1. TDO: Feb 08 - July 09. Left due to boredome/John Warbuck. Synergia: July 09 - Sept 09 (?). Merged into protector, due to all co founders getting hit by RL in one week. Kronos: Oct 09 - dec 09: Left Kronos when Heracles and Ender deleted and the magic of Kronos disappeared MHA: Nov 09 - june 11: Chose MHA for the Douglas Adams humour, that was a mistake. PS: LOLled at the nonsense iyiyth posted in #MHA2. Dumping him was the best decision they ever took. Don't get me going on his silly interferences in the economic part of the game. AzN, App: July 11- Oct 12: The inner circle was too closed, then found a great friend, great project: The Borg. Oct 12 - Dec 12: Then happened this: http://forums.cybern...pic=114140&st=0 31 Dec 12: Time to get a RL (if at least the universe isn't destroyed like an aid circle ago).
2. Buy some military, declare and we're in business. Though it may not be for a complete round, as I may leave this universe whenever my trade circle finds a replacement.
3. I am extremely sad having to tell the world that Francisco, Borg Overseer and cofounder has died at the age of 38, while doing what he liked the most: helping others. This is all the information I can share. Frank and myself, we were very complementing, like an old couple that finishes each others sentences. He was always full of original ideas and worked extremely hard. I'm sure that all of those who have had the priviledge of knowing him will agree with me: he was the friendliest person on the planet. I offer my condolences -and whatever an internet friend can do to support- to his father and his family. I'll miss you, handsome hispanic guy (I so loved your modesty). 4. Many thanks to VE, who made this possible. Even while I remember WarriorConcept and myself were exchanging nukes about 9 months ago. Also many thanks to all the other people who wished us all the best. As to the Borg incarnations, let me tell you the following: Frank (Francisco) and myself, we worked hard and developed an economical and military growth model for our future alliance. Since it was different to anything else on planet Bob, it took weeks to write out guides. After 2.5 months we could DoE. So, the day before, we Googled "The Borg Cyber Nations" and to our very great surprise, there suddenly showed up some message about someone wanting to start up a Borg themed alliance. We had necer seen any sign on he CN wiki and started a(nother) huge search (imagine the big panic!). It appears the micro DoE was the only post ever. Any more info is appreciated. We however expect a much longer life. We developed an economical and military model for our alliance, which is rather unique to CN and only later looked after a theme that covered our plans. The Borg did that.
5. Roll them TDO! But say it's a tech raid, to meet today standards.
6.
Have you seen the moon lately?
Your point being?
7.
They're too scared...Apparatus, Bull Moose and Biohazard Corp, have to join together to take us small little ole meaningless alliance down. Shows their war skills
You mean like NG + MK + TOP + Umbrella against Apparatus? Any of those alliances feeling offended by Leerjet and wanting war slots, PM me, I'll see what I can do.
8. I planned to join FOK as my Farewell-CN alliance. This will not happen, unfortunately. Although you could see it coming, it is still a surprise to me and I'll miss a classy alliance. All the best to you FOK nations!
9.
So far my assertion in the OP is holding up pretty well what do you guys think?
LOL, you don't stand a chance. Fighting inflation never succeeded. And if you piss off someone hard enough, the mentionned alliances may be without any tech (outside their economic slaves/allies) in three weeks from now. Three weeks, that's all it would take if someone wanted to teach them a lesson for their arrogance.
10. I'd like to thank GATO, VE, NG and TLR for helping to turn Apparatus into an elite alliance with 50% more tech than infra. Sort of a bonsai Umbrella.
11.
Is this a category you would like to see added?
Yes please, top 3, top 5?
12. I'm at 12k infra, buying 2k more would cost me 600/900M and my nett income would increase with 800K, which means that it will take 750 days before my investment repaid itself. Between now and 750 days, I'm sure a war will help me get rid of that 2k infra. Conclusion, there's no point in buying more infra. So, if you are like my nation and you have built a good WarChest and now starts spending $ to tech (1M/1T, indeed, what else should I do with it?), this is your circle. This is for the larger, nuclear capable nations that expect not to buy infra in the near future (6 months) and wants to be a mighty, high tech nation (Buying + importing = 1000T+/month). In peace time, we'll have Affluent Population, Fine Jewelry, Microchips and citizen multipliers (Wheat, Cattle, Sugar). In limited wars (one or some trade circle members), Sugar will change to Uranium. In world wide war time, we'll change to Al, Coal, Pigs, Uranium, Oil, Iron, Lead, Rubber, Marble, Lumber, Gold and Wheat. We need 6 nations for this. If you are interested, post an increased nation counter (add 1 to the last counter value). You'll be contacted by me. The nation counter is now at ONE.
13. Ok, it's now 4 days after the last post, but it took me some time to write this out, so I hope this isn't considered grave digging. When reading the above post, one wants to check the numbers and while not going into the last figure, the numbers used are generally correct (Except that 45000 citizens at 4k seems a bit too optimistic). BUT. When I got at the 3k infra level and had to decide wether yes or no continuing selling tech, I was a 3 month-ish nation. In those 100-ish days, I did read all the guides I could get and I knew what tech did to the economy of my nation. I used some time to set up a spreadsheet to optimise my tech selling and decided to continue as a tech seller. From what I remember, I was able to make a worthwhile profit till deep in the 4k infra level. Now, what's so different to the above post? Well, let's look at the influence of tech deals on your income. There are two parts: - The economical influence on bills and happines level - The profit of doing tech sales. Now, how is all of this influenced by the tech you have? The more tech you have, the less bills you pay and the more happiness (income, taxes) you get. So, more tech is higher income. Since bills and taxes are a daily business, the time period over which you will be using that tech has an influence on the profit made. So, longer is higher income. The less tech you have, the cheaper you can buy tech and the more profit you make doing tech deals. So, less tech is higher income. Now, put all the above in a spreadsheet and optimise your tech selling career. Again, this is in a distant past and I don't remember all the details, but generally it goes as follows - day 1: get 15M and buy X amount of tech (X= somewhere between 120...200) (only first run) - Till day 11: pay bills, collect taxes. - day 11: Send tech out and buy the extra amount needed for your 5 tech deals whenever you get at zero tech (keep it cheap) - day 11: buy X amount of tech (X= somewhere between 120...200) - till day 21: pay bills, collect taxes. - day 21: Send tech out and buy the extra amount needed for your 5 tech deals whenever you get at zero tech (keep it cheap) - day 21: buy 200 tech (200, that's because you will now be holding to the tech for 20 days, so you maximise your economical benefits) From now on, you do alternate on ten and twenty day back collections and buying X tech or 200 tech. It is some work to find the best point of how much tech you should have to get the best income, but it is easy to show that being a tech seller at 4k infra does not get you a nett loss, even if you don't buy the best amount of tech. Example: At day 1 get 15 M, buy 200T At day 11, send out the 200 tech, buy+send the 50 tech from slot 5, buy 200T At day 21, send out the 200 tech, buy+send the 50 tech from slot 5 Profit: Slot 5 is a standard deal and over the 30 days, the seller will make 1.4 M (Rounded for ease) Slot 1 will also be a standard deal, all tech is bought from 0 tech up. Another 1.4M Slot 4 will be the tech bought from 150 to 200, no profit Slot 2 and 3 will give profit though: together another 1.4 M So, nett profit: 4.2M which is indeed not the 7M some people expect, but it is far from losing money doing tech deals. At the 4k infra level, 4.2M is roughly 10% of your monthly nett income at 4k infra (or 16% at 3k). To me, that was worth the trouble. And it gets even better: you have your 4M profit on day 1. On that day, you can buy 4M worth of infra, which will give you 30 days of extra income. Then of course there is also the changing tech price: more and more 3M/50T deals are becoming the standard. That tech/$ rate would paint a whole different picture than the above.

16.
There is also an additional economic penalty on top of the population happiness penalty if your nation is in peace mode for more than 5 days.
What is this 'additional economic penalty'?
17. 'peace mode is a tactic' is a silly statement, unless that peace mode is used to rebuild and attack again. If not, peace mode = pixel saving. You should make up your mind: Either go in peace mode and accept peace, or, Don't want peace and go in war mode. Editted to add: I admire people like Matt Miller, for not minding the beating he t(ook/akes) in the Karma war and now again, while his whole alliance hides in peace mode.
18.
How can you pinpoint the exact coords? I tried to get as close as I could watching those pictures but it only got me 93% efficiency.
Check out Rich333's post on page 3 of this thread.
19. I'll send 2 batches of 50T for ONLY 275 MILLION!!! Just kidding Jimbo 2552. You should ask 3M and offer 100T if you want a quick deal, or 50T if you're prepared to wait a little longer for some extra income.
20. Congrats Qaianna Congrats Dementual, consider that nuke I'll launch to be a celebration firework.
21. I've been doing it since june 2008, first every 18 days, now every 20 days. If you're doing it on your own, it is easy to set up, and after the 5th or so swap, you go organise a swap from full bills/infra resources to AP + some citizen increasers in 5 to 10 minutes (once every 20 days). The extra buying power you get is enormous, your NS growth rate can be 1.6 times that of another nation (If you're not as lazy as me and buy tech every 10 days). You don't need extra trade circles/partners if you're doing it on your own. You only need them once every 20 days. Since it is far too complicated to explain them when they have to trade with you and when with their circle (and they don't make any extra money), they won't/forget to do what you want. Better idea is to go to resource finder, click your team color and start messaging 10 nations with NS below 5000, an open trade slot and the resources you want, promising 1M for the first to react with a trade invitation. Most likely, you have all you want the same day. In these 18 months, only once I had to look for a gems/gold trade in another colour. It'll cost a couple of millions, but you make 2...3 M/day extra, so why not spread the wealth. If you want more complete/detailed instructions, feel free to PM me.
22. To newbie myself: "To my past me: believe me, don't pay any attention to those that tell you to get in a stable trade circle, it'll damage your growth. Start swapping resources: from all infra/bills to AP, right from the beginning. War chests are worth the trouble"
