Uralicans Keeping Eyes On Many Nations
SYKTYVKAR - Although the "Sinikotat" are the team to cheer for in the upcoming FIFOB Alliance Cup, the population of the quasi-Siberian nation of Uralica, the footy-mad fans there are also following many other teams.
Since the nation was originally a member of the Christian Coalition of Countries, some are focussing on the nation of South Sudan, the Coalition's only entrant. Others still are choosing from the other six entrants from their own current alliance, The Order Of Light - Kvasa, Pyros, Willems nation, the dakotans, Novaja Zemlja, and/or KingsIndia. Still others are picking nations to follow that have had a favorable history with Uralica - those like Prince Edward Island, Steelertopia, and Hawkislava.
"The atmosphere is absolutely electric here," says Uralikan Palloliitto president Kimi Hartikainen. "Not only are they excited about seeing our men play in this amazing event, but they are taking an active interest in the game in general. This could be he beginning of an invitational tournament, plus to see Uralicans excited about their allies' progress is encouraging. FIFOB has really pulled off something big with this."
Uralica is seeded tenth in the Cup meaning that they do not play in the first round, and its ruler, Jarkko Salomäki, is the team captain at left back. He is also a very outspoken footy pundit on Bob.
"I think Uralica is a pretty capable side," he says. "Anything less than the final knockout round will be a bit of an eyebrow-raiser, although we're tough enough to take a drop-out from the Group stage. I don't think we'll win it all, but I'll be damned if we don't try and go down fighting! Khavkuk [shlomov] is itching to test his mettle against the best on Bob. And trust me, I know from having faced him, that kid is AWESOME. The NOAH nations are probably going to mop up, although Arcadian Empire, Transvaal, and nations with strong traditions like those will also do well. I'd like to see South Sudan and the other TOOL nations do well, too, but there are over two hundred other teams to compete against, so we'll see."
