A Note on Spy Attacks

Dear CN,

If a nation attempts to incite Religious Propaganda against another nation that has a GT, odds are it's a joke. Especially if it is between two people who know each other. In fact, the odds are so high that it isn't a chance, it's a fact. And if you think otherwise, you probably shouldn't be here.

Sincerely,

Ghux

Not necessarily.

When I was doing my thing on the Red Senate a while back, I routinely received notices of attempts to change either my government or religious preference or to destroy my nukes. I had the Great Temple, Great Monument and no nuclear weapons.

Never underestimate the power of stupid.

What does a GM have to do with Religion? Also, spying is a cb, should it be decided to be seen as such.

It's as weak as CBs get. In fact, it's such a weak CB that a better CB is attacking someone who uses it as a CB. Spying infra or cruise missiles makes for more of a CB, because you're actually doing some monetary damage.

If someone tried to incite religious propaganda, I would consider reporting them for slot filling.

My favorite is when you're down to 5 nukes with a HNMS and they attempt to spy one away....and fail...and then try again.

Took a guy three days to figure this one out last war.

Marc Aurel from the old Gramlins literally did this to me like 40 times over the course of many rounds of war. I couldn't believe how incredibly stupid he was. I felt so bad for him at one point that I explained it to him.... he deleted a week later.

As much as it's a joke, jokes are things you share with friends. Don't be shocked if you poke someone at random and they don't appreciate it.

Fine, I clarified. :P

Well, if you knew that someone was going to do an infra jump, and also saw that their gov wasn't set to a position that reduces infra cost, then spied on them to change it, they'd have to collect before they could change governments, which would kinda harm their infra jump and subsequent collection.

That being said, it's still a stupid thing to do.
