  1. I personally approve any original post by @CrinkledStraw regardless of content.
  2. I'm afraid I couldn't get past the 'clearly' printer errors in the original post. Apparently Kashmir is doing something to someone. Welcome.
  3. My nation of Vijar is home to many of the pouched fauna known in other worlds as marsupials. The wombat is a great digger, somewhat single-minded, and known to give a nasty nip. They are also rather fond of carrots. Give one a carrot or two and you have generally won them over. Hello, Enrage. Like a carrot?
  4. The focus on the stupid is really a poor reflection on @firingline . He did post a lot - he specialises in inanities.
  5. The sound of dripping was echoing in the darkness. The rhythmic patter created an uneasy atmosphere, but it was not as unnerving as the smell. The taint of death was all pervading and Sir W_A_R’s mount, Daffodil the Flatulent was skittish as a consequence. His mare was used to the clamour and action of battle, but this was different. The flickering flame of his brand provided enough light to allow him to witness a sample of the carnage he was riding through. Trebuchet and the other machines of war were indiscriminate and did not distinguish the innocent from the combatant. Daffodil snorted in a vain attempt to cleanse the odour from her flaring nostrils. W_A_R was grim faced and stroked the mare’s neck and clicked his tongue to calm and encourage her to refocus on the trail. Even the carrion eaters refused to touch the dead here. Another light could be seen in the distance, swaying in a rhythm that suggested a rider was approaching. W_A_R brought Daffodil to a stop and surveyed his immediate surrounds in case he need to respond to an attack. It was unnecessary as a call came out, identifying the incoming rider as friendly. An OBR dispatch rider. The young rider and her lathered mount slowed to a walk. W_A_R recognised the woman from the Black Rose diplomatic corp. As she drew her horse to a stop, she retrieved a sealed order from her messenger bag. "Good evening Sir W_A_R" she announced as steam rose up from her hardy steed. "I bring a message from the Council." She passed the message across to W_A_R, who immediately broke the wax seal and unfolded the parchment. He smiled and turned back to the other rider. "Head back down the road to the encampment. See the Calvary Master for water and feed for your ride, and then do likewise for yourself at the camp kitchen. Ask for the Camp Master. He should be able to find you a tent for the night." W_A_R rubbed his bristly jaw in thought. It was an unusual conflict thus far, with many surprises. None more so than seeing the Moldavi Doctrine being exercised in support of the Order of the Black Rose. He welcomed the support of Johnny Apocalypse and Ouroboros and wondered who else may choose to join the Old Codgers' Coalition.
  6. The Black Rose welcomes the support of Ouroboros in our just and worthy cause.
  7. There seems to be a mellowing with age here, Tyga. It just doesn't feel right.
  8. That wasn't tough talk, FL. Simply an observation. OCC: I hope I don't need to explain the 'gag' in the oneliner for you. The phrase 'hiding in peace mode' is really not applicable here. Maybe 'waiting in peace mode'. I like having you wait for me.
  9. Hello, @Van Hoo X. As always, a pleasure. Apparently @firingline is getting his burns through other means.
  10. Oh, in war OBR generally leaves a sour taste in other folk's mouths. Open wide.
  11. What does trash taste like, FL? My culinary experience doesn't extend to your preferred menu, and for that matter, the vocabulary you use.
  12. From one old fart to another - the colonoscopy is clear, let's go party!
  13. Greetings. I guess I now need to bone up in the Black Keep library in respect to the ancient art of Onychectomy.
  14. Thank you, @Joseph Black. I look forward to riding into battle at some point. My destrier, Daffodil the Flatulent has been brought back from pasture and is in dire need of an equine cardio program. She is under the care of the stable halfwit I mentioned earlier. A good natured lad, excellent with horses and works hard at his tasks. His mother, brought him to the Black Keep and thus away from the attention of some village bullies. In all my years you would think that the number of bullies would decrease, but alas there is no evidence of this. I suspect the reverse is true; there are some that encourage this sort of behaviour, celebrate it, laugh at the harm it causes. The nastiness seems to have intensified, creating an environment where any kindness is considered weakness; any divergent or intelligent thought, an aberration. Hence where we are today. While my tongue is as keen as it ever was, sadly this is not so for my weapons. My last battle was trying to fit into my armour. A trip to the smithy should assist. Some say that going back into battle is like riding a horse. You don't forget. I am not so sure, as I need to regain some battle-hardness, and avoid the saddle-soreness. During a short stint with CON, joining up with my old GOLD comrade Machiabelly, we went to war against \m/. My opponent was Warrior Concept, no slouch at battle. Youthful and hotheaded, but a good heart, I remember him from the Silent01 Affair. He was tough, but I feel I acquitted myself well enough. Hopefully I will do so again with the Old Codgers Coalition.
  15. There is clearly no concept of damage control here. Nor the ability to keep messaging on point. In the day this type of stupidity demonstrated by FL would have had significant internal Alliance consequence. It hints at some fundamental failings
  16. OBR has no formal ties with any other Alliances (with the exception of the Old Codgers Coalition). We do have some old friendships. I fully understand why that sort of information would be kept close to the chest until the time is right. We were aware that moves were being made in black; simply not to what extent.
  17. You are really, really bad at this. That your Alliance leaders haven't intervened and asked you to retire to your bedroom while the adults talk is an indictment on their leadership as well.
  18. If the Black Rose had discovered maize, I'd be eating popcorn right about now.
  19. You do know how long I have been active in this world, FL? The nature of rulers and alliances that I have encountered? But on occasion there is always one who is so self-deluded, self-absorbed, so completely unable to see the facts. A zealot, a radical, indoctriated. There are people able to help people like you who are so afflicted. They will help clear your mind, free you from the bondage of your delusions and misguided beliefs. Call me, I can put you in contact with a terrific apothacary as well.
  20. Interesting. Pleased that OBR and OG have taken action at the time that we have. Clearly ill intent was intended and it was just a matter of timing. The benefit for OBR is that under other circumstances you may have attacked and OBR may not have had support. But now, with your hands full, well it has got to hurt just a little bit.
  21. Curious use of language, FL; "our sphere". Please remind me, who was there first? And of course peaceful coexistence would mean that OBR would not have been attacked without prejudice in the first instance. Once again you are talking a big game with no capacity to back it up. Impotence can have that affect.
  22. It has been some time, Jason 8. And indeed, Optimum from Old Guard has represented the Old Codgers Coalition with aplomb.
