1. Yes Tilton, many of us had made up our minds before, and many such minds were dedicated to protecting you. I will echo Blue Lightning's thoughts here. Even if by the Grace of Johan you are innocent, there is a time to move on. You've abused many a friendship and much or all of this so called 'political' good will you claim to have. Farewell.
2. Thanks for the lovely support guys Either way, I'm going to keep my mouth stuffed until TOP ends up on the winning end of a war again. There's no use of us Paradoxians claiming we would have offered 'White Peace', or that we wouldn't demand reps. It's easily said when we're not in a position to demand such reps. Only way we can prove it is to take such a path one day. I honestly do believe we would have offered 'White Peace' in the last war if the situation were reversed, but that's irrelevant. I honestly don't blame CnG for taking reps from us, I can see why they did and it can be justified. We will have to prove ourselves one day, when we have the chance to stand by our words, and we will. I look forward to that day. And I do believe my optimism on this account will not fail me.
3. Nothing negative can be said about such a move. Such an attempt to infuse energy and character into your alliance can only be a good thing. I wish my old friends the best of luck.
4.
During my brief period as Praetor I thought I was very clear to everybody that GRE's involvement and everybody else's involvement were not inherently linked. Just because one alliance exits the conflict doesn't mean GRE does nor vice versa.
The following was posted in your DOW:
Ladies and Gentlemen of Bob, It is time for the Harmlin to enter this fray. IRON and their minions have brought untoward aggression against our friends and the Harmlins shall see our way in to protect them. We are prepared to stand and fight among our many friends as they stand and fight for theirs. With that said, Harmlins have their towels ready and hereby declare war on IRON.
You've all given TOP much to think about with regard to our CB for war and part and parcel of why we are paying reparations is related to our rationale and way in which we declared war. So, if you claim, as in your DoW, to have entered the conflict to defend your friends, then you should exit when your friends deem the conflict over. If, on the other hand, as you suggest now, that this conflict of yours between Gre and IRON/DAWN is not inherently linked to the conflict which we are trying to bring to a close, then you will have to accept that you declared war due to a grudge and not to defend your friends. Which one is it? Is it the latter or the former? Whatever you're doing is much worse than what we did. We argued from Day 1 that we, if victorious, would only demand White Peace. You're basically arguing your CB might be the latter (A grudge) and you're demanding unconditional surrender. I don't really consider many actions on our lovely planet to be irrational. Usually things make sense from one perspective or another. However, I really don't comprehend what you're trying to achieve as of recently.
5. I'm pretty sure we agreed there was something wrong with our CB and how it was expressed. If there wasn't, we wouldn't agree to pay reps even if we were being run into the ground. But the fact that we messed up but still chose CnG as our target showcases that mistakes on both sides were made. Miscommunication can only occur with both parties committing errors of judgment and perception. For CnG to act as if they were the golden boys in this whole episode is wrong. If TOP was massively culpable for igniting this conflict, CnG was at least moderately culpable. The question is not whether TOP is willing to pay reps but the number of reps we're willing to pay. We recognize a mistake when it is made but it is the severity of the mistake in question which determines the amount of reps payable. CnG has to recognize that lowering their reps expectations and concluding this conflict is in our mutual interests. The amounts of reps we're willing to pay through negotiation will never increase enough by day to offset the damage done to CnG through nuclear warfare. If this was a zero-sum affair, where CnG and TIDTT were the only parties on Planet Bob, then a continuation of this conflict would be in CnG interests. But considering the numerous other entities out there, including parties that could potentially become hostile to CnG in the future (We know how CN politics works, your friend one day can become the enemy the next and vice versa), it's in CnG's interests to offer or accept a deal plainly acceptable to us ASAP. And we all know, contrary to how issues are portrayed on the OWF, that CnG is not beloved by everyone, no matter what they may wish. No alliance or party can subscribe to such a position.
6. I wish MHA the best of luck in their future travels through the galaxy. There's not much to say here anymore. As per usual, it seems that communication breakdowns and misunderstandings caused mutual misconceptions of the goals and aspirations of both alliances. This treaty should either have been canceled earlier when TOP and Gre were failing to bridge their divide or we should have gathered by some sunny beach and frolicked and partied until we knew each other once again in the best of ways. The fact that neither happened, and that we were both willing to live with this half fulfilled and not necessarily happy relationship, proved to be a mistake by both alliances. While I may look on in dismay at MHA's actions this war, that does not discount the happy relationship we had for a long time. At this time I look back and see what may have been and what was, and I cheers to those better times and my belief that such times are possible in the distant future.
7.
Ajax im a bit surprised at this poor attempt at humor.
I'm just somewhat irritated at the fact that members still bring up the fact that Sky lured members away from Valhalla. The majority of members who left at the time were intelligent and free-thinking. They chose of their own will to leave for many reasons (I'm sure you recognized some of these problems at the time as well) I do concur that SGC's position in Valhalla didn't require much effort at the time. However, as many individuals here have said, times change and people change. Both the Emissary position in Valhalla has evolved and so has SkyGreenChick. We both know I wasn't the keenest in having SkyGreenChick as Emissary at the time in Valhalla (Why else did I run against her?). However, she has showed her ability here at TOP. Her time is spent on matters of state and not graphic design. As for the other issues regarding her last 2 months in Valhalla, I know not and so I will not comment. There has been a lot of bad blood between Valhalla and SkyGreenChick. It's time to leave those behind. She has changed and so has Valhalla, both for the better in my opinion.
8. Jenko will honestly make a great Grand Hospitaller. I have yet to meet another more hard working Government member and he deserves this promotion. Sky, especially in these trying times, will prove to be an excellent Grandmaster. And no Longbowe and Bob Sanders, you have it all wrong. They all came from Valhalla for me!
9. SunnyInc, It has been great knowing you and all throughout the past year or so in CN. It's been an honor. I always held out for the hope you would join us one day, but you do what you must. TSO has lost a great member in my book. I hope to catch you sometime and catch a beer IRL. o/ Sunny
10. For one, I recognize this DoW as what it is. While we at TOP should be surprised at this declaration by a former friend, times change and it is only honorable for an alliance to follow up on it's treaty obligations. While one can be disgruntled by the way TOP and FOK moved apart, there should be no malice towards this action by FOK. MK does need FOK to bring down some of our upper tiers. That is a statistical fact. And the fact is, FOK is allied to MK, not TOP. Treaty obligations are important still for most alliances.
Can someone from TOP address this? More specifically the aiding their wartime combatants part. Since apparently its been ignored by everyone but Saber who decided to ignore it and just make an entirely unrelated comment.
I'll attempt to tackle this somewhat as it hasn't been addressed. We've taken this war in many ways as a coalition war, and as such, have aimed to provide assistance to all those fighting on our side of the conflict to the best of our ability. This is only right, considering the way in which such alliances have come into this conflict to begin with. Along the way we have probably lost track of which exact alliances we have aided which could be considered aiding a combatant not directly linked to our theatre of the conflict. However, with regard to Invicta, I do believe they are fighting a common enemy, The Resistance, which has declared war on both of us, which justifies our aid to them. I haven't seen a FOK Government member contact us regarding this issue. If they had, we could probably have discussed this and come to an understanding on this issue, at the very least.
11. Congrats on the peace OMFG. It was great having you on our side! <3 OMFG. Best of luck in rebuilding
12. Happy Birthday my friends. It's been more than an honor to have such compatriots beside us through thick and then. o/
13.
You got about 20k NS on me right now and I won't be in range much longer...UNLESS you tell the guy I'm fighting not to nuke me. Thanks in advance But don't tell him, because I won't have a shot at the STA Nuclear Olympics if I don't get nuked. Maybe next war?
Mmmm, Well try and get within range (One way or another, haha). I still need to get back at you for nuking me numerous time when I had no nukes to respond with! Either way, look forward to seeing you all on the battlefield.
14. Loved fighting you the first time, look forward to you guys on the battlefield this time STA. It's always been classy warring you lot. Lakerzzz, I look forward to matching up with you again?
15. It's been a long time BJ, no wonder why you don't remember me Best of luck out there, hopefully we can catch up sometime. You know where to find me!
16. Our Trade Circle, which has 3BR has it's mainstay, is currently missing Wheat and Marble as a trade. With the exception of this recent loss, the trade circle has been stable for the last 5 months or so. If interested, please PM me in game. You will need to change to Orange Team if you decide to join our trade circle. We allow for some flexibility in our trade circle, where you can temp trade with others for resources and maximize your income while minimizing your bills.
17. Best of luck NPO. The future should prove very interesting.
18. BAPS is epic. I'm sure we'll be seeing you on this side of the milestone soon enough again
19. Well fought. It is through the hardships of battle that new friendships can me made. *Tips hat* Well deserved white peace. Valhalla is lucky to have allies like you.
20. This guy continues to elude anarchy, sometimes by the slimmest of margins (I had 94% twice?) Something special must be within him I look forward to munching on some nuclear waste meat soon
21. Valhalla fell from 150ish to 116 members in a period of two months. Perhaps you should look at something else rather than Sky as the issue. **** /me salutes the Ordinary Men. I'm sure it'll be an honor fighting you lot. Like Bodvar, I look forward to stomping on you but I have a feeling some pointy rockety things will be shot up my trousers
22. This apology is good to see. It's hard to always recognize your mistakes and apologize. It's harder even to dig up past mistakes and make amends. For this, my respect for you has grown.
23. It's unfortunate we had to declare on our purple friends. This does not, in any case, justify your belittling of Sky.
24. Our boot will never be held against your neck. Regardless, I look forward to talking with my old friend soon. Without discussion, there is never understanding. Invicta shines much brighter than many others in this conflict. Regardless of how you feel about our actions at TOP and TSO, know that you've done honorably, and everyone here agrees.
