DOC - NEAT ODP

Preamble

The membership of Nations Empowered Against Totalitarianism (NEAT) and the Democratic Open Community (DOC) hereby agree to further their relationship through an optional defense pact.

Article 1: Non Aggression

All forms of in game conflict between NEAT and DOC are to be deemed illegal.  This includes aiding nations/alliances currently in a state of conflict with either signatory, the use of spies against NEAT/DOC by the opposite signatory, and war declarations against nations of NEAT/DOC by the opposite signatory.   Should a member of either alliance act against the terms of this article the member should cease hostilities and, if judged necessary, reparations are to be paid to the extent of the damages caused.

Article 2: Respect

NEAT and DOC both hold the input of each individual member of their respectful alliance in high regards, for this reason we also welcome helpful discussion between each others members, however any discussions between either alliance in the Open World Forums are encouraged to be kept respectful and it is highly preferably that any disagreement are to be handled in private.

Article 3: Communication and Information

Both NEAT and DOC agree to keep active lines of communication open to the other. Diplomats are expected to sign on the other alliance forums, where they will be treated with the same respect as the alliances members treat each other.  In the same way, should either signatory come into possession of informations regarding the other alliance security, the information should be shared with the other alliance via private channels.

Article 4: Optional Defense

NEAT and DOC agree to stand by each other in times of war and peace. During wartime either alliance may assist or request assistance from the other by economic, diplomatic or military means, but this is not mandatory and is not expected to be treated as such.  Both alliances are also encouraged to give post war aid regardless of whether the opposite alliance chose to activate this treaty during wartime.

Article 5: Termination

Either party may choose to terminate this treaty at any time. Both parties have 3 days (72 hours) after the declaration of either party's desire for the treaty's cancellation before this treaty will cease to be in effect. All terms within will continue up until that deadline.
