I hate you, Anonymous

And I hate your childlike, naive, knee-jerk response to the world around you.

Yesterday, on Wednesday, the Internet stood up as a unified whole to deliver with authority the message that PIPA and SOPA must be stopped. The Internet dealt a strong blow in our favor, towards the defense of free speech. Our voices were heard, our voices shook the earth, and even before the bills have a chance to enter debate, we are already seeing a positive impact of our protest.

The next day, today, the DoJ went and took down Megaupload.

And within hours, legions of Anonymous morons, angry that one of their larger porno sources was knocked out, launched their oh-so-predictable response, and began to DDoS everything in sight.

And this is EXACTLY what the DoJ, RIAA, MPAA, and everyone else who stands opposed to a free Internet wanted.

The takedown of Megaupload isn't just a wild coincidence, it's a timed, precision strike by those enemies of free speech. We are in the midst of a war for our very survival. You can bet your damn ass that these DDoS attacks, which cause no real lasting damage but can easily be drummed up as some sort of hacker threat that endangers the whole country, are going to be used as ammunition in the debates which are just days away.

A bunch of idiotic script kiddies throwing a temper tantrum over the loss of a porn hub has now seriously dampened the volume of our cries against SOPA/PIPA. You gave the RIAA, MPAA, and the DoJ something which they could not give themselves, and you handed it to them on a silver !@#$ing platter.

So thanks a lot. !@#$ing idiots.

Which is what they will say.

The government will say the following:

"Megaupload was a major hub of illegal downloads, hacker tools, computer viruses, and child porn"

"We took down Megaupload to protect America"

"A number of hackers viciously hacked into and disabled government infrastructure in retaliation to us dismantling one of their central sites of organization. These hackers are a threat to the security and lives of all Americans and must be stopped. SOPA and PIPA must be passed."

And the general public, in their infinite idiocy, will believe every word.

PS: SOPA is a distraction and was never intended to pass. Watch PIPA.

1. The protests did nothing, they were the occupy movement of the internet... it got nothing done and just came off as a bunch of whiny !@#$%*es.

2. Anonymous did what they did because they thought it was right, same thing you did.

3. The only reason those bills went away was because it was a !@#$@#$ election year. Politicians are in the business to get reelected, and that wouldn't happen if a bill like SOPA or PIPA was passed, give it half a !@#$@#$ year and we will see it again when everyone is safe in their seats.

4. Megaupload is a casualty in this war, yes. But the government says that about everything it doesn't like. Give it time and the site will come back under a different name.
