A Viridia Day Address

Another year passed since the day that ended the illusion of a stable and friendly Green, and another year of success and relevance for Viridia. The main event of the past year was the signing of Pandora's Box – the new central bloc of its area of the treaty web, and thrusting Viridia into the spotlight.

Entering such a large and mixed bloc, in the top tier of world politics, had a predictable effect of attracting detractors, from the other power clusters. And, also predictably, the bloc made enough enemies that one of them did something which triggered a war, becoming the main event of the first half of 2011 (and still ongoing on subsiduary fronts). VE's part of that war, in the initial strike on the New Polar Order, eded in a victory, if a somewhat damaging one, and left Pandora's Box in a strong position as almost every other power cluster was defeated or disintegrated.

The appearance of the new bloc XX in May leaves the political landscape more interesting for the PB alliances, and VE, for the coming year. What will XX and PB do in the next twelve months? On that question, the fate of the world may lie.

Of course, the other big piece of news is that the Grämlin banner once again flies over Seria – although with the Viridian one, on this day, of course. The reformation of an alliance which still had some remnants remaining is a new adventure to everyone, but the alliance seems to have been received well, and working with some of the same nations that made up the original alliance in its heyday is good for all of us.

The next year is not only an interesting one on the political stage for the world as a whole, but also for the new Grämlins, and Serians. Let's make the most of it!

I didn't realize VE was enemies with PB. I mean, maybe I'm behind in the times, but I thought VE were members of PB.

Just because they're members it doesn't mean they're not enemies. I mean, c'mon, VE had GOONS on their eternal enemies list. GOONS disbanded VE the first time. They've insisted on using the same acronym, they come from the same place as old GOONS, and they're likely planning to disband VE again. It's impossible that they're actually tied via MDoAP, without some political reason.

I think VE is really a viceroy of PB. It was pretty obvious from their last war that everyone was being used as VE's meatshields... everyone was declared on except VE, and still VE sucked so much in that they lost so much NS from just fighting a few enemies. The PB internal power struggle is evenly split between Doomhouse and VE, but I suppose PB is just waiting for a solid CB to start a PB civil war to overthrow VE. iFOK/FOK/PC just don't have the balls to speak up against VE, but they don't want to be in a world ruled by Doomhouse either, so they're managing the balance of power carefully.

It seems impossible that it could be true, but I think every sentence you wrote here got progressively dumber.
