in order to stop raids, learned how to war to defend myself, invited friends to join me and kept interested because survival on my own terms presented a challenge worth it. Spare me the fake tears for anyone leaving over raids. True - it’s not like I have spoken to every nation leaving, but neither have you. Of all the reasons people given me regarding why they decide to leave, “because of the raids” has not come up. It’s generally about a lack of time.

As those of you who bother to follow the baiting on OWF know, Freehold of the Wolves (FTW) and CLAWS have been “teasing” each other for some time, in particular around merging – i.e. that CLAWS would end up having to merge into FTW. Well, congratulations FTW, you have our attention. By declaring on our doom direct friends, you clearly are asking for a dance. CLAWS accepts. CLAWS hereby declares war on Freehold of the Wolves in defense of Doombird Doomcave, Doom Wolves and Doom Squad. There have, of course, been others who have teased about a merger. Thus far, North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) has not been one. However, we respect NATO and since they have also asked to dance by declaring on our allies, it would be rude to not accept. NATO could take it wrong if we gave all our affections to FTW. CLAWS hereby declares war on NATO in defense of Doombird Doomcave, Doom Wolves and Doom Squad. Rumors of war have been in the back channels for months. I admit that when I first heard the latest ones I was highly skeptical. We’ve been disappointed before after all. That being the case, I will give credit where credit is due for starting what (rumors say) has been desired by your coalition for well over a year. I am glad you finally decided to just go for it. And when our doom direct friends are already engaged in another dance, unrelated to your reasoning for war, I assume. Well played, but lacking in class. CCC also has the long term reputation of not being an aggressive alliance. This is not a criticism. I am just pointing out that no one bothers with a NAP with CCC because no one expects that CCC would be aggressive. No one is concerned about GPA attacking out of the blue either for the same reason. On the other hand, doomsphere alliances and Polar have a history of tension and both alliances have been involved with aggressive wars. Now you know why.

Have you seen the treaty web lately? A lot of alliance leaders do not see it your way. if you do not understand how treaties work or have an issue with them, ask CCC to drop all theirs. CCC would do just fine without them, right? And the alliance I was talking about is Argent, who had just signed their own treaty with Polar. I did set you up though since I assumed you and probably others would assume I meant NPO 😛

It's a non-aggression pact. We both gain the assurance that neither will attack the other "out of the blue." We also have a mutual ally who (understandably) is happy about it for the same reason. No alliance leader wants to be in the position where one ally may attack another ally if it can be helped. ----------------------------------- I am glad Polar and CLAWS can set aside difference enough to sign a NAP. I've always had respect for Polar personally, regardless of the political position of my alliance. A NAP is a good start. Hail Polar! Hail CLAWS!

I agree. After all, all is fair in love and war, right? Sometimes there is pressure to take a “sports” approach to Planet Bob. It has not caught on at the government to government level in this realm. Not yet. Internally, from my experience, governments advise their membership to be “good sports” during even the nastiest wars on a nation to nation basis. Meanwhile they often do not follow their own advice on an alliance to alliance diplomatic level. The unwritten rules and traditions of Planet Bob have always been interesting to me. (OOC also how the change elsewhere or on other planets - or not)

UCR's connection to GATO and CLAWS respect for them is why we're not involved beyond just giving aid. GATO understands reality fine. It's UCR that seems to believe (with all evidence to the contrary) that Planet Bob cares.
