I Have Been a Fool

I have made many mistakes in my CN career, the biggest mistakes I have made have stemmed from naivete. At the expense of my own reputation, I aligned myself with a certain someone who at one point I admired. Because in that someone: I saw someone who was destined for greatness, someone who defied the reactionaries and the upper-crust in word and deed, and someone who wasn't afraid to stand up for what he believed in. I followed in your footsteps, and even when we didn't agree about a lot of things, I was willing to understand your viewpoints if you were willing to do the same to me.

Many people in CN dislike me. I think that this is because they do not understand me. So in order for the people of CN to understand who Loki Laufeyson is, I asked you for an interview in a PM and you arrogantly did not reply. You drove the dagger further in my back by throwing me under the bus and insulting me on the OWF. I would have never expected any of this but it is what I get for being naive. The purpose of this blog is to tell you, and the people of CN, that I can no longer continue my association with you. You have sold out to the reactionaries. The events of the last few weeks have taught me a lot of things. things that are true IRL and in CN: Trust no one and stay on your own side.

I do not hate you, I don't even dislike you. I wish you the best of luck in your "revolution", as my own struggle continues.

I don't think you get what this is all about in the grand scheme of his actions.

Why doe she, or anyone have to follow the "unwritten" rules of CN? That notion just reinforces what he has talked about, and everyone telling him to join an alliance, and learn these rules are just not getting what he has said, or has been saying.

You may want him to learn these standards before going for his revolution, but it's a stupid notion to learn something that you want to change, and you don't want to really adhere to.

The only way to change anything is to learn how it works and then come up with something better to replace what you perceive as an antiquated system. Without proper knowledge of what you want to change you will never be successful in implementing a successor. Just my 2¢

If you haven't understood that I've learned how this stuff works, but I don't see the point of conforming to it then you don't know me at all.

The fact that you're all just assuming things is proof of this. None of you have responded to any point I've made.

Why follow if there are no leaders?

When people are too scared to step outside of the box, you have to do it yourself. I mean isn't that what everyone has been saying? I should do it myself?

I have a plan. You have your own plan, NPO has its own plan, most other alliances have their own plan. If that plan does not align with my own, then I am wasting my time. You said it yourself, you didn't support me against GOONS because it did not fall within your plan.

They are too scared to do what they want, therefore they stay on the safe side of "playing the game" and joining an alliance. I'm different.

The difference in my case I never waged a war I could not handle. I did not declare revolution against GOONS and then try to get peace on the mercy board a short time later, after declaring victory against GOONS no less.

I declared victory against GOONS because I did what I set out to do, and that is to vindicate myself and the other nations driven out of CN by GOONS. I may have been defeated militarily, but psychologically and politically I have been successful. The fact that a few people have supported me in this endeavor is evidence to that fact.

Roguing GOONS wasn't even my plan, I just did that out of boredom and frustration with the state of CN politics. How just this time last year, CN united against GOONS and DH during Equilibrium. Now the same people who fought against them now support them. My plan is to change CN for the better, by making it a place not where the politically strong dominate the helpless, but where everyone can have fun.

Therefore you cannot force me to conform.

I have no interest whatsoever in forcing you or anyone else to conform. If you're doing what you want - more power to you. If you already know everything I advised, good for you.

Perhaps I and other people are missing your point. But if you're going to post on a public blog an entry called "I've Been A Fool" and then say "I would have never expected any of this but it is what I get for being naive" - don't blame anyone else for trying to give you some advice.

Loki, consider the life of a hermit. Perhaps in the wilds of the wilderness you will gaze upon a vision in the sky. For though you know you're purpose and mission, you haven't the slightest idea how to get there.

A will can only go so far, before the way becomes impossible.

Then again, if anything is to be gained from this, it's that you wont listen to this advice anyways.

I pity those who've tried to help you:

I feel like an a-hole for all of this.

You are now a penitent prophet, seeking the path of enlightenment and redemption. Follow the path laid by those before you, that you may gleam from their lives the steps to succeed in yours.

You need followers and friends. You can get both by joining an alliance and working your way to the top. When your at the top you have an array of Nations at your disposal to carry out/attempt whatever changes you want to do. People aren't going to just flock to you. You need to work now and lay the groundwork, otherwise what ever aspirations you have, have already failed. Also Posting on the OWF is what the majority of people will see and it is broadcasting yourself to pretty much every alliance in CyberNations. What we see on the OWF is how we are going to portray you. First impressions are important. You may or may not be a nice guy privately but if you act like you do publically you aren't going to win many people over.

Wait, you only admit you're a fool for following Tywin? Wat

I do not regret attacking GOONS, and I would certainly do it again with the right preparation. Not to say I don't want peace, I just don't regret anything.

You're right, which is why I'm going to stop posting in the OWF for a while.

Take a big man to admit they have been a fool. I wish you luck moving forward Loki. Let me know if you need anything.

Thank you.

Regarding GOONS:

GOONS have been annoying people on CN since before I even logged on and I logged on over 5 years ago. They are infamous for having people hate them. They raid constantly and I personally have NEVER met anyone who has experienced that and honestly likes them. However the majority are intelligent enough to at least learn how CN works and either gain some real power or join an equal sized alliance (or better) that feels the same way about GOONS before doing anything about it. Otherwise you just entertain them and that is a sad sad thing when a person's intention is the opposite.
