OOC: Closed to myself and king of cochin

IC: King James I took a break out of his visit with the Caucasus and Liberty Guards to fly to Cochin City, along with Regent Dan Donegan. He'd sent a message ahead of him.

To the King of Cochin

In light of recent tensions between Caucasia and the Dragon Empire, I will be flying out to Cochin City to discuss our diplomatic stance now that Cochin has seceded. I will be with my Regent.

"It is good to meet you, King Varma," James said respectably.

"Hrm," Donegan grunted, looking tired.

"Now, Cochin and Caucasia have been neighbors for...about a year, I believe, since we bought the land from Grøenlandia. However, back then, there was no need for us to interact much, due to the Eurasian Pact. Then the Dragon Empire canceled the Pact, and Caucasian-Dragon relations quickly deteriorated, what with the merchant ship and giving military access to the AEF.

"However, as Cochin has regained its independence, it is time we start afresh. Set aside the hostility between our peoples, and start working anew."

"Working towards peace and stability is always in Cochin's best interests. However the history between our two nations work against a rapid friendliness between our two nations. However the first steps towards such a lasting friendship must be made and Cochin would definitely reciprocate. What do you propose, King James?"

"A defensive pact is out of the question right now. I doubt the people of Cochin and the Caucasians would like that right now. However, a Non-Aggression Pact, with a possible free trade agreement, is a good place to start."

Rama Varma thought about that and replied, "A NAP and Free Trade Treaty would be ideal in the present circumstance. Would you have a draft proposal?"

"I believe so," James replied, dropping his briefcase on the table. He flipped it open and withdrew a few papers. He shuffled through them, dropped a couple, and handed one to Varma. "That should cover it."

Preamble

The undersigned nations, the Kingdom of Cochin and the Kingdom of Caucasia, do hereby enter into a pact of non-aggression.

Caucasia and Cochin hereby agree to non-aggression. Neither nation shall engage or assist in acts of war against the other, be they covert or military.

James took a pen and signed his name as well, then handed it to Donegan, who gave his slightly untidy signature.
