Action Bronson is rapidly passing Eminem for "Best White Rapper"

If you haven't heard of Action Bronson, you either don't have an internet connection or don't have any interest in hip hop. Not only is he white with a throwback style (think Mac Miller before he decided to go with a more "trippy" vibe), he even sounds like Ghostface. Hell, Strictly 4 My Jeeps sounds like it could have been a Ghostface cover. By Ghostface. Anyways, on to the point.

The man can rap. Better than most. So much so that he may be a top 10 NYC rapper one day. We're talking up there with legends. His size is reminiscent of Fat Joe, but his skill sure the hell isn't. He has the potential to stay in the mainstream and be one of the best rappers out. He's also a genuinely cool and intriguing dude, apparently, like Tyler the Creator. Bronson's lyricism and wordplay remind me of Eminem at his height, and I'm hoping his stay at that level (or possibly above) isn't as short as Eminem's.

I mean, watch the Strictly 4 My Jeeps video. The man pulls of an amazing song, and makes it funny. The Riff Raff cameo is hilarious as well. The man created a good song and then pushed it into a higher threshold with the video. Hell, his production and raps are so throwback I was surprised he was white. Since when do white people rap like that?

Anyways, if he keeps this up he'll be the greatest white rapper of all time very shortly. No Macklemore.

He sounds exactly like Ghostface, which is why I cannot say he's the greatest. Plus he doesn't have a wide enough following to even hold a candle to Eminem.

His style marks him as different from Ghostface. The fact that he sounds the same (which isn't him trying to) is a coincidence. Your second sentence tells a lot about your character. Wu Tang doesn't have as wide a following as Mac Miller these days, does that mean Mac Miller is a better artist than the entirety of Wu Tang?

Wu Tang at their peak in the 90s had a large mainstream following and are legends in Hip-Hop, there is no comparison. If he has his own style then that's good for him, but on the songs that I've heard from him; he sounds exactly like Ghostface (I don't really listen to him). My main point is that he has a long way to go before he can be considered the Greatest White Rapper of all time.

My point is that Eminem is completely overrated because he is the best available white rapper. Therefore, Bronson is quickly gaining on him in a talent level.

Also, Ghostface has an entirely different style which is rooted in underground and slight horrorcore. Their music is similar, but that's like saying Nas isn't Top 5 because he's indistinct (seriously, he pulls off the sound really well, but he is by no means unique)

Also, Soulja Boy had a large mainstream following in 2007, therefore he can't be compared to Mac Miller? Your logic isn't following. First you say mainstream = good, then you say if you were mainstream in the past you get a hall pass, which includes all one-hit wonders and Action Bronson (NYC is the capital of rap and he has a large following there)

Soulja Boy is also a !@#$ rapper lol. You can't compare legends to one-hit wonders, because the Wu Tang Clan definitely had more than one hit. I didn't mean mainstream equals good, I said that Eminem has been in the game a long time and earned the title of Greatest White Rapper; not to talk of his lyrical prowess. AB has only been out for a couple years. The talent is there but he needs a larger following to be considered one of the greatest.

Nas's style, while he did kind of borrow it from Rakim, is by no means indistinct.

Wu Tang's mainstream appeal fizzled out within a decade, with the majority of members being resigned to irrelevancy within a few years. As well as Eminem being in the game a long time, he has also dropped more duds than I can even count. His style that got him to prominence was quickly and abruptly abandoned in favor of something with more pop appeal instead of maintaining his core fanbase. Eminem is a smart man, but by no means does he deserve the title of "Greatest White Rapper," there just has been little to no competition in that bracket since Eminem came out. Bronson presents the only real competition in the arena of actually having lyrics in quite a long time.

1. Wu Tang Clan may not be as popular mainstream-wise as they used to be, they still have a sizable following and are widely respected throughout the Hip-Hop community.

2. Eminem's good songs outnumber his bad ones, but I will admit that he sold out.

3. He does deserve the title. In a genre and culture dominated by Blacks, he was able to appeal to both the mainstream crowd and to hardcore hip-hop fans. If you do not like him, I understand; but you cannot downplay his accomplishments.

4. Only time will tell when AB is able to catch up to Eminem, but for now he needs a larger following. It's to early to just say he is the greatest ever.

1. Your point was that someone needs a mainstream audience... You can't reverse that position without agreeing with me bud.

2/3. Eminem is often overrated, because he's white. His lyrics are child's play compared to many actually good rappers (see: Nas) and he often uses overexaggerated violence to try and appeal to hip hop fans. Eminem came in at a good time to get started rapping, with the vacuum left by Pac/Biggie's death and Dre basically about to retire, as well as Ice Cube sidelining himself. Eminem was also one of very few options out of Detroit (surprised Obie Trice or Royce didn't pass him tbh, but Dre had his preference and decided to appeal to rebellious white teens)

4. Name 5 white rappers in the 90s/00s who have had a large mainstream audience for several years. Not to mention Bronson has a fairly large body of work. Making the cover of XXL isn't his first appearance and SAAAB Stories isn't his first recording session, you know.

A wider following does not equal a mainstream audience. Going mainstream usually means you have a deal with a major record label. There have been many underground rappers like Big L and others, who are widely known and considered to be the best rappers ever. Only people who listen to nothing but underground rap know who Action Bronson is.

Never said Eminem was better then Nas or anything like that, but he is up there in the Top 5 IMO. He is the greatest because the White rappers that came before him like MC Serch, Vanilla Ice, Beastie Boys (debatable), and Everlast didn't even come close to accomplishing what he has been able to accomplish. Which is why I think he is the Greatest White Rapper ever. While Mac Miller (who kind of sucks now IMO), AB, and other White rappers that are out now are starting to shake things up a little bit; they are too early in the game for anyone to say they are better then Em.

I knew who Action Bronson is and I usually listen to Rock/Alternative...

Anyways coming from a Rock/Alternative fan, he isn't that bad. I could see him rising to the top in a few years.

Action Bronson? You mean the same dude who spit out the weakest verse in 1 Train and looked like as if he was running out of breath and having a heart attack while rapping? The same Action Bronson that is plainly another clone of Fat Joe? Are you saying that a rapper who has clearly copied Ghostface Killah's style is better than an emcee who proved the world that he is G.O.A.T using originality and taking free speech (and Hip-Hop) to a whole new level? Neo, please, this is a new low, even for you. What in the flying $%&@ was going through your head while you were typing that sort of !@#$%^&*? Dont interpret this in a negative way, I believe Action Bronson is a decent rapper and has a whole mess of potential to become a great rapper, but saying that Bronson is better than Em is like saying Kendrick Lamar is better than 2Pac. Bronson is too young to be called the best white rapper ever since he has not produced any classic albums like Em has (SSLP, MMLP, Eminem Show). Action Bronson uses end-rhymes quite often, throwing in some metaphors, some smart wordplay, and a little of internal rhymes from time to time while Eminem rhymes almost every word ,having a lyrical and metaphorical meaning, he spits when he is going HAM. Out of all the rappers, Eminem is the only rapper alive that both mainstream and underground rappers seem to compliment and admire the most. Hell, even Action Bronson admitted that you need to step up your game if you collab with Em since Shady spits crazy, wild fire. There are many, many, many reasons that makes Eminem the best white rapper and best rapper that has stepped foot in this Earth, but I prefer to just stomp this !@#$%^&* you wrote right here claiming some dick-headed, assholic, rookie fat-ass is better than a legend who has changed the rap game forever and will remain as the essence of excellency in the rap game. Maybe your pissy because Eminem stomped and dissed the hell outta Kanye, the one rapper you seem to love the most, but meh, this is a free country and I should respect your opinion no matter how stupid it is.

Just compare these two and tell me who reigns superior. To give Bronson at least some sort of advantage, I used a track and a popular music video of Bronson and compared it to a random freestyle of Eminem.
