1. EDIT: Nvm, don't want to turn this into a bashing thread like all other threads in the OWF. But I do have a question for you... perhaps personally Lord Boris. Who is your favorite character in the Dragonlance series? Can be any character period, in the side novels or the main time line.
2. Welcome to the Orange sphere! Beer to your right, and here's your gift basket of oranges!
3.
They bailed on GUARD and announced a treaty with NpO literally five minutes after leaving, showing they prefer to run from responsibilities rather than face them. They helped Continuum fight a BS war against NV, bailed on their longest ally a month before they get stomped in the WotC, and slithered their way out of the karma war.
That seems more like clever politicking to me...
Even though I will more than likely be ignored, I feel semi-obligated to say something. I don't really see how we bandwagon when we were one of the first alliances to defend Athens (C&G). At that point TOP/IRON had the advantage, it was not clear where everyone will fall. As for the changing sides thing, perhaps we just got closer to more people on another "side" before Karma began. If you think about the chances of us having an elaborate plan that involved "leaching" to the stronger side that has spanned over 14 kings (correct me if I'm wrong but I think thats about how many we've had). The odds are very unlikely. As for these "heavy reps" imposed on TOOL and Legion.....how are they even closed to being called heavy? I could pay TOOL's reps with my current warchest. I know that being on the losing side of the war makes you lose money quicker but I am one nation and I was just barely in the to 5% at the start of the war. I also feel the need to point out that I was in Sparta during the hegomony stage and I don't remember requesting reps often, or very little if we did. I also find it interesting that everyone is focusing so hard on Sparta when other alliances have required much heavier reps in proportion to their size. I understand someone who against all reps to be mad toward everyone. But a lot of people are saying "Sparta is so evil, look at those insane reps" When other people have requested reps as well. Anyway, if you made it through my boring speech I hope you at least consider some things I said.I promise were not evil (besides maybe Wilhelm.....but I've always known this )Edit: you wouldn't know WtD = Wilhelm
It is not so much the monetary value (although still unfavorable), but a time issue. It would take them a long time to pay off those reps, and that is if they can even dish out 100% payment ratios and Sparta would be able to accept them at 100% ratios. However, that never happens as the accepting alliance can always say they don't have the aid slots available to accept the rep payment and hold the other alliance for longer periods of time. Thus being, a time table should have been set and agreed upon by both parties. Though if such a topic was even discussed about, I don't know.
4.
Magistra (Zainster14) of the Purple team of no alliance was attacked with a nuclear weapon by ocpuck13 (ocpuck13) of the Black team of the alliance The Phoenix Hatchery on 2/28/2010 10:13:30 AM.
That was the first nuke dropped in Round 10 So far, 2 nukes have been detonated.
5. Who knows? They don't necessarily do anything to piss off the world, but they have allies enough to be in the wars. Their enemies don't consider them enough of a threat to care, and their allies are just happy to have them there.
6. Horribly coincidental. I just got done with a check up a few days ago and was given a pamphlet on how to keep myself in check. Granted, I do it every night anyways, and clean the pipes to help prevent it (true or not, I'll still do it).
7.
Here you go; a full diplomatic graphics package. It is up to you to convince Admin to use it.
/me stares at Admin with puppy dog eyes. Please?
8. Here be mine 1) Mobias - can't quite remember the name of it. Quit before the First GW due to lack of interest in the game 2) Haphestus - Joined GATO and fought in the Second Great war, was lost and confused especially when GATO surrendered, but really didn't surrender, so I didn't know what orders I was really following. 3) Hapestus (2) - Rerolled after the war due to crippling losses and a desire to get better resources. Fought in the Aegis vs. The Initiative war, loss, then started rebuilding. School started afterwords, got a girlfriend, then quit once again. 4)Haphestus 3 - Started once again and got my nation built up before the Unjust War. Was EXTREMELY happy to have been able to defeat the Initiative and dismantle GOONS. Thereafter, I left to bootcamp. 5) Tobistus - Started not to long ago, and hopefully, will be able to stay much longer than before. Though, I have noticed. Every time I start playing and join an alliance, we get thrown into a major war of some sort. Maybe I'm just bad luck.
9. When you stop paying attention to DoWs because you forget who's fighting who. When you look at a war web, and are still confused. When there are three colors on the war webs. When GRL is nearing the top in score compared to alliance score
10. This image or video has been moved or deleted... Photobucket Did you make a mistake in the linky? I can't see it, even using the direct url. EDIT: Nvm, guess you fixed it just as I was typing the above. Good Job!
11. With the power vacuum left behind by NPO, the whole of Bob was up for grabs. Crazy treaty webs were formed as their was no head base to cling onto. Because of that, this has happened. It's like the Dark Ages of CN. The New Pacific Order had fallen in Karma and left the throne empty. Will NPO be able to return to the throne once this is all over though? With the majority of Bob at war, the neutrals have their chance to jump up to the top. NPO seems to be one of the best positioned alliances, and they didn't even try. The rest of Bob did it for them.
12. Grub, at times, honor can be a shortfall at times. However, I can not lie... I respect you too much because of making this decision. I hope you didn't bite off more than you can chew, but... It's still hard for me to find the correct words for this. And so, all I can say is; Good luck and have fun! I'd welcome you to the fray, but well, you've been in it longer than any other alliance. Man, this has just become so... awkward.
13. Regardless, before this place becomes a massive debacle of totally OP unrelated topics, I commend you AUT and Carthage in whole for you decision to keep fighting. Keep up the fight and make the most fun out of it. Remember, ZI is only temporary (usually). o/ Carthage o/ AUT
14. Good sir, surrendering... well, that's just not an option. Granted, for as kind as it seems to allow us a way out, it is really just a way to prevent us from fighting like lions. As Sun Tzu stated Throw your soldiers into positions whence there is no escape, and they will prefer death to flight. If they will face death, there is nothing they may not achieve. Officers and men alike will put forth their uttermost strength. Soldiers when in desperate straits lose the sense of fear. If there is no place of refuge, they will stand firm. If they are in hostile country, they will show a stubborn front. If there is no help for it, they will fight hard. -Sun Tzu, in The Art of War This is a ploy to allow us a way out, and thus preventing a hard and drawn out fight. However, good sir, know this; Iron is strong, IRON is stronger. We are united under a cause. This cause may feel different in each of our own hearts, but all the same when our brethren face disarray. Even at the threat of ZI and total annihilation, we shall fight on for not ourselves, but each other. With all do respects sir, we shall never surrender! (This of course, coming from a non-council member)
15. I personally would understand and not be offended at all if Krynn were to stay neutral in this war. o/ Krynn o/ Boris
16.
I see a student of the Shahenshah School of OWFery has joined us today. I'm sorry, son, but you're not ready for your exit exams.
This is something I must ask, because I have only recently began to hear about this Shahenshah School. What the heck is it? Just some guy who posted a tl;dr about how to troll efficiently on the OWF without getting mod warned/ban? If so, could I have a link or source to see this article? It has me interested.
17.
Leeroy vs. the Dragon Whelps certainly has a nice ring to it.
I second that notion.
18. This seems like an attempt to start trolling and finger pointing from both sides of this war. However, I don't see a good reason for this. This war has been quite civil considering the events of what happened. Sure, anger had happened among several members in IRON who thought we were betrayed, however, cooler heads prevailed and we were able to sort things out among us. I'm also sure that C&G was confused and angry all the same that we had preemptively struck at them. Regardless of the situations, both sides have been civil for the most part and finger pointing is at a bare minimum. In other words: Just let the grown ups have their fun, and mind your own business unless you wanna get involved personally.
19.
(However, we frown upon certain civility, such as "hey don't nuke me and I won't nuke you" deals, in the arena of combat there should be no mercy or quarter given.)
There was once a time when this was a generally... unsaid rule when it came to wars. Wars were a little more challenging then as it took more to beat the crap out of your enemy to get them into anarchy. I knew many nations who honorably went down into anarchy without launching one nuke at their opponents. Hoever, times have changed, and nukes are much more acquirable. They have gone form this horrid weapon which would ruin everyone's economy due to global radiation, to an acceptable weapon of choice as it can easily decimate your opponent. Economy for those who can afford nukes anyways is hardly effected by nuclear fallout and can easily turn a blind eye to their glowing pixels. Just thought I'd mention this strange turn around since I last played before this reroll. Oh yes, also would like to mention, I see alot of humor between the two warring sides. This is one of the most civil wars I have seen between one another, and frankly, I love it. Now... only if I could get out of PM
20. Welcome the the fray and such! Maybe we'll see each other on the field... maybe not. Either way, we should have a keger after this war is over, all alliances invited. /me is glad he isn't in the nuking nation range right now.
21. A very honorable way about doing things. It's always good to have a refuge in a world as it is now.
22. Mmmmm Bacon.... See you on the field! Wanna have a few beers after this?
23. Wow, you guys just made it to the top of my list for best DoW of the war. I'd say, I'll see you on the battlefield, but that won't be likely since you are both way out of my NS range. Either way... HAVE FUN!
