The Road Ahead

So the Karma War is apparently close to a close. Global radiation is now dropping. The prisoners of war have been released. Combat is now at a low. so everyone's wondering...what next?

What will happen to NPO? TPF? Echelon? Avalon? 64Digits?

How harsh will reps be?

What alliances will emerge supreme?

What's the next superbloc?

What will happen to FAN?

Well, here's my opinion.

TPF: The Phoenix has gained respect for standing their ground against adversity, pledging to fight as long as Pacifica. When the war ends, I believe TPF will have a lukewarm welcome. Sure, everyone admires them for their honor, but they won't forget that TPF is a die hard Hegemony alliance. I think they'll have to repair their reputation, like NpO did around the time of the War of the Coalition, but to a greater extent. I think they will maintain their treaty with NPO.

Echelon: I don't know much about Echelon, to be honest. They're a more quiet Hegemonic alliance, but I'm impressed at their resilience. Same deal as TPF, but to a slightly lesser extent.

Avalon: Avalon's in the clear, really. They just need to exit the war.

64 Digits: They're going to go defunct. They're down to around 10 nations.

How harsh will reps be? Sadly, I think they will be minimal. Avalon might get off with white peace, and TPF and Echelon will get slap-on-the-wrist terms. NPO will get only slightly harsher terms. Why do I think this? None of the Karma leaders have the balls to stick it to NPO. They're all scared of being called hypocrites. They're worried about PR. Well, they need to remember: white peace worked so well for LUE. Honestly, I think every major alliance from the CoaLUEtion was rolled by NPO at some point, or became a Hegemonic alliance, besides LoSS. LUE and NAAC disbanded, GATO was put in a 10 month viceroyalty, GGA and ODN became Hegemonic alliances.

What alliances will emerge supreme? Tough call there. I'd say Polaris has a fine chance at it. They're one of the fastest recovering alliances in CN. Just look at how they bounced back from the last global war. And I have to consider TOP. Sparta, maybe. They're solid and they have growth potential. I also think STA and MK will be bouncing pretty high. And in about a year, I think FAN will be up there.

Next superbloc? Tough call. It's between Citadel and Superfriends for the superbloc, with the other one becoming a close second. I also think Frostbite will become a major contender later on.

What will happen to FAN? Haha, these guys have extreme potential. Their endurance in the Second VietFAN War left me and others with loads of respect for them. If they start seeking out treaties, they'll get them, assuming everyone isn't paranoid about NPO. Growth wise, these gun nuts are going to grow like hell. They're up 600,000 NS in the last month. I think FAN will have a bright future, assuming they don't repeat the Yellow No 5 era.

I think I agree with your analysis of TPF. They've shown themselves to be worth more than most of the alliances on their side. I think that they've gained a lot of respect, but that people will be a little wary of getting too close to them for a while. On the other hand, people looking to shore up their position might make blatant overtures immediately. Hard to say. If they want to have a strong foreign policy post war they'll have to drop Pacifica though.

With regards to NPO's peace terms you're wrong. You're watching what people are posting, but you need to also watch who isn't posting on topics of that nature. The alliances on NPO won't let them off easy. I hope you're right on the other peace terms; those alliances have paid their bills on the field, in my book, but I really don't know how those chips will fall.

Frostbite I hope becomes strong, stable, and well-defended. Right now we have a decent slug of nation strength and nukes, and some very experienced players at the helm. I hope it never becomes thought of as a "superbloc," though. I don't generally like aggressive groups that project their power and I hope I don't end up involved with one. I won't be the one guiding policy though, so I really don't know where we'll end up. Hopefully nowhere near any attempts by SF or Citadel to become the next superbloc. <_<

Yeah, I hope there's no superbloc, but honestly, it seems inevitable. First the Initiative, then the Continuum/One Vision.
