She married me and her nation subsequently merged into Fuland. She now lives in the capital of Fuland with me and my other wives. I apologize to all those of you out there whose hearts she broke with this choice. She couldn't resist the fro. I'd advise you all grow one if you hope to compete with me in the future. (OOC: She's starting over with a new identity outside the GPA to try something new for a while - We'll miss her dearly... but we won't stop believing.)

Hey Val - long time old friend. I'm sure that the two of you must have had a misunderstanding on the issue. I say this as a friend to both of you. I can guarantee you Prob is a person of outstanding character and would never intentionally screw anybody over in terms of anything, yet alone a tech deal. I trust him greatly and I'd put my reputation on the line for him anytime. He'll be a fantastic MoE for us. I know you to be a person of great character in your tech dealing as well (You were one of my stable tech-sellers back in the day after all ), so I'm sure it was nothing more than a miscommunication. If you still have an issue with whatever happened, you are welcome to come over to the GPA forums, and we'll try and discover what went wrong and mend any error if it exists. Originally joined the GPA on June 28, 2006. It has been and will be my only alliance. I did take a couple short breaks for RL purposes, but rejoined the GPA immediately upon rejoining the game.

Your first error is to use the term "affiliate member". GPA affiliates are not GPA members. They never have been. Affiliate status has always been and was always intended to be a probationary period for incoming applicants during which we could review their history and check backgrounds before accepting them as trainees. Affiliates may or may not be offered protection, depending on their situation. When we discovered Lord Swampy was on ZI lists, he was removed from affiliate status, serving perfectly the purpose of the affiliate status. He was never a member and there was no error involved in that scenario, at least not on our part. I will not say we have not made errors, because we obviously did make some. The error you mentioned though, was, and is still, nonexistent.

I personally think the better way of fixing the problem would be something that was suggested a LONG LONG time ago, by multiple people; a way to lock people from claiming any AA they want. For alliances over 100 members, they should be allowed a password known only by the mod team that locks their AA, and people can only claim the AA if they have the password. There may be better ways of doing this than a password, but I think it would be nice to finally be done with ghosts altogether. The password-based AA's is my personal thought, but I'm sure it could be somewhat annoying to implement. Either way, I think changing the sanction requirements wouldn't solve the problem so much as attacking the problem itself (people ghosting AA's they don't belong under).

Sad to hear that Magoo deleted. He was a great guy and good member (Ex-GPA). Had one hell of a nation as well. Great economic mind.

We ended up deciding to leave a half day earlier and I made it home in time to collect before update, so the problem doesn't exist any longer. Thanks to those who gave some answers and tried to help.

Hey, I'm on vacation right now and forgot to collect my taxes before leaving. I'm up to 17 days or so and won't be back to my normal computer in time for the 20th day. If I log on from the wifi at my hotel, will I be risking deletion, or can I do it without a problem? I tried looking up the answer to this question but couldn't find clarification on such a situation. Obviously if I am risking deletion by logging in from here, I'd rather try to find an alliance mate to nation sit and collect taxes for me, but I figured I'd check here in case I can't find someone to do that. So yeah, is it safe for me to collect taxes real quick from this hotel or should I find an alternative solution?
