Whenever I see words from the source of "kingzog", there's something appetizing about making a response. His thoughts are a fruit ripe on the vine, yearning for juicy reviews to be made in the form of a bite. There is nothing about this fruit that is hard to digest. Like a red sun-baked strawberry, anything "kingzog" provides worthy of resisting the tooth is so small that it would be swallowed. Anything resembling a challenging idea is stuck in a seed of inferior scale. The rest is fleshy and sweet to the maw. --- I want to reply to these vulnerable ramblings... I was sent into anarchy and left basically troopless, so I used my only two nuclear weapons to retaliate (before Manhattan Projects existed... Purchased within the top 5%). My alliance was not in a position to protect me. NpO declared me a nuclear-rogue and I was ZI'd by Polar and Pacific nations with their typical battle-cries and taunts about patriotism in their war descriptions. Their originality lessened as my nation fell lower in the ranks. How did this all happen? I had received threatening message while in peace-mode, and so alerted the leader before I left peace mode that if something did happen, I would be replying to an attacker with all means available, which now included nuclear weapons. Instead of heeding this, he ordered members in my range to monitor me and attack me as soon as I came out of peace mode... to set me up for character-assassination, nation-assassination. That is, and has always been, Polar.

My nation has always been pretty land-rich, and I started buying as many spies as I could afford when I saw they had no upkeep, so I guess I've never seen odds less than 50%!

I don't think the Operation Odds will show you less than 50% success. The idea is, if it's less than 50%, then their spies are good enough to keep you from knowing exactly how secure they are. So, it's likely that the target matches your larger friend.
