Arctica-Furon Economic and Friendship Treaty

Preface

In the interests of peace, mutual benefit, and international cooperation, the nations of Arctica and Furon hereby agree to the following.

Article I: Open Waters

Furon will allow Arctican trade vessels free passage through the Tsugaru Strait.

Article II: Economic Agreement

Each party will adjust its tariffs favorably to the other party.

Article III: Friendship

A. There will be freedom of travel between Arctica and Furon except in times of war or heightened security alert conditions.

B. Each nation agrees to host exchange students from the other nation at the secondary and postsecondary levels, except in times of war or heightened security alert conditions.

C. Each nation agrees to extradite known and/or wanted criminals from the other nation upon formal request.

D. This article may be cancelled without cancelling the treaty.

Article IV: Nonaggression

Arctica and Furon will make no acts or overtures or war against one another, whether overt or covert, as long as this treaty is in effect.

Article V: Optional Defense

If one signatory is the victim of an aggressive act of war by a foreign government, this treaty provides a valid casus belli for the other signatory.

Article VI: Cancellation

A. The cancellation of this treaty will take effect 96 hours after a legimitate governing body of either signatory informs the other signatory of its intent to cancel. All articles of the treaty will thenceforth be null and void.

B. The immediate cancellation of this treaty will take effect in the event that any article is violated. All articles of the treaty will thenceforth be null and void.
