Wither "The" Pacifican Nation

In the immediate aftermath of the NPO's misguided war with Ordo Verde, the perception of NPO as an unshakeable hegemony began to crumble. Cancellations in tC, mass, cowardly walkouts of long-time allies and of course, the perilous, spiralling drop in Pacifican NS all cracks in the vanguard of Pacifican might and power. What sticks in my mind is that NPO have ceased to be seen as "the" alliance, rather now just "an" alliance.

It seemed for a long time that Pacifica was unassailable and tightly protected by its allies. Even the Pacifican two-valued orientation trickled down into the psyche of Bob as orthodoxy - those who supported or opposed Pacifica. Vox even today still uses the orientation to determine its allies and enemies. But now, even though Pacifica has not been beaten into submission - and its doubtful they will capitulate so easily - many believe their reign at #1 will soon be over and be forced into the community of nations as an equal, dictating to no one, allowing for those who have their eyes on the prize to take it for themselves. Much like the end of the Cold War, one can easily see Bob fracturing into multi-polar blocs all vying for power and control.

The days of strong-arm tactics will be over; even the War Coalition of Karma and the Hegemony will not stay unified forever. Wars may become more frequent, yet less chaotic. They may only last one or two cycles; something I like to call the "Moldavi Police Action" phenomenon, which has become an honorable recourse for those who have wronged the New Sith Order. Even MDoAPs and their terms will be reevaluated, the battlefronts much less easily defined - as you know, MHA did not support the Pacifican war on OV and stands honor bound to defend her from illegitimate bandwagoners; yet we are currently engaged in a war with IRON which is steadfastly on the Hegemony side.

I believe that once this war ends, no alliance will be able to wrest control over Bob in the way Pacifica had ever again. Each alliance will be cognizant of its own fallibility from within and without. The finest, most astute players can only be on top for so long - there, with a high degree of probability, may always come someone better.
