1.
This is where you now pretend like IAA fought. Be my guest. Everyone knows what happened there. you had a MASSIVE NS advantage cuz of IAA's internal drama. If it makes you feel more accomplished to pretend like IAA was all-in, then do so. But much like people say that regardless of how NSO spins it, everyone knows they lost... regardless of how you spin it, everyone knows that IAA wasnt at war with you.
This is where you pretend that every single Legionnaire was pulling their weigh equally, giving 100% to the war effort, and consequently giving us a massive NS advantage since IAA didn't fight as hard as they could have (although, to say that they didn't fight at all is false; I should know, I fought some of them.) As, no doubt, many Sith will point out, not every Legionnaire fought back as hard as they could have, or (in some cases), at all. Some surrendered outright. There was some dead weight on our side, too. It makes sense to say that we outmatched the coalition arrayed against us only if you assume that every single Legionnaire was fighting at maximum efficiency, which, I'm sorry to say, we weren't. Ignoring all of the little side-arguments that persist, however, I'll just say, "Good Game!" to all parties directly involved: NSO, you didn't call in allies that you probably could have at the outset. It most likely cost you the war, but it's the one honorable thing I can personally credit you for, as an alliance. IAA, first off, R.I.P., secondly - you fought a bit more than a lot of people want to admit, and they seem to be denying your admittedly-limited role outright chiefly for political reasons at this point. BTA, I didn't personally meet any of you on the battlefield, so no comment. NsO, I didn't personally meet any of you on the battlefield, so no comment. Tetris, you've paid for your original sin many times over, such that I hope that the wrongness of the original crime is never lost amongst your ranks, in the shadow of the enormity of what happened to your alliance directly after. NpO, thanks for the aid packets and for keeping things somewhat even, when the other side started taking outside aid. Legion, congratulations, as an alliance. You've finally achieved one of the things that I'd hoped you would achieve since before I became a member. It was an honor that I was in the right place at the right time and able to play my part in it with you. Let's continue to make the future for our alliance brighter.
2. I suppose it was an honor trading some volleys with your members in what was apparently the IAA's final war. Good luck in the future, folks. Whatever the history, it's always sad to see an old and storied AA die off...
3.
Actually it was 236 against 224, with the coalition outnumbering Legion. Keep on spinning, it amuses the rest of us a lot.
These weren't even the numbers from the high-water mark, on the day when all of the participants got into the war. On that day, by my count, the numbers read like this: Tetris - 38 NSO - 128 NsO - 35 IAA - 51 BTA - 19 That makes 279 nations vs. Legion at that point, so the actual initial disparity between our side and theirs was even greater than has been suggested. Shame they couldn't capitalize on that numerical advantage...
4. Thanks for the shoutout, Turin! I'll see you again on the battlefield tomorrow... Also, I'd like to give a shoutout to SonicPluto of the nation SonicPluto for giving me a crucial refresher course in CN warfare at low-level NS directly before and during the opening days of this larger conflict. The experience you gave me as I ZI'd you mercilessly has helped me out immensely! XOXO ps NSO - I know he's applying to you, and you can accept him if you want...but I wouldn't. Just sayin'...
5. The Mods will be lucky if their AA isn't disbanded after the smoke clears... For serious, we're gonna install a viceroy. The reps they pay will be...apocalyptic! Welcome to the fray.
6. One of my IAA targets asked for me to post this for him.
To: bigdaddychacha From: TSAR BOY Date: 10/7/2011 2:59:10 PM Subject: RE: One Option Message: I don't have the account for the forum so... I formally surrender with my nation to the alliance of The Legion.
Nation is here: http://www.cybernations.net/nation_drill_display.asp?Nation_ID=411864
7.
You sound pretty mad. Calm down.
Now you're confusing "flippant" with "mad"... That's alright, tone doesn't always translate well via forum posts.
8.
If you're implying spying is subjective then it doesn't matter if Tetris did it or not.
Congratulations! You fail at reading comprehension, understanding context, correctly interpreting a metaphorical juxtaposition, and mid-late '90s history. Go back to middle school. Do not collect two hundred dollars as you pass Go.
9.
Prove that we spied.
"That depends on what your definition of the word, 'Is,' is..."
10. To put the IAA's update blitz in proper perspective, let's break it down a bit: 8 offensive wars were declared on 7 Legion nations. Out of those 7 Legion nations, 2 are currently in Anarchy...BUT: Each of those Legion nations had pre-existing wars with either Tetris or NsO nations, so it's possible that they were Anarchied before the IAA attacks (maybe someone in IAA can help clear this up for us. I'm sure they'd be proud to claim even 1 or 2 anarchies doled out in their update blitz at this point...) Another big BUT: In their small update blitz (I'm saying small, even when accounting for the fact that their alliance has a mere 51 members. I don't know, maybe 50 now, it sounds like they're kicking +Zeke+ out), 1 IAA nation was anarchied by the Legionnaire he chose to attack. Yet another big BUT: In a small counterblitz by 3 Legion nations who were paying attention at update, 2 out of 3 IAA nations targeted were anarchied immediately. tl;dr - 8 IAA declared on 7 Legionnaires. 3 Legionnaires declared on 3 IAA. IAA may be able to claim at least partial responsibility for anarchying 2 Legion nations who were already at war. Legion can definitely claim full responsibility for wrecking 3 IAA nations into anarchy since this attack began. Those are just the facts, people.
11.
Don't Worry you two I am elaborating with around 27 Nations willing to fight the Legion (with permission from there alliance) Although I'm not sure a petty war against the legion is right so i told them to listen to ****** and withdraw from our little 28 way chat. I'm interested to see how they are going to go without me. Will they fight? who knows. I on the other hand need to focus on my nation and that is why I am trying to surrender.
So you're suing for peace with Legion and still trying to array a small coalition against us? I don't think this "grand crusade" is over! You'd better get those 27 nations you managed to cobble together (dios mio man!) locked in real quick, maybe they can help you get better terms when it's all over. lol.
12. o/ ODN! o/ C&G! The Network hungers, and so tonight, we dine in [s]a very classy restaurant[/s] HELL!!!!
13. The Network Hungers, and FEAR isn't putting a damper on our appetites.
14. Congratulations on your official founding, LEG! A special "Good Luck" to AntonioII and Prather!
15. Congratulations, Legion! A solid beginning!
16. Congratulations, Legion! Off to a good start!
17.
Just because you piss and moan about something for years doesn't mean it's going to be changed just to suit your desires. If it was just you complaining, and 400 others who aren't complaining, it shouldn't come as a huge surprise that things don't change overnight. And to be honest, one person complaining time and time again does not automatically make their complaint legitimate.
For the record, lmcfalcon was not the only one repeatedly complaining about blatent racism from certain members for several years. I've reported easily a half-dozen of Arbiter's posts. Slap on the wrist, all around. I'm not one to paint the entire Legion over the behavior of a couple of members, but it's a miracle that his behavior never resulted in an international incident on the BBs a long time ago, and insinuating that lmcfalcon was a lone whiner for being offended by it belies a lack of knowledge about that which you're talking. That being said, hopefully everyone involved learned something by this, appropriate changes can be implemented, and we can all grow as individuals through this community. But then again, this is CN, and these are the BBs... Good Luck, Legion. Good Luck in Hydra, LmcFalcon12. Why is there no "beating a dead horse" smilie here?
18. /me saLUEtes. It's been too long, welcome back! Personally, I've always considered Mushroom Kingdom sort of a LUE-lite. It will be interesting to have the original back again! edit: wait a minute, is this an April Fool's thing? :/
19.
Someone surrendered to ODN?? HAHAHAHAHAHA!
Don't worry, in the coming days I imagine it will become less and less surprising through regularity.
20.
I will say this to the relationship of TOP and NpO. There was a rapid and changing relationship in the months before this war, in the end the only thing that truly prevented us from signing a military agreement was the fact that The Order of the Paradox maintained it's protection of the Sweet Oblivion, and the New Polar Order maintained it's alliances with the New Sith Order and the GOONS. Our relationship was on very good terms before this war, and the fact that the Mushroom Kingdom even requested that we join in against TOP put us in such a difficult position that no matter which path we chose we were going to be attacked mercilessly on these forums, and from both sides in this war. Did we make the right decision? I don't think so, but it doesn't change the fact that we did have a MDoAP with both Greenland Republic and the Mushroom Kingdom and our close friends at STA had a military agreement with MK and Vanguard as well. Had the declarations of war happened in a manner that respected the treaties that the New Polar Order possessed this whole war would be a completely different struggle....
Had the New Polar Order started this whole fiasco with any forethought, concern, or regard for the compromising of their allies' known treaties... Oh, I can't even fathom what would have happened in such an alternate universe at this point, but you get the idea.
21. Good to see. Congratulations to MHA/GO and I'm glad to see that TUF emerged from this quickly without being ground down too much.
22. It's disappointing to see this, guys. Good luck out there.
