A Trip to Jubilife

The Prime Minister's plane was immediately intercepted and escorted by the 14[sup]th[/sup] Jubilife-Mistissini Defencive Squadron as it entered Disparuean airspace. This was done for both ceremonial and practical reasons; it was a show of Disparu's military might, which the Disparuean Forces was more willing to show after the Allied victory in James Bay. It was also tasked to protect the Idahoan plane from enemy aircraft; the Government was not willing to take chances on the delegation's security. The squadron continued to escort the plane as they approached Jubilife's Darach International Airport - from there they would disperse and return to their base.

As the plane came to a full stop, it would be guided to an area specially prepared for the delegation. As officers of the Judicial Police took their places near the airplane, a ladder would be slowly brought up towards it. The Disparuean delegation itself would await their Idahoan counterparts not far away.

The Prime Minister would be immediately ushered into a limousine that would take him to the Centre for Foreign Affairs. As its name implies, it is the headquarters of the Disparuean Foreign Ministry. The building's atrium, composed of an egg-shaped glass building in front of a massive reflecting pool, would absolutely magnificent as the Prime Minister's limo approached it.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs herself, as well as a plethora of other officials, would be waiting for him inside.

The Prime Minister arrived at the Centre for Foriegn Affairs and walked briskly with his guard and other diplomatic detail into the building. Kirby was a tall strong fellow, the All Idahoan Boy Stereotype that the little ones wanted to be like when they grew up, Tall and Strong and sharp as a whip. Greeting the Disparuean Officials and bowing gentlemanly to the Foreign Minister, Moore asked where he could find a safe place to conduct the negotiations.

Minister Meridian was rather surprised by the Prime Minister's briefness and unwillingness to exchange pleasantries, but nevertheless she would entertain Kirby's request by ushering the delegation to one of the Centre's spacious conference rooms. The room they were in was aesthetically pleasing and felt welcoming. Meridian would offer the Prime Minister a drink before beginning the talks.

"Now, Mr. Prime Minister, what exactly would you want to come out of this meeting?" asked Meridian as she skimmed through the papers in front of her. The other Disparuean officials in the room, which included Chancellor Atkin himself, remained silent.

Aware at the sleight that he may have unfortunately offered to Minister Meridian, Prime Minister Moore pulled her aside for a moment as the officials were being lead into the conference room and deeply apologized to the leader. Pulling a large Diamond Brooch from his pocket he handed it to her as a diplomatic apology for his transgression.
"This Diamond Brooch has been in my family for generations... I wish you to have it as a token of friendship between us and our people"
After that little moment the Prime Minister walked back into the room and addressed the assembled delegates. "The United Kingdom of Idaho and Montana wishes to have an ally amidst these troubling times on the North American continent, we seek an Optional Defence Pact between our peoples in order to cement a relationship which would grow fruit someday and blossom into a Mutual Defence Pact or otherwise agreed upon treaty. The Prime minister took a sip out of his glass and swirled it around in his glass appreciatively, thoroughly enjoying the drink, He then sat and waited to hear Minister Meridian's proposals.

Meridian, of course, politely refused the Prime Minister's gift. "Well, um, while I appreciate your gesture, Mr. Prime Minister, I'm afraid I'll have to decline it." she said, returning the brooch to him. "It's really beautiful, but it happens to be your family heirloom, and I can't be too selfish. I'm really sorry..."

At the meeting itself, it was Chancellor Atkin who responded to the Idahoan Prime Minister rather than the Foreign Minister. "These are, indeed, troubling times for North America, my friend. Imperialists are rising to fill the security void left by the former Tahoe Republic, various wars have risen to fight the status quo, nations are backstabbed by people who they thought were friends and allies...these are indeed troubling times."

He paused for a bit to let his statement sink in. "And, during these tough times, Disparu has slowly learned to accept what it has been blissfully ignoring for the past few months—no one can be trusted, as they can throw you aside in an instant to further their own goals. It has taught us to be meticulous when it comes to friends, and to not get itself involved in one too many conflicts." The Chancellor sighed. "My friend, while my ideal vision of North America would be a peaceful and cooperative one, I'm afraid that this is not the case in the continent we currently live in. One must maintain close ties, and remain, within a certain geopolitical location to achieve stability when it comes to foreign affairs—stretching yourself too thin will cause a lot of headaches in the future."

"Therefore, with that said, the Federation is currently limiting its military obligations to nations within its sphere of influence. I hope you can understand—it would be extremely difficult to fulfill such obligations if we were separated by many nations, any of which could launch a blockade against us. Therefore, I believe it would be in our best interest to maintain a non-aggression pact, and perhaps an agreement to lower tariffs, until the current situation in North America stabilizes and we get a sense of who will be controlling what. From there, we will be able to develop our relations into the future—we may even have a MDoAP someday. What do you think, Mr. Prime Minister?"

We agree to this idea of yours Mr. Chancellor, While the United Kingdom of Idaho and Montana is distressed that a more solid military agreement could not be reached at this time we would be happy to accept the offer of a Non Aggression Pact and Free Trade Agreement. We wish to inform Disparu however that we hope to someday indeed grow to be MDP or MDoAP partners.

OOC: I just woke up, am quite sleepy no hard questions please
IC:I wish to know dear sir, Do You like Us? Would you support us, or is this just the Disparuean Hospitality that my people have heard so much about? My people are strong and sturdy folk who will support you to the last man woman and child, I know this because I would do so myself. My question once again, would you do so for us in the UKIM?

The Chancellor paused for a bit as he thought of an answer.

"My friend, I'm going to be honest with you. I personally do not like the fact that you had announced your intent to remain neutral in the recent war between the US and Pravus Ingruo, before promptly reversing your decision and allowing the Pravus Ingruians to use your nation as a springboard against the United States. This is not a matter of loyalty; this is about remaining true to your word. I'm afraid the UKIM may have stained their reputation when that happened."

Soon, Minister Meridian would finish writing the treaty itself, and presented it to the Prime Minister.

"My Friend, that policy in question was enacted at a time when we felt that the war was a noble and just one. However, soon we realized that the motives of Pravus Ingruo and J Andres were not as noble as once thought. Therefore, we changed our position on the matter. Has your nation ever for example done research on an item of what you felt was of importance and then abandoned it because you realize that the research would not be as helpful as originally thought, that it would not be a "Cure-all." That is the situation we were under, We are sorry for how our actions have hurt the world, we were just a lost and confused nation on how to handle the matter. We held and hold no qualms with the United States yet at the same time we felt our friendship with J Andres was stronger then our relationship with the United States because of our obvious bond under the Kenhnedy Doctrine."

Signed for the UKIM-

Monarch of the Kingdom

Kirby Moore P.M.
Prime Minister of the Kingdom

OOC: I was incorrect about the Pravus bit, it never came up until today to correct my misinterpretation.

"That's completely understandable, my friend. Believe it or not, Disparu has found itself in similar situations just a few months ago." The Chancellor chuckled as he, along with Minister Meridian, signed the treaty.

"Now then, would you like to discuss anything else before we adjourn our meeting?"

"I'm certain that Disparuean companies will be able to supply materials for such a wall at a reduced cost. However, in my experience, a reactionary action such as this is usually unhelpful in the long run. I recommend starting talks with your fellow neighbours and discuss the future of the Prairie Republic until you reach a compromise about it."
