Every now and then I throw in a copy of the 1960's film, "The Magnificent Seven". Early today I watched it again and I couldn't help but think what a great theme for a micro-alliance of mercenaries this would be. Imagine seven nations, not even large ones, whose sole purpose is to fight. We'd probably be rolled on a regular basis, but the fun it would be.
No more posing for brownie points on the political scene.
No more giving a hoot about these tawdry little rags called treaties.
No more being concerned with the caricatures that are passed off as political figures.
Just good old fashion looting and shooting.
Not even for the highest bidder either. If one remembers the Magnificent Seven rode down to Mexico for the promise of twenty gold dollars for the service of their pistols.
