Do we want to talk of when you have a pending incoming tech aid but the sending nation has yet to replenish it, and you get a message recommending you to cancel the offer? Everyone by now should know that you just wait for the next time, and years ago I have suggested to update the text, to no avail. It's not that people just passively accept stuff, it's that questioning it is futile.

I don't know about the specifics of this case, but in general bear in mind that your enemy is never required to provide you with anything you wish for, nor you should expect it. If I was your enemy and I could deny you hitting any goal of yours I would totally consider it.

I'll add: if the system automatically set bills at 20 days when returning from inactivity, a nation months behind could exploit it to basically reset their bills at no cost. Now that I think of it, having the system do exactly this when the nation has been inactive for really a long time (say, six months, one year, or...) could actually make sense to encourage old players to come back to the game. (Assuming that them old players coming back does make sense...)

The GPA won't do anything anymore, it's dead and boring as it can get. Judging one's (anyone's) opinion based on who (you think) they are, not on its merit, is downright stupid. And I mean it as a mere description, not as an insult. Incidentally, I think I still remember a couple of things about war, reps etc. The intent of inflicting some punishment as a deterrent against future transgressions - because consequences etc - is totally kosher in my book. My apologies for having misunderstood, then.

That's obvious. Reparations don't match damage taken since when? 2007? 2006? Damage should be expected when going to war (or switching to War Mode). Non-deterrent "reparations" are more Bonus Tech than actual reparations. Consider them that way and you might get my point.

In abstract and general terms, reparations as a deterrent against future transgressions might still make some sense even now in 2021. Reparations for profit, on the other hand, are an embarrassment. Congrats on Peace nonetheless!

It's diminishing returns. Infra provides linear income (double the infra, double the income, roughly) but it has ever increasing maintenance (upkeep) costs. At some point (depending on resources, wonders, improvements...) the upkeep of the next infra unit becomes greater than the income it provides. AFAIK all of this has been basic knowledge since circa 2006, TBQH.

At a quick look, too much infrastructure. Infra knowingly has diminishing returns, which at some point become negative, that's most probably your case. Sell off your infra and you'll start making profits again.

I know you only from your forum posts, and not even all of them, that might explain why I'm mildly surprised to see you adopt this tougher than you attitude. In your case it looks out of character. (This is just to gently poke you, to offer an occasion to explain and just out of curiosity. Totally feel free to do anything you want with it, or nothing at all.)

By now the GPA is above and beyond everything, it's metaphysics, inescapable material. As such it can't be turned into the Grey Council and, at the same time, it's already the Grey Council. NG is the aggressive neutral in my book, but the concept of joining implies the one of moving, which is intrinsically waaaaay too much effort for this old fool. I would anyway accept the title of honorary member, at the condition that I am not expected to do anything (not even remember about it).
