I don't listen to too much rap from the eighties. Mostly from '87 up until 2010. As far as the 90s go, I can't think of a top 20, so you'll have to settle with a top 11 :

Biggie told his life story, but all told it was all one big drug dealer's dream. Jay Z is Jay !@#$@#$ Z, he's never had an album with more than two themes involved.

Never said he didn't, which is why I prefer his Ready to Die-era stuff over his Life After Death stuff. In the grand scheme of things, as long as the artist makes good music that I can relate to in even a subtle way, I have no problem with it.

You consider "Juicy" to be a pop song lol? I thought you were talking more about stuff like "Hypnotize" or "Mo Money Mo Problems".

Juicy isn't a pop song, but it contains a plethora of pop elements. The blending of genres is something that allows people like Kanye, Drake, etc. to reach a wider audience. Some continue to make music that you can enjoy, some don't. That's why I don't judge an artist on the genre, or sub-genre of their music. I judge them on the quality of the music they make and if I can feel what they're saying or not.

P.S. did you even listen to Sailing Souls or Sailing Out in full?
