  1. I'm just amused someone thinks GATO internal stuff is worth posting. Of course it took blatantly false context and some out right lies to make it interesting.
  2. I emphasised "whole" because he expressly said "whole". Some tiers were fighting for months (aka 80k+ tier), the other tiers were given quick release when we realised the war wasn't going as long as we expected. As has been said earlier, GATO was making it a tier war for the long haul. The middle and lower tiers did make it out of PM. To say they never made it out is wrong. Legion, RnR etc. had plenty of time to have nations declare on me. Nobody did so. Once a round of wars expired, I'd just declare on another. I wasn't the only one in that boat, a lot of GATOans in war mode was surprised by the lack of declarations on them. If you're going to complain about lack of wars, fill up the ones who are free first? Then complain? I'm evidently not trying to enhance or even make a claim on military performance, i'm simply wondering what goes through your mind to pretend such absurd statements you make are "facts". It seems like you're just annoyed that parts of the alliance were in PM longer than you wanted. Oh well, we're not here to please our opposition. That's right, don't let proper context get in the way of your selective quoting.
  3. You might want to check up how many nations were in PM for the whole war. Stop playing fool, your implication is complete BS. You're saying it's not a tactic if nations stay out for the entire war. You're linking GATO to being in PM the entire war....but they weren't, only part of the war. Which means...your comment is moot and just another patently false claim. Don't exaggerate or make up stuff? Am I missing some sort of record attempt seeing how many people can make as many blatantly false statements as possible? By all means, don't let facts get in the way of whatever you purport to be "logic".
  4. That's weird, how come I had to just peace out a war if I was in PM for the whole war?
  5. Don't be silly. 5/191 is not an "activity issue". Roughly that amount, or even a couple more are inactive every war. It's realistic to people's *other* obligations. We're happy, and it's not really our fault you guys decide to take selective quoting which destroys all context and paints an entirely different picture of the general alliance happenings, as anything more than fluff. If he posted the full threads of those posts, people would be like "oh, this is boring there's nothing interesting". Just label the OP as "unsubstantiated". And chances are next war, magicninja will be leading it. If you guys looked at our war and electoral history, you'd realise a pattern.
  6. I like the determination to consistently say the wrong thing and pass it off as 'fact'. Don't let inaccuracies get in the way of a good humour piece. Now you just need the good humour!
  7. Nobody "didn't want to fight". So you can forget about that being a "fact". Inactivity is what it is, we love our members, even if they're very busy with non-CN things. Magic had a tier-war tactic from the beginning, GATO members knew that and absolutely respected the decision, particularly when trying to predict how long the conflict would go for from the very beginning, the tactic was about a very long-haul type battle, take down each tier one at a time. Whether it was successful or a good idea or not you can debate all you want, it doesn't really interest me. Of course in hindsight the battle was rather short, which is a shame for nations like myself. There wasn't a refusal to fight on the membership's part. There wasn't an unwillingness to fight on the membership's part. GATOans love being able to get out of PM and fight. That is the point of CN after all. But we also had to balance that with our tactics of trying to last the long haul and actually fight as best we possibly can, which meant delayed and for some of us very long delayed war time action. It really is as simple as that. People will try to spin that with absurd BS, but rational reasonable minds are nothing more than a rarity when it comes to objectively viewing things on here. Yes, the war didn't go nearly as long as expected, such is the life of an unpredictable war. There was no refusal, the organisation was fine, it's simply just down to a debate on our tactics used. No matter how many times our opposition attempt to coax us into running kamikaze style into an ambush, it simply will not happen, sorry to disappoint. GATO acted in consideration to all its allies and its obligations, if that means not playing as big a part in the war, then I guess that's that. If the coalition want to pat GATO on the back, that's their prerogative. I haven't put forward an opinion on the actual war effort itself, I just fight and do my thing so I won't be drawn into any of that, mostly because I don't put much time to study the absolute going ons in the war in general, sorry. Overall, the biggest discontent for me is stating absolute inaccuracies as facts, being corrected and then continually stating those inaccuracies as facts. You really do need to filter out all the non-GATOans posting crap here to be able to understand what is going on in GATO. GATO is always its own harshest critic, it's part of the feedback loop that is democracy, so we really have no issue making concessions on valid criticisms. The problem lies with the fluff.
  8. Five members were so inactive they didn't see the request until days/weeks later. How many times must it be repeated? It has been made abundantly clear. In GATO it is acceptable for people to have busy real lives. We aren't hardcore gamers, like most other alliances. We think of it as "only five people away, you beauty!". There's advantages and disadvantages to being an older membership of generally casual people. Great community, not so great CN military activity/efficiency. People can have a go at military tactics/efficiency, whatever, but the claims of not following orders, of dissent, of people in GATO opposing what we're doing, even passively is really absurd. Even for an alliance with a variation of views in almost everything, when it comes to war, we're consistently united, as is the case today. There hasn't even been an inkling of dissent, it's all a cocktail of BS from a person who gets personal enjoyment from making fluff pieces with as little legitimacy as possible.
  9. Ermahgerd. Come on. Scrap the crap non-GATO people are saying and listen to what people from the actual alliance of GATO are telling you in regards to what is happening in GATO. Otherwise, you're just listening to ridiculously absurd statements that are FOFF (Fantastic or Farfetched). Let's get basic facts right. 5/191 nations did not follow orders provided. Out of of those 5, none of them actively chose to disregard orders. They simply never read them due to not being active (RL) or because they will be away/unable to login frequently enough to fight, for which they gain exemption. Those are legitimate reasons that GATO has no problem with. GATO is actually happy with that level of activity, it's pretty good for us. It could be better obviously, but it certainly isn't bad for busy GATO. Fact is, a lot of people have other things to do in their lives. 0/191 nations intentionally failed to follow orders. To state that "your own troops will not follow you" is blatantly wrong. In fact, 5 nations not being active is a rather good effort considering GATOans are not hardcore gamers. I would be surprised if other alliances have above roughly 97% (give or take for ghosts etc.) of nations active. That would be simply extraordinary levels of efficiency. There is nothing "passive aggressive" about this, it's a stock standard post that happens each war. We like to avoid complacency. The responses in the thread consisted of mostly "let's get rollin" "bring on the nukes" etc. There isn't even a hint of dissent within GATO. If an election was called today, GATO would re-elect our MoD in a landslide result. The disparity between what's painted on here and what's actually happening in GATO in terms of drama is absurd. If anything, GATO is too quiet at the moment, the war doesn't really feel like a war, we feel like we're chugging along nicely doing our thing.
  10. This post really does need to be properly drafted. I'm just not feeling the 'Fox News, let's sell whatever crap the public wants' style format. I'm a man of substance, sorry. Images and poetry cut for compactness. Drafter comments in red.
  11. Ermahgerd, I don't know why a lot of you seem intent on making entirely inaccurate statements. Is credibility is overrated? Is it easy to BS-yourselves? This post probably won't do much for most of you who prefer to concoct fluff pieces (Shattenman). Join GATO and take a look for yourself? 1. There has been no refusal of orders at all on the grounds of disagreeing. None at all. 2. MoD/AC collects 69 and 90% of the votes respectively in their positions (although, barely anyone bothered to actually go up against them, they were rather unanimous choices knowing that war was coming). The membership is arguably more satisfied with the government now than last election. 3. GATOans don't dissent in war, even those who have voiced their contrasting opinions in past wars have still fought in those past wars. (It's actually hard to find opinions of people who strongly or moderately disagree with this war, most are excited for war, some are cautious, others don't really care.) 4. Those who don't follow orders get sent to the High Court. As a high court justice, I have seen no cases put forward by the government. Nobody could be prosecuted because, as stated above, nobody has refused orders or been disobedient. 5. Every MoD makes a variation of that post every war. No matter how well or how badly we are going, we get that type of message. It's all about rousing up the activity. I will say this though, GATO is very united in enjoying what appears to be getting under Shatt's skin! GATOans aren't exactly hard core gamers. A lot of the big oldies go inactive for months at a time. How did you go from 5 (the real number who didn't go out of PM when they probably should have) to 40? The entirety of those who did not come out was because of inactivity or military advice by the MoD. As magic has stated, most people who should have been out of PM, were actually out of PM!
  12. This is the stock standard message we get every war no matter how many people enter the war. It's all about Rouse Rouse Rouse! It really does take a lot of Self-BS to pretend nothing is something, Shatt is great at doing that. If we had all (or even any of) the internal drama people think we have, the place would actually be much more active.
  13. It depends on the member you talk to, some like, some hate, some don't care. 'Huge disdain' would not be a correct description. In order for there to be disobedience, people have to actively defy orders. Nobody did that. I haven't seen any post from any member saying they will not fight, it's just the fact that a lot of GATOans are busy in real life. Lack of general activity is the issue, but people have uni, social life etc. which takes precedent. In an ideal world everyone would be active. We believe magicninja is one of our best military men. And Laserwolf is one of our all-time most popular leaders. We like CnG, we feel at home in CnG. We like our allies and we respect our allies' allies. If you want a genuine inside view, we feel we've done very well for ourselves considering the situation.
  14. Trying to reclaim the 2013 prize this year I see.
  15. We tend to cause fear in opponents. Sozzy!
