Statement from the Reich Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Communism

I will not say that I am someone who is against Communism, nor does Nordland take the official stance of being something that is against it as a theory and a policy. I have indeed read the writings of the man Karl Marx, and his teachings, theories, and prophecies have influenced my thoughts and the policies that Wästerdyskreich and the Nordland take with our current government and ideal of Nordic Socialism, an idea originally published by a man named Winston Smith in a book entitled The Theory and Practice of Oligarchical Collectivism many years ago.

Through the writings of Karl Marx and Winston Smith we have developed something of a medley of both of these systems, a policy which we have entitled Nordic Socialism in the English language, and originally Norden Sozialachen in the Nordlandic language. This policy is a rational mixture of many different governmental theories of how to run a nation, taking the best and most functional, as well as that which can function the best with the other parts of Nordsoc, and making them one with each other, creating a Nordland where the people are quite happy with their current state of affairs.

However, in recent months and years we of the Nordland especially have had a major force breathing down our necks, and that force was known as the Communist International, a group of Communist nations whose purpose was stated as ensuring the spread of Rational Communism around the world and continuing their glorious revolution all over the world. While this sort of cause is not something that I or the Nordland find objectionable or even ill-founded, in fact it seems like a rational thought produced by rational people, the Communist International or ComIntern evolved into a bloc specifically designed to oppose the old Nordlandic Confederacy and most recently the Greater Nordlandic Reich. It began to accept nations into its ranks who were not even Communist or Rational Communist, these were nations who merely wanted to oppose the Nordland in some way, as they felt the Nordland had wronged them for whatever reason and in whatever way.

These nations would put in quick and drastic changed into their nation and their governmental policies, creating an unstable state wherein the only thing binding the people together was the extremist hatred of our nation. Because of the extremely negative light in which their governments portrayed our nation, they were given the ability to do whatever it was that they wanted to with the status of their domestic policies, put in any policy, and enact any radical, failing system, all for the purpose of being involved in a large bloc which had become something made specifically to oppose the Nordland. As the people suffered at the hands of the absolutist, desperate government, those in charge remained steadfast in their quest to ignore their people in a desperate search for some way to get back at the Nordland.

However as has become obvious in recent days, this failing structure and arrogant coordination of policies, as well as the complete disregard for the actual beliefs of people and of the government officers themselves, has caused the collapse and subsequent destruction of the bloc known as the ComIntern. Communist Internaitonal has officially disbanded with the cessation of existence of the state of Canada, proving to us and to the world as a whole that there was no true unity between these nations, they simply crowded behind the biggest opposition that the Nordland faced, the resilient nation of Canada.

It is due to this destruction of the bloc of Communist International, the destruction of the most hypocritical, ill-mannered, poorly coordinated, mismanaged, desperate, powerful opposition that the Nordland has ever had, that the Nordland does hereby declare itself victorious in this bloodless war of international affairs and influence in the world as a whole. Here we arrive at today, where the nation of Nordland stands powerful and stronger than ever, its allies more tightly bound to it than ever before seen, its allies more powerful than they have ever been, and the coalition of the most like-minded nations in the entire world remains strong and firm while the opposition has collapsed, a fate which all of the people of the world saw as inevitable as of a very short time ago. The Communist International Group has officially disbanded, leaving the Nordland and her allies victorious as the righteous nation, for the policies and ideals of righteousness always have and always will prevail, and so long as that law is true, the Nordland shall exist.

The Greater Nordlandic Reich has existed for a short time, but in this time, the states that make up Greater Nordland have become closer and more willing to share with one another than they ever were before, establishing a nation built not only on power, but on trust and brotherhood. The Nordland has come together, and near all Nordic peoples in this world have become united under the Nordlandic banner of victory and peace, and the Greater Nordlandic Reich shall not only stand tomorrow, the next day, or next year. The Greater Nordlandic Reich shall stand supreme in these lands for a thousand years.

It didn't help that the leadership of the former bloc began to ignore the will of its constituents and that an east/west rift began to tear it apart. We congratulate Nordland on its win as it became apparent that Comintern was willing to stand against anyone that was beginning to achieve any real semblance of unity or power, even its own.. and would meddle in regional affairs of its member states even where many members had no interest. Its time came much quicker than it could for a unified state such as Nordland. The Dragon Empire recognizes the value in unity, something Nordland has.. of a different variety, but that force is still there and we congratulate it on working effectively to achieve consensus among its members.

OOC: Yay, propaganda...Though I do agree with the part about them "hiding" behind me and the ComIntern turning into an anti-nordic bloc. Neither of these things were intended when I made it.

"That tends to be true, but what this hasn't explored is socialism, which is hybrid systems, when they interact with truly benevolent states which have a meritocratic structure and are focused around the concept of community. In the Dragon Empire, Socialism is embodied by the community's commitment to church and charity working through the state. We help the weakest and raise them up.. helping them subsist at the basic level, while allowing everything else to be determined by the free market. Hybrid states are the best concept ever envisioned.. because the truly creative do reap the benefits of their talent.. but those whom were not blessed with the best of skills or talents are helped to achieve greatness also. There is no harm.. when your economy is putting out trillions of dollars a year, in making sure everyone is well fed, warmly clothed, has a home, and has access to the tools they need to improve their lives in the form of education. The most productive of society can surely shoulder that burden without even sneezing at the loss. In doing so, the demand for their product is sustained and so is their profitability for the talents they have granted to the community."
