  1. the reason why i think good events arent reported is because they have little effect. if things continue this way, youll get the reports of good events, since theyre so seemingly rare that its a relief to get a very minimal good event than your typical super bad event. I only have 2 bad events, yet it puts me at -$8.00 PLEASE SAVE US ADMIN!
  2. think about it this way. given your current improvements, you can take out your 5 LCs and switch them for 5 churchs. With LCs being -1 happiness each, and churchs being +1 happiness, the opportunity cost is a total swing of 10 happiness, or $41.52 of income (given perfect environment). So every day you don't labor swap, not only are you losing out on the 50% infra upkeep cost discount, you're also losing out on an additional $41.52 per citizen of additional income.
  3. considering that most nation who buy tech save SIGNIFICANTLY more than the sellers profit, i dont see why there would be an issue of the price of tech going up. even if the price of tech doubles, or even triples, its still a buyers market by a long shot.
  4. so how is +1 happiness affected by environment? from what i understand, environment affects your happiness. but, the way i see it, an event that boosts happiness is independent of the environment.
  5. Just curious... how is +$2 income affected by the environment changes?
  6. I don't think one can say that there is any single best pattern to purchasing improvements. It all depends, mostly. Plus, you have the FM way down there. Usually, if you start purchasing improvements, you're focusing more on growth. Tech deals give you a huge boost in that, and Id say a FM is almost necessary to maximize growth from the extra cash in tech deals. That, and I don't think I'd ever permanently purchase LCs. Improvement Swapping ftw.
  7. should you buy superwonders earlier if you have the cash for it? also, which wonders classify as superwonders? I thought you should choose wonders based on their benefit, with the +5/+$10 wonders being the most beneficial?
  8. I asked a similar question about a month ago... I know the search function isn't working, and it was 3-4 pages back. When do I start buying tech in tech trades? From what I gathered, the 4K infra jump appears to be the most ideal. At that point, the money you save on bills due to more tech is greater than the profit you would receive from selling tech. The best way to 'graduate' is to start at 0 tech then buy 5 batches of 50 tech and send them to trusted nations for them to hold on to. Then buy another 50 tech for yourself. When you're ready to graduate, ask for all 250 tech back at once. When it's all said and done, you will start off buying tech, with 300 tech in your pocket, and you paid 6*50 tech as opposed to the increasing price of tech up to 300 tech.* *Kudos to Blacky on this advice
  9. is it ever TOO early to start buying wonders? I'm currently at 3770 infra, and I'll soon have enough money saved to buy the SM.
  10. What's the environment bonus for maintaining that ratio?
  11. You guys have conflicting ratios. Can anyone confirm which 2:1 ration is better, land:infra or infra:land (although the latter makes more sense), if this is even true at all?
  12. sorry... i should have scratched out this post, but since no one was signing up i thought it would be ignored. as bignastypsu says, i am no longer trying to put this trade circle together.
  13. ahhh total n00bed right there. i just sent 50 tech and forgot to replace it. thanks for the help. eeesh. embarassing.
  14. unless i missed something, i doubt that. i checked my resources, and they all match up. Double checked with MFOs resource calculator to confirm. Also checked sent messages, and my trade cancellation notification went to this recent guy, the one who isnt my trade circle.
  15. I don't know why it's acting up, and hopefully you can see it too... I've had my current trade setup for an average of 2 months. Today I get offered a trade and I cancel, maintaining my current trade setup. I check my Bonus Resources, and instead of 7, I have 2... what gives? It's a bit of an inconvenient time, given that I was on the verge of an improvement swap and going to buy a huge chunk of infra. Brokeback Nation - Doe they still count and not show up? - Or do they not count, so I have to talk to admin about this? Thanks in advance for your help!
  16. I'm setting up a trade circle for fellow-alliance mates. This trade circle yields 5 bonus resources: Asphalt, Automobiles, Beer, Construction, and Steel. RESOURCE LIST: Aluminum: BigNastyPSU Cattle: Coal: Fish: Iron: Lumber: Marble: Oil: Rubber: Water: Wheat: Uranium: BigNastyPSU Initial infrastructure cost: -42% Infrastructure upkeep: -26% Population increase: 21% Population happiness increase: 9 Initial land cost: -25% Purchased land area increase: 40% Environment increase: 10% Soldier increase: 38% Soldier cost decrease: $-6 Tank cost decrease: -5% Tank upkeep cost: -5% Aircraft cost decrease: -16% Uranium allows nations to develop nuclear weapons only if that nations government preference supports nuclear weapons. If a nations government preference favors nuclear technology for the use of nuclear power plants but does not support nuclear weapons then the nation will receive +$3.00 per citizen and +$0.15 for every level of tech purchased up to level 30 but loses -1 population happienss. If a nation owns nuclear weapons but does not have uranium the cost to maintain nukes is doubled. We're looking for green team to maximize the happiness bonus, including anyone willing to switch. We're looking for nations who are interested in doing this for the long term. Thanks! I am no longer trying to set up this circle.
  17. thanks for all your input! and blacky, thanks for the 50-tech aid tip... friggin genius. i wouldnt have thought of that. just curious, why around 4K infra? is that based on the amt you collect on taxes?
  18. Hi, I tried searching the forums to no avail. I was trying to figure at approximately what tech level should i start purchasing tech through trade instead of purchasing it out on my own. The CN FAQ wasn't too descriptive on the price of tech. And the CN guide stickied on this forum gave a rough estimate, but I'm sure it also depends on your tech discounts. Plus I wanted to know why they say at ~150 tech. So I used MrFixItOnline's tech calculator to figure out the formula. For the most part, I noticed that the price of tech went up $1K every level (eg, going from 33 tech to 34 tech), but there are certain thresholds where it makes a noticeable price jump (from what i figured out so far, at levels {5, 10, 15, 30, 50, 75, 100, 150, etc}. Since there doesn't seem to be a pattern to them, does anyone know where I can find these tech jumps? I guess it's just as helpful to tell me at what tech level I should start purchasing tech through tech deals, but it's nice to know the math behind the number. I know it may depend on what resources and improvements I have... I think I have all the tech discounters: gold, microchips, and 2 universities (making my tech cost 69.92% of the original cost). Thanks for the help in advance.
  19. Are you saying its a lot of money a 3K infra nation can use, or its a large cost for a 3K infra nation?
  20. sure thing. this 3x3 will happen on the 17th, when all the sellers slots are clear. please have your slots clear by then. i will PM everyone over the weekend. EDIT: eagle, i take it your nation name is eagle, ruler name is squirtlem?
  21. sorry this circle has been completed. i got PM from other nations earlier today. sorry about that.
