  1. RPing to your nation's stats should, at the very least, be a common-sense starting point for identifying a nation's strength and potential influence in CNRP. I'll have to disagree only with point 1 in that if some giant nation joined CNRP, I'd let him have the ability to kick the crap out of most alliances and/or blocs here. If Matt Miller shows up saying, "HAI GUYS!!! LET'S RP," and then proceeds to nuke us all into oblivion, I'd accept the RP because of his nation's overwhelming NS, wonders, technology, etc., etc. If in-game stats are the base and someone has a massive base, they should be able to take out anyone who doesn't have a decent shot. (1/2 NS or less, in my opinion) There is no reason to max out IG to be maxed out in CNRP. I am nearly maxed out because it doesn't harm my nation in terms of environment but it does cost a little extra every day to keep my nation ready and alert. There can be "ready" troops and "reserve" troops and then what I'd call "last resort" troops consisting of soldiers and RP citizens but your "ready" troops are your IG troops and your potential troops can be your "reserves".
  2. So let me get this straight... your warn level went DOWN and you're reporting it...as a bug?!? I'm fairly certain they go away after 90 days without another warning but even if they didn't... Your warn level went DOWN and you're reporting it...as a bug?!?
  3. *Looks up the definition of trolling, looks at my post* I was answering his question using the most honest and plausible theory of why the reports were not being done according to his timetable. It wasn't trolling and seeing as you're responsible for the second largest number of reports in recent days, one could argue that you've contributed to this backlog as well. Giving an answer to a question is not trolling just because the answer is not appealing to the OP. These are great forums and the response time of the mods here is pretty dang fast compared to the mod staff in other forums. *orders a philo*
  4. Face it, the mods are humans too, glorious humans, but humans nonetheless. They will not be on 24/7 to answer every minor grievance you bring against the community. I'm looking at the forum reports right now. You are responsible for the majority of the reports in the first couple of pages... I like to make a report now and again when it's especially heinous or gross conduct but I don't expect it answered or looked at in 24, even 48 hours. They get answered when they get answered.
  5. My money, and this is just a guess, is on them looking, seeing 20 reports from the same person in a row, then looking outside, seeing the wonderful weather of summer, and going, "Yay summer!" You created the backlog and then proceed to complain about the backlog?
  6. Now is that gradually OVER 30 days... or 30 days then *poof* back to nothing...?
  7. Dang. Well let me know if the trade circle doesn't work out then.
  8. That works for me. I'm busy teaching one nation the ways of CN so I'm currently trading with him while we're waiting for the final slot. Edit: I have cattle and FURS, not fish. We still need fish and silver.
  9. I have cattle and furs and I am willing to join if you could briefly explain, through in-game PM, why I should move to this trade circle.
  10. Team: White (Will take other teams though) Nation: Land of 1000 Swords Ruler: Kielmog Nation Link: Land of 1000 Swords My resources: Cattle and furs (good for nation growth (land) and income) Needed resources: Lead and Lumber This would be a long-term deal. I'm not looking for a one-night stand. PM me or send a trade offer.
  11. For those here who OPPOSED the update, go here. That is all. For Opposition Only
  12. The problem with your suggestion to build border walls is that some nations, as have posted previously have LOST improvement slots, making border walls nearly impossible to get without destroying other aspects of the nation, such as infra cost reduction and tech cost reduction. Also, nations need a little thing called cash to randomly buy 5 border walls after destroying 5 of their previously useful improvements. I know environment needed to be MORE of a factor, just not this much of a factor. There are plenty of nations with established trade circles that are now forced to move to different and now, thanks to the update, better trade sets. Any decent player will attest to this. Nukes pollute the planet, yes, we got that. Yes, you think nukes are bad, we got this. Major game changes should, at the very least, not get a day or two's debate by way of mass-PM or some other means to contact all members. I know you are not responsible for this aspect but again, this comes down to you either blatantly ignoring or simply forgetting about the smaller nations in CN. I have several members just in my alliance alone who will attest to either being in the middle of backcollecting and being ambushed or of being sent into bill-lock with established trade sets. Here are your links: Third post in Posts 2, 12, Wait a sec... all of these are in this topic... Nuff said.
  13. A lie to attack you? You honestly want me to believe you get no satisfaction from having one of your "helpful suggestions" implemented in the game. Bogus. You defend it because you do not want to see your contribution removed and I understand that but I fear it gets in the way of the truth of the matter. Anyways, let me highlight the points that you have failed to evaluate correctly. 1) I am in the process of speaking to many nations whose trade sets worked previously and are now forced to search for completely new resources and partners, a process that, unfortunately, can take as long as several weeks or a couple of months. 2) Uranium, oil, and other environmentally harming resources now make pursuing industrialization very costly and destroy the idea of prosperity by industrialization. Add the fact that nuclear weapons now do environmental damage and you have the destruction of a system that WASN'T BROKEN. 3) Players whose strategy HAS WORKED PREVIOUSLY and should work now does not because the update throws off the balance of environment vs. industry so much that it skews the "real-esque" feel of the game and makes some nations who were collecting respectable amounts lose a lot of money. I am not even one of these nations and I still sympathize with them. 4) This idea was better left in your head. I'd apologize for the melodramatic nature of my first post, but I'd rather see the update reversed first. Edit: Dang my lack of dexterity... edited for typos and junk.
  14. Fine. It does not improve the game. It only widens a gap that was plenty wide enough. Now respond to the rest of it. Edit: Lol. Period.
  15. I know you want your ego to be boosted by this approval of one of your ideas, DAC, but this is atrocious. It's not playing smart or improving the game to unbalance the resources to such a large extent. Uranium is no pointless for anyone not in the top 5% and those nations who start with it will get a. no trading partners leading to b. slowed economic growth and c. eventual disinterest or rerolling The environment has now taken precedent over industrialization. Do you know how crazy that is? I know this game is not realistic, but it strives for a "real-esque" feel. This update has quashed that feeling and not only that, set back the growth of some nations by months and others by days and weeks because there was no warning. My main problem with this update was not the concept, but the execution. The numbers are flawed, giving preferential treatment to the larger nations, especially those already in the top 5%. If this had been a gradual increase of environmental effect or even the total upgrade with a week's warning, I would not be objecting to it. As it stands, this was a blitz on otherwise established medium-sized nations who had established trade sets, were in wars, or otherwise ambushed. Face it, DAC, this idea was either better left in your head. I have no idea why the admin agreed to a suggestion that came from probably one of the only people in this game that was not going to suffer from it. It's not your fault for being large, it's your fault for not taking into account the needs and feelings of smaller nations when you suggested it. Edit: Typos annoy me.
  16. I understand that this is a beta, which is why the suggestions of the MAJORITY of the members, no matter how poorly worded or inarticulately written, should take precedence over the ramblings and insipid ideas of one very large nation. The admins tried something, nobody likes it except for those that are unaffected by it, and therefore it should be removed. Simple as that. The NS calculations affected everyone equally and while annoying, proportionally affected each nation. That was fair and balanced... to quote a horrible news source. This is not. I've already submitted a petition asking for a reversal of this change until a more moderate and better system of adding impact to the environment can be thought up. Hopefully, the topic is approved. I URGE EVERYONE who is dissatisfied with this most recent of game changes to sign it if it gets approved. Edit: fixed a typo or two. *sigh* While not articulate or eloquent, it is an opinion, and when large numbers of people say it, it must be accounted for. Suffice it to say, the environment having little to no impact should be in place over this ridiculous overshoot that was created.
  17. Someone's in denial. This only truly affects up-and-coming nations who had, as of previous days, been playing this game with a semblance of competence. Now the resources are ridiculously unbalanced and wars/conflicts that were currently happening are now thrown into chaos. Bad form: No warning. Bad form: Little time for deliberation. Bad form: Taking the opinion of someone who will be unaffected. Bad form: Lack of careful planning. Bad form: The current ignoring of the outcry by many members of CN that do not have 100k NS. Good form: Increase in discussion. That is all.
  18. So was this one but it got approved.
  19. Good update. [/super obvious sarcasm] Here's a preview for the next update: You know how tech used to be good for the government? Now it's bad. So bad. Every 100 tech= -$2000.00 to your income. Phew. Only the larger nations survive. Wait, wait, I got it. Every infra you buy causes a leprechaun to leap from your game and kick you in the nads. Unless if you have more than 14,000 infra. No, wait. Buying a nuke causes you to have to listen to Goldmember say, "Can I paint his yoo-hoo GOLLLDDD?" 50 times if your NS is less than 100k. All without any warning. I love CN, but this update is THE worst idea ever. Watergate, the Bay of Pigs, the Vietnam War, THESE were better ideas than this update. Ouch, way to screw up big time.
  20. Fact is now environment has too much of an impact. This is supposed to be a NATION SIMULATION game, not a fantasy game. There are countries with some of the worst environments in the world today that prosper more due to their environmental detriment. The environment should never be made a large factor in this game because it is not a large factor in real life, which is what this game is trying to simulate. If the environment did this much damage in real life, the United States, Japan, and other nations, SCREWED. I think the Netherlands would quickly find itself the hegemon if this update were applied to real life. Yes, the environment needed fixing to have at least some impact, but, I shall make a crude visual Lower the effects on population and income for a negative environment. Let's try to keep this a REALISTIC nation simulation game. The best part, if not the central aspect about CN is the war aspect and the hegemony aspect. Making wars this costly takes the motivation out of nations to ever conflict with each other. To summarize: this update __________________________________________________ what was needed
