1. Two questions:

    Can we start trading?

Is anyone else willing to replace Lumber with, say, Cattle or Pigs? The additional citizens would offset the loss of Scholars, and the only real downside would be the loss of the infra cost reduction with Lumber. However, with the rarity of Lumber, and the amount of time it will probably take us to find a Lumber/Wine nation willing to join, it could be worth it just to complete the circle with a Cattle/Wine or Pigs/Wine nation.

You might want to try and recruit this guy as well, he just recently sent me a trade request and might be willing to join: Aquamark

  3. You know, in reality this is a very ballsy move for Polaris, politically. By seeking to tie themselves to a stable bloc connection, they chose to go towards XX, in which they had very little friendship established, forgoing a more traditional approach of working towards relations with ex-Hegemony. Considering their last treaty fiasco, Legion, I would say that this is a step forward towards Polaris putting itself in a survivable position. They do have a pretty horrid reputation at the moment, and that is of course why you are seeing Spartans and Harmless and R&Rer's in here stressing the "Optional" part of this whole mess, because in reality FARK is telling them, "Hey, I know Polar isn't our first choice of a viable ally, but we should give them a chance, you know, get to know them, maybe we'll PIAT or ODP them or something and just talk to them for a while."

It will be interesting to see how Mergerberger and RandomInterrupt, Carfre Inpor and the rest of the gang play their cards here. Who knows what'll happen, they might even pull it off. (Doubtful)

I have used this setup for years. Maximum money, maximum citizens, nukes, with the downfall being no cost deductions. If you want, you can temp trade for infra cost reducing resources when you have to jump. Personally, I don't, isn't worth the hassle, but hey, to each his own.

If you are interested, post and I will add you. The Last Remnants members, and members of Allied Alliances, will receive priority placement.
