Carthage extends an invitation to President Beaumont to attend a meeting regarding the current New France defence crisis with Fascist Carthage military officials and President Cutlass. The talks are proposed in the hopes of striking a deal to purchase military equipment from New France, aid President Beaumont in tapping into the strong Fascist base in New France, and perhaps reach a trade deal between the nations. The meeting would take place in the Carthaginian capital, Casablanca.

With no alternative in sight, and extreme pressure from Generals who threaten to back socialist or fascist parties, the President turns to Cutlass. President Baeumont faced some opposition from his party but many understood his decision to be the parties only choice. Socialist outcry against the meeting was strong, but it was no match for the flood of Fascist support, and majority democratic support as well. President Beaumont stated, "He is one man ruling over one people. What he has acheived is what we lack, and this is why I will meet with him."

The President departed today to meet with Cutlass and Fascist Carthage military officials.

Opening Trade with Fascist Carthage

In a move seen both as a great success by many and a massive setback to others, President Beaumont has made his first large scale move since his inauguration. The Socialist base attacks the President and his administration, but with his solidified support within his own party, the military, and new found support in the Fascist Party, President Beaumont can continue comfortably with this move.

New France cargo ship carrying wheat have left our ports for the Fascist Republic of Carthage this morning carrying massive amounts of wheat to effectively bring an end to Carthaginian bread crisis. Last night loads of containers where loaded onto the ships; a military presence was rumored but this cannot be confirmed.
