MAD members split from Echelon

Some months ago we at the alliance Mutually Assured Defense merged with Echelon. There we found a strong, stable home, where we prospered. However since that merger Echelon has gone down a path that some of us are no longer comfortable following. There comes a time when a man has to get out of his lawn chair, put down his spongiform hotdog and cry out against injustice, rather than accept the status quo. The actions of the New Pacific Order this day are unconscionable and there are those of us who will not accept them.

Although our friends at Echelon have treated us with kindness and we wish them well, we cannot support any defense they give to NPO or their allies.

At this time only a fraction of the former nations of MAD are making this move, but those that are extend an invitation to any who would follow to join us. To war! Vereor Papilla!

EDIT:

I want to note that we talked about this with the GR leadership before the war started and before Echelon jumped in. I spoke to Echelon leadership yesterday back when they canceled their treaty with NPO and declared de facto neutrality in this war. That between that discussion and this announcement they have decided to change their foreign policy 180 degrees is unfortunate, but not my fault.

Further EDIT:

Removed any mention of GR, since there was some confusion about joining them. They never okayed it. Oops.

Echelon had the balls. You're just alliance deserters and should get what is coming to them.

EDIT: If your alliance is currently at a war you stay there no matter what. Loyalty or no loyalty you stay and fight. Grow a pair and leave after the war. Why leave now? You should have been under the impression that they would fight with NPO for a week now. I'd be sad to see GR accept you.

Not only that but would make your reformation much easier and place you in a strong position in the cyberverse if you could have made the claim you fought with honor against what looks like hopeless odds.

Kiss that feather in your FA cap good bye.

Fight the good fight. Win or lose. You knew who your allies were coming into this war and you had ample opportunity to back out. This goes to whole alliances in that general direction as well.

At this point you're nothing but deserters.

Seems like that time is when you're about to be attacked o'clock. Please do not preach about your values when they only surface under threat of military force, it is obvious from the timing of this that you only care about injustice when your own pixels are endangered, it is false, shallow and see-through, do not insult the community's intelligence by expecting us to swallow such garbage.

No reasonable alliance member would reclaim their former sovereignty to protect their pixels. This is worse than cancelling a treaty. It's disloyalty of the highest order. Echelon should declare upon you for spying and undermining their legitimate AA.

Shame, shame, shame.
