OOC Tags Entry posted by Smooth February 13, 2011 337 views Share
 Followers 0 The Open World RP forum is OUT OF CHARACTER. I am so sick of seeing people use [ooc] [/ooc] tags in it. Smooth out. Report Entry
The Dear Hunter Posted February 13, 2011 Report Share Gotta remember some people take this game way to seriously, and either need those tags for themselves or for others who can not differentiate the in character to and out of character forum sections. Quote Link to comment

No, I'm pretty sure they just have no idea it's already OOC. Quote Link to comment
Prodigal Moon Posted February 13, 2011 Report Share We could also use a reminder that Alliance Announcements are IC. I'm serious. People really need to stop referring to "pixels," "the game," etc. and make some attempt to be rulers of nations. Quote Link to comment
Zoomzoomzoom Posted February 13, 2011 Report Share It's a much better world if you just don't know any forum rules and post. Works well for me Quote Link to comment

The Dear Hunter Posted February 13, 2011 Report Share I think you have it backwards, you are first and foremost a ruler of a nation. Quote Link to comment

Bob Janova Posted February 14, 2011 Report Share Ugh yes abuse of the IC and OOC areas is one of my pet hates with this forum. Quote Link to comment
Vladimir Nikanor Posted February 14, 2011 Report Share technically yes, but people don't behave as such. Used to be that way, I'd like love to see it return as such. Quote Link to comment
Chief Savage Man Posted February 14, 2011 Report Share If you want to act like the ruler of a nation, there's a lovely forum called Open National RP. Go there and stop attempting to enforce your particular way of playing CN on the rest of us Quote Link to comment

Bob Janova Posted February 14, 2011 Report Share Actually I think you'll find the rules, well, rule. I agree that we aren't really RPing the leaders of nations, except for a few mavericks like Opethian and Sigrun. Most of us are RPing members of a national government, more or less important depending on what level we want to play at. But we should be RPing something – apart from anything else, there's a lot of conflict in CN and we want to be able to play that and not have issues with each other outside the IC areas. Prodigal Moon Posted February 14, 2011 Report Share If you want to act like the ruler of a nation, there's a lovely forum called Open National RP. Go there and stop attempting to enforce your particular way of playing CN on the rest of us I'm confused - in the CN I know of every player has control of their own nation. I'll be the first to admit that alliances function like nations and nations function like individuals. But that doesn't change the fact that there is a nation in CN called Nightmerica and I am the ruler. If I didn't have an alliance govt. position, and I were to post my opinion in the IC section of the forums, what would the character be? A 20-somthing dude at a computer in TX? @memoryproblems: Same questions apply. Of course alliance leaders are going to hold more clout in inter-alliance politics, but everyone, regardless of AA, has their own nation. Quote Link to comment
Schattenmann Posted February 15, 2011 Report Share I always thought it was pretty amusing that the "OOC in IC" reports go up by about 500% during war. Quote Link to comment
Haflinger Posted February 15, 2011 Report Share All the reports go way up during wars. Smooth's right. Also can we please stop saying [ooc] thread [/ooc] right now? Just use the word "discussion" if you want to be thoroughly anal or alternatively get over it, thread is not an OOC term. Quote Link to comment
