Problem with taking the top 3 from each category is you might get 2-3 people/alliances from one group that would lose to people/alliances that got 4th/5th in the other group.

He could take the top three from the two polls on one category and start another poll with them or something along those lines. I think that's actually what had to be done last year.

Indeed, it isn't perfect and that's definitely one flaw. But I think it's the best option with the poll restrictions as they are.

@Nintenderek: That's exactly what I was thinking of doing actually. But Drai's concern still holds up: someone could place 4th in the first half of the category when they would've placed in the top 3 if they had been in the second half. Still, I think it's the best option.

I'd say do it anyways, I mean it's a 99%+ chance that the winner will be the same as a poll where you could list all options. The only scenario the winner would be different is maybe if everybody who voted for the top 3 in the "easier" group would have voted for the 4th place in the "harder group" had they been in the finals. But I mean, it's the same people voting in both polls so that's not really possible at the same time either.

The only realistic problem is that an alliance might like to know if they're 4th, 5th, etc overall and not make it to the finals because they were in a harder group. Again though, given the options this is a minimal issue.

For reference, The proper spelling of iFOK is 'small i, Capital F, Capital O, Capital K,' so, 'iFOK', not 'iFoK'

Just so when we win, the trophies arent engraved wrong :)

Fixed :)

And Updated.

Edit: Also, I'm in the middle of that giant snowstorm hitting the east coast and I've lost power/internet a few times. I'm supposed to close this tomorrow and post the prelim voting threads, but if I don't it's because I can't get online. Just a heads up.

Nominations are now closed. I'll have the preliminary round voting threads up in the next 6 hours. Voting shall commence as follows:

Preliminary Round of Voting (Voting starting sometime in the next 6 hours and ending at 6pm on December 28th EST)

Categories with 3 or less nominations have no preliminary voting round and all nominations move onto the final round of voting.

Categories with more than 3 but less than 7 nominations have the top 3 move onto the final round of voting.

Categories with between 7 and 25 (inclusive) nominations have the top 4 move on to the final round of voting.

Categories with with greater than 25 nominations do the following:

* Category is split into two equal halves, alphabetically. These two halves are treated as separate categories for voting purposes.

* The top 3 from each of these divided categories move on to the final round. The choices are fused together in the final round, which would give 6 choices in the final round for the category

Note: If by the end of voting nominations are exactly tied for places that would normally move on to the final round, then it is possible for more than the previously mentioned number of nominations to move on. For example, for categories with less than 7 but more than three nominations, if two nominations tie for 3rd place both would move on.

Final Voting (Voting commencing within 6 hours of the end of the preliminary round of voting and ending at 6pm on January 4th EST)

Voting shall just be regular voting in thread polls. The nomination with the plurality of votes shall win the given category. If two or more nominations tie by the end of voting, they shall jointly win the category

Participating is very different from what you're doing there.

Most honorable allliance. Please... you can't even trust each other, can you?

You're making your alliance look bad.
