  1. I read the whole thing. I usually ALWAYS read Hal's posts completely. They're entertaining, and usually very informative. Congrats on 2 years!
  2. Nations of CN: I am FinsterBaby, the new President of IRON. My apologies for not addressing you sooner. I have been extremely busy cleaning the IRON Presidential Suite of various amounts of mud and hippo, um, leftovers. I know that a change at the top of an influential alliance such as ours can cause some consternation among others. That's only natural. I am here to try and make sure that the Cyberverse at large is aware of IRON's stances and positions. As background, I've been involved in IRON since April of 2007, with a 4 month break due to RL issues. I have been active in IRON's military for the most part, having most recently held the position of Minister of Defense. However, don't let that make you think that I believe that diplomacy is best at the end of a pointed .45. That is not the case. To IRON's allies everywhere: The change in leadership in IRON does not mean that IRON's policies will change. IRON will stand true to its ideals and principles as it has in the past. To those who wish to grow closer to IRON: We welcome you. Feel free to reach out to any member of IRON's government. We're quite active on IRC. We'd love to hear from you! I have begun to reach out to various leaders of alliances to introduce myself to them. This process will be on going as I get comfortable in the position. Feel free to send me a query introducing yourself to me so that I can continue to know more about you and your alliances. I look forward to prosperous times both in IRON and in the cyberverse! Meanwhile, celebrations in #iron continue. We might even have some orange cake left over. Thank you for your time.
  3. Official IRON Response: You will not receive peace. We don't take kindly to your actions.
  4. k. This can be closed. Many thanks.
  5. That's what I thought too, however, I'd like to hear from a mod to make sure that this is 100% the case.
  6. I apologize if this has been answered before, but I'm certainly not finding the answer. I had arranged for nation sitting over the 4th of July weekend, due to political events. These events did not occur, and the nation I had asked to sit never logged into my nation, per our agreement. Since the sitter never logged in, do the usual restrictions of no trade/aid etc, still apply? The request for Nation Sitting is here: http://forums.cybernations.net/index.php?s...st&p=722368 Thank you for your time.
  7. Posted on behalf of Donald Word through SackoHammers: Surrender accepted 2008020 0220Z
  8. Hmm... My first reaction was to be pissed. I lost ~11k NS, which, compared to some of you, is peanuts. But after several hours to reflect, maybe this isn't such a bad idea. My only REAL gripe about the whole tech thing is this: Admin would have been better to have given CN some notice that this was going to occur. To leave for work one morning with 32K NS and come home at 21K *IS* a blind side, no matter how you slice it. Those who point out that nothing has really changed, just the weighting are right. If anyone really is unhappy and wants to dump tech, I have $3M for you for 150, and I'd be glad to do it. However, and maybe someone more savvy than I am can suggest this in the approriate location (I don't need credit) a sliding scale of tech/NS weighting could be created. This would really reflect how technology helps a nation. Something along the lines of this: First 150 tech = 20ns weighting 150.01 - 250 = 15ns weighting 250.01 - 350 = 10ns weighting 350.01+ = 5ns weighting Since afte 300, the only thing it does is increase NS, then the lowest multiplier should be applied. Yeah, that might be difficult to code, but it would accurately reflect technology on a nation's strength in real world terms. Just a thought...
  9. Yes, but at 2:00pm this afternoon we launched attacks against him and reduced his troop strength.
  10. I beg to differ on this one, because I know I've made initial attacks that have thrown a nation into anarchy. I could be wrong tho, and I'm certainly not trying to be a jerk about the whole thing. I'd appreciate it if someone who can definitively answer this to please respond (member of the moderation team preferrably), I'd appreciate it.
  11. I beg to differ, as I had a nation down to 1487 troops with a 20k population, he didn't anarchy, he rebuilt and is still not in anarchy. http://forums.cybernations.net/index.php?showtopic=2461
  12. While engaging this nation: http://www.cybernations.net/nation_drill_d...Nation_ID=36593 Myself and a comrade reduced him to 1487 troops. His citizen population is 20,410. He has since, in about 25 minutes time, rebuilt to his normal battle strength. What we're wondering is why did he not anarchy? By my calculations, and it may be off slightly, 20% of 20,410 is 4082. I'm willing to grant that this may be off slightly, but the nation should have anarchied, and didn't. Can someone explain this? Many thanks.
